  • Switched the frame up into the main garage and brought the cab down to the shop to get started on the body work. I had already made some early progress a few months ago so in this video I'm finishing up the passenger side floor and inner rocker panel.

    I know I am late to the game since this is a older video but one trick i picked up on a different car metal channel is to flatten down a drill bit the same size as the spot weld holes. Use it to just to sand down the primer in the hole spots so the welder won't have the problems you were having

    I made the same mistake with that flange and bent it to the floor as well. It is supposed to weld to the back side of the outer rocker gasket flange.

      I put a link in the description. Initial fit is perfect, we’ll see how the fenders line up when I put them on but I’m confident.

    Are you using silicone bronze wire? That aftermarket sheet metal sucks for carbon content. Silicone bronze melts at lower temp. Just don't butt weld it.

    Ok where did you find the lower A pillar, the bottom sections and tye rear of the floor pans under the B pillar?

    MJ here, 68 C10 I need to replace the kick panels, outer floor pan sections at kick panels (small area) and right lower A pillar and my question is the Cab is still on the frame with new cab bushings so does the Cab need bracing or will it be alright?

    Congratulations on the new addition.
    Random question. What are your garage door panels insulated with? I've been thinking about insulating ours with foam board but it's kinda thick. I would like something thinner but not heavy to weigh the doors to where I need to buy another motor.

    • @paulkc10
      @paulkc10  4 года назад +1

      It’s 1” thick foam board with radiant foil on both sides. It fits in the grooves really nice, just put some type of spacer between the door and the foam so there’s an air gap. Keeps the shop nice and cool in the summer without AC and keep the heat reflecting back into the shop in the winter.
