I feel like if I got to meet Dave he would say something like “hello, I really enjoy wearing socks. It’s a wonderful day out no?”
For any guitarist out there, it is really a fun song to play.
One of my favorites to play for that very reason.!
Ask any semi-decent guitar player who has attempted to play a Dave Matthews Band song... it is incredible that he can do all that AND sing.
Can you sing and play this song at the same time?
@@austingalbreath9661 I’ve tried, so tough because it’s not just simply strumming, so many changes
Listening to Dave talk between songs or in interviews is always an interesting experience lol
Thank you Dave, lost my dear friend last year, we splish-spashed together for many, many years dancing round the world together ❤️🤗🙏
It's time for a new solo Dave album... and then I'll be eagerly awaiting to hear the live DMB version of it.
This song is so underrated. One of my faves!
No, it’s not.
One of the most popular and known song of theirs.
@@sarcasticallyrearranged nobody knows about this song.
The consummate artist even surprise himself.. The best pandemic song to date..wow Dave wins the Grammy for perfection
This is such an underrated song of his. The message is simple and very meaningful. It’s one of my favorites. It’s one of the very few songs of his that I like the studio version of the best.
I have tears of joy, everytime I hear this song. This song makes the world rejoice. No matter where you're at, rich or poor, it is an absolute delight to my ears! I'm so happy Dave became a musician and an awesome songwriter, one of the best ever. Also congratulations to the woman that has seen DMB that many times, that is amazing.
Daaamnm...havent seen this solo since like 95
He is the best! ❤🎶
I got to be on tour with Dave for 3 shows in 02. I was very fortunate. Nice guy. Dave is on of the best Rhythmists
This song and this performance is joy to me.
Other then watching him dancing on stage listening to him talk makes me smile as well.
dave is so awkward haha I love it
These lyrics were written on the outside of the wall of Woodstock 99
He’s as good as ever- maybe better. Damn.
As the world changes, Dave remains awkward. That’s a relief to know.
237 shows! Dayuuuum! How does one do that? Must have followed DMB around every tour.
My mom's been to 176
I love DMB, but that kind of behaviour suggests some underlying mental issues.
@@twostep919 yeah, because having a bunch of fun and camping out with friends once or twice a year for vacation means you're stupid. (Sarcasm)
An I thought 34 was a lot
@@loganmohler737 when you go to 10 plus a year, year that’s a bit excessive
LOL Thank you Dave You are a musician, a great one sir. You also have a great love our life Thank you
Your voice is the gold trust me your hair doesn't matter to the people who love you
One of the most memorable birthdays ever! The day after in Raleigh. Dave Mathews! Gosh i was maybe 19? I went with my sister. It was so fun! Best birthday ever! 39 yrs old.. ugh feeling it. Haha
Sounds perfect
wow this is cool how he plays the jam in the middle... sometimes for solo versions he skips over that. incredible version.
First time I've ever seen him ham GB by in the middle solo also.
@@COACHWARBLE what does "ham GB by" mean? I consider myself a pretty big DMB fan but i cant figure that one out lol :)
I think I meant the jam in the middle. Too much pot that night.
@@COACHWARBLE hahahaha "smoke my miiiiiind... make me feel better for a small time"
that was freekin' awesome. Probably my favorite DMB song to boot!
love this guy! i relate. hard to speak....but then... truly amazing!!!!!!a savant, prodigy of music, so inspirational
Dave Speak!!! 🕺
As great as Dave sounds solo, and man does he, I can’t help but wish Tim was there alongside him adding those layers like only he can.
Agreed. One of my all time favorite DMB songs!
Yeah tim n dave...I'm just blooown away!
MAAN, they are the best acoustic duo in my opinion.
Oh Dave. Thank you for sharing your gift.
I'm blown away
I love Dave so much
I can't find the songs from the event due to this radio station. Never will have my support!
Damn. Ole Dave still has it in spades.
Brilliant performance!
Thank you Dave!!!!
Amazing!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you Dave! Your hair looks great! I'm blow away...
loved it !!!

One could argue that Dave Matthew's is one of the most attractive guys out there. His head with his big sexy brain can go bald, it's the hairy heart that blows us away....
all south africans seem to have a measure of this kind of crazy
How is such talent distributed?
He doesn't look anymore bald then he was 20 years ago 🤣
Love Dave. It’s hard to add drums to this cause he never plays in a single tempo lol
Only Carter can match his beat. Others hate the unpredictability of his melody, but thats what keeps us coming for more. LIOG is an example, how it ends is in a very different melody
@@succubus20y Sort of...although you're talking about time signatures - I'm talking about just keeping a consistent tempo, or beats per minute (BPM) for example.
When Dave solos, he jumps around in different tempos. That's not something Carter can play to either, nor would he because it wouldn't sound good =).
Just clarifying... I can play YNK, Stone, and other odd time sigs, but it's difficult to follow a solo guitarist unless they are consistent in their tempo. When Dave plays with the band, he doesn't have to worry about that as Carter and Stefan dictate the tempo (drummers and bassist lead the time and tempo and others follow their lead).
Do you prefer Dave with his..... Rockbridge, Taylor, Martin or Chet Atkins?
Taylor
@@aaronhuffman6417 agreed love the signature 914CE
Same. I think that was the best all around sounding guitar hes used. The chet atkins had a nice distinctive sound too
@@aaronhuffman6417 crazy if you read up the Chet was barely even a Chet by the time they got done with stripping down the electronics etc to modify it for Dave to as he said years ago to "cut through" the rest of the band but you're right it did pop and have its own distinct sound in those early years. I love watching the old videos especially from overseas where the early crowds are quieter and you can hear Dave's Chet loud and clear.

Lol, livestreaming makes us all realize how little hair we have!
Aww,shucks
Get back to your roots with this one...
I can't play this one either :)
I can only play the verses
What can you play, by the way? I can play big eyed fish, two step, the stone, and tripping billies. All of them took at least a month to learn. Hard songs! Oh, and i can play Halloween And American baby on bass.
237 shows over 22 years so maybe 10 a year. Who can do that with a regular job?
Hey Shaving your head is like a holiday! Bald = fine!!
You mean buzz. Why would you shave your head and go bald lol
Really needs a Tim Reynolds one note solo...
237 concerts my ass. Average 10 a year. Do you have a job?
Marengo Illinois hemp farmers for Trump
holy wokeness on that many concerts lol . Plenty of other things to do than obsess and follow dmb around for 20 yrs.
