Guys, this lens is a weird one. It is marketed and branded as an APS-C lens (on the box, online, and even on the lens cap) so I never thought about trying it on my full frame A7C. I did this morning, and to my surprise it covers the full frame sensor (albeit with more vignetting and even softer corners). So it can be considered a full frame 50mm F0.95 for $200ish, which is very cheap. Anyway, check out the discount code linked in the description above and let me know your thoughts below!
@@endrocahyo15 Check this out. Here is the review by 2 Hongkongers in which they put the lens on the A74. It covers the FF CMOS. ruclips.net/video/eB6IbJSyYW4/видео.html
I just got my review unit today! I was really surprised when I attached it to my a7iv and it covered the whole sensor! I kept just smiling while opening up the aperture lol
thanks for the quick look.. Arthur. Yeah those 10 photos pretty much sum up the lens to a "t". I would really like to see an upcoming video though from you with fast glass but all photos taken in low light / no flash .. be it full manual or auto aps-c's lenses. These types of videos are very far and few between
Have you noticed that this lens even almost IS a fullframe lens? You can use it on fullframe without significant vignetting. Just some well visible distortion on the edges, which is of course totally inacceptable for "professoinal" projects, but for artistic photography, which this lens is probably best for anyway, this can even be quite interesting. Definitely a feature that can be used creatively.
Since you review manual focus lenses once in a while, and I'm a big fan of MF lenses, may I suggest you make a video for either of these adapters: * Techart PRO Leica M - Sony E Autofocus Adapter * Fotodiox Pro PRONTO Adapter - Leica M Mount Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Autofocus Adapter These adapters allow Sony E cameras to autofocus manual focus lenses.
Thanks for the fun review. I bought a similar lens, the Risespray f/0.95 35mm for Canon M (yes, I know, Risespray is the world's worst brand name). Now, if someone buys a lens like this hoping for Noct performance, they'll be sorely disappointed. But for fun effects it's an inexpensive experiment. I have the Canon soft focus lens for my full frame Canon 5DS. Why spoil 50MP with soft focus? Sometimes you don't want every wrinkle and vein shouting from the image. With these bokeh factories, try for a sweet spot, perhaps f/1.1, where you have a little softness and yet it's not distracting. Not the lens for photographing supermodels. But maybe for photographing their mothers. Or, perhaps, just having a spot of fun.
Hi Arthur .Love your vlogs. I am looking to purchase a budget friendly 50mm fast , full manual lens for my OM systems Olympus OM-1. Just wondering what your thoughts are when comparing this lens against the Kamlan 50mm f1.1 mk ii ?
I like the design of the lens. F 0.95 lenses are all soft wide open. And nailing focus with this must be really hard. I shoot with an old Olympus 50mm f1.8 adapted to my a6300 and at 1.8 I can't get good results. At f2.8 however this little cheap lens is sooo sharp! Definietly utilizing all 24mpx of sony apsc! I was blown away. Maybe you could check it out one day Arthur? Cheers
Exactly, the f0.95 is pretty much unusable so I'd rather get something like a super takumar 50mm f1.4 for less than half of the price than buy any of these lenses

Thanks for the video, i use the 7artisans 50 0.95 in fuji and is a funny lens to use
Hi Arthur, quick question as I can hardly find any helpful information on this. Which lenses do I use best for my A6400? Currently I only have the SEL18105G and SEL35F18. Should I change my 18-105 F4 for the Tamron 17-70 F2.8 or Sony 16-55mm F2.8? And as a supplement the Sony E70-350 f/4.5-6.3 G? Or what do you recommend? 🙈 (I use the camera for everything. Landscape, wildlife photography, street photography, portraits, etc. No videos, just photography) Greetings Stefan
did you do a sniff test? i find my last 7artisans lens smelt quite bad when i unboxed it. Of course this should be going away after some time and does not really matter. nice review! :)
Hey Arthur, how's it going? Which one do you favour more, between 7artisan's 50mm 0.95 or the ttartisan's 50mm 0.95? I know you favour the Sigma 56mm 1.4 a lot, but then I'm after the maximum bokeh I can get, plus I don't mind that dreamy look for filming.
A strange question, but I would need this information. I would like to use it in an anamorphic setup, where there is a scope (projector) in front of the lens. The projector has a 50mm lens. I'm interested in what size is the front glass of this lens? So not the diameter of the filter, but of the glass from the front. If you could help me, I would be grateful!
Watch out: One big caveat about products from ZOOM: Their knobs and sliders are merely held by the solder on the circuit board! This makes manufacturing much cheaper, but it also guarantees early failure... Knobs and Switches must be screwed to the chassis to make a robust product to be used in the field...
Seems to be a lens for trying to be creative as a photographer. Not the lens for me. I would like to have seen more photos around F1.8 to F2.8 on faces. Overall, a good video. Thanks.
Nice honest review, thanks. By the way I just found your wives RUclips channel, you should shamelessly promote her channel during your videos because you use her as a model all the time and I'm ok to follow her because she is so familiar - and of course pretty :)

Can you show the result from the A7C?
The Leica copy full frame ttartisan 50 0.95 performs a lot better than this lens, but as you said more expensive.

Is the lens fixed in canon mirrorless camera with adopter ?
can you show the result of fullframe
the design reminds me of the vintage Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 135mm/3.5 Zebra i have.
build in the early 80´s , it´s a great lens on my Sony
Ohhhh my God 😱 I just saw your older TTartisans lens videos half an our ago & suddenly there's a new video! 😱
How does it compare to the 7artisans 50mm f0.95?
Excellent video😊!

Will you update a video about it?
I would love to see the comparison of this lens vs the 7Artisans 50mm f/0.95
Same, I wonder how they compare fully open, I dont know which one to buy haha
@@malakanmusic Exactly my dilemma as well lol

I have this on my Fuji XT3 and for the price you pay I am very happy with the performance of the lens

If you had to pick the 7artisans or ttartisans 50 f.95, which one would you pick?
of course TTartisan

lol ive experienced that once with a lens.
Actually I find some of those photos fantastic
I have the 7artisans 35 and 50 .95 lenses. Both very difficult to master focus on my 6400. Would love an AF 50 .95 for my A7iv.
Thank You!
7artisans 50mm f0.95 vs TTartisan 50mm f0.95. Which one would you recommend? And which one performs better wide open? Thanks

Can i take self portrait with fx3 with ttartisan 50mm f0.95 ???plz rply
50mm f0.95 or 35mm f0.95 ?
Nice revieww, just one thing. I think you should consider upping the sound level a bit, its quite low
Noted!
anyone have info on 7artisan 50mm 0.95 vs the TT artisans 50mm 0.95? I hear the 7artisan to be really crappy, curious how this would do...
Thanks for the review.
When shot wide open, this lens is too soft for my taste.
i have this lens but in leica M mount on my fuji xt5 kind soft on f 0.95 but softnes can also be nice
Which one between 35 vs 50, on .95?

How does it compare to the f1.2?
No electronic shutter to go beyond 1/4000?
Would you please recommend an appropriate cheap manual lens for aps-c cameras!?
Kamlan 50mm v2. Superb.
Good review! I will pass on that one.
Thankss

35mm equvialent autofocus apsc lens review is what we need!
Can you compare 7artisans to TTartisans 50mm 0.95? Which should we buy?)
the audio is pretty quiet...
"...a little bit soft" - hahahaha... a very special "all-bokeh" lens. It is a bit of scrap, don't wast your and my time.
… „it‘s a little bit soft“ … ?! … it‘s a worse pice of glas. 😂
