As a motion graphics designer, I can't imagine all the time that went even BEFORE the videos were made; it takes some time to create the UI elements to make this animation style.

@@MaxxiTv all reality shows have writers. Even if it isn't "scripted." All the lines that Ryan Seacrest says on American Idol, or Tyra says on Top Model, someone wrote that. They are reading off of a teleprompter.

Yeah, I wish they would talk about the process. To get into Real World, you had to go through a process that involved psychology experts. You HAVE to have the correct personality for the interactions the producers want. They never seem to like to talk about that part
Vox has a nomination for Outstanding New Approaches: Arts, Lifestyle and Culture at the News and Documentary Emmy Awards for "We Measured Pop Music's Falsetto Obsession." Based on the comments to this video, I wouldn't be surprised if this video earns a nomination in that category next year.
why are people disliking the video? just because you didn't like or agree with some of the things these people said doesn't make it a bad video? it's still interesting and educational
This was pretty interesting. It just goes to show how much goes into making "tv-friendly" content. Making something authentic for tv isn't as simple as it looks.
I haven't really seen one all the way through since Survivor S2 and I'm not huge into TV in general, but this is far more interesting than any reality show I've heard pitched recently.
I was on a reality/game show (Fear Factor) several years ago. It was an interesting process going through the casting process with them. I definitely wonder what types of conversations were had about me.

When the lady says they will often do a 10 year sweep of a potential contestant’s social media, do these companies have access to deleted posts and things like that? Like can they get in touch with Facebook/Instagram or Twitter and the like and get access to everything someone has ever posted? I know social media companies keep a lot of info on users and even though from the public perspective your posts are deleted I’m assuming something is kept on the backend...?

Internally contestants are basically considered a 'good' not a person. When you still felt like you were treated specially then they did a good job
