  • This is so true. Having a health kick for a few weeks is not the same as having a healthy lifestyle.
Even when I’m on holiday, I follow most of my advice most of the time. I still find a corner where I can practice Yoga with a view of the sea, walk and exercise each day, and still eat plenty of salad ( and even drink some rosé).
    It’s the consistency that counts.
I don’t find it hard to keep motivated, because I’ve integrated it all into a lifestyle, where the benefits are visible and maintainable.
    1. I know I feel better when I eat healthy food. So this becomes a priority. It starts with what I put in the trolley at the supermarket. What we buy, we eat.
    2. I have a fitness routine. I walk the dog every day as a non-negotiable. I then add in either mini trampolining or yoga whenever it fits around my schedule. If I have more time, I do both.
    3. I set out my work hours each week. If I have any less clients I spend my time researching, training and keeping my nutrition programme, Renew Reset Recharge®️ Bang up-to-date.
It’s easy to let things slip once we get over 50, but it’s not about trying to fit into a bikini or a pair of trousers. It’s about longevity and living a healthy, hopefully long life.
I eat well to support my body and help reduce the risk of common chronic long-term conditions such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, arthritis or even Alzheimer’s. It’s not a given that if you eat well you can avoid these illnesses, but I want to do my best to reduce my risk the best I know how.
So doing sport isn’t about being thin. It’s about muscle strength, cardiovascular health, bone density, mental agility, lymphatic drainage and stamina, so that I can use my body in my 70s, 80s and 90s.
Just making small changes that become your lifestyle mean that you don’t need to stay motivated, just need to be consistent.
