He's the Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Video Game Nerd!
SkulShurtugalTCG I love you vids I love them hide and seek
That's what he should've called himself.
Excellent work ! Lining the telephone pole with tree was the proof . Great recreation at the end . A movie everyone should see but hasn't
oh wow! Adam knows of James! awesome!
That same tree got larger in 60 years.
This film is one of my all-time favourites, I've watched it so often I can pretty much recall the script word-for-word and it still makes me practically die laughing every time I watch it.
*A viewer of this video at these locations in the future*
‘This is where James Rolfe did that video. He was standing right about here.’
Oh, and great work with the sleuthing James!
Actually, the Forbidden Road leads to Sylvester's mother's house and is blocked off to ensure that no one bugs her or Sylvester ever again.
These location videos are always great.
Keep making more of them.
Intimidation id love to see a location tour vid for the Wizard. Theyve talked about the movie plenty for obvious reasons so may as well cover it to its fullest 🤘
Indeeeeed. These are So very cool.. mek me appy
Damn. It's amazing how those rural roads developed over 50+ years.
I remember this movie being so long, that even when it airs on tv, there’s an intermission.
Dude that was one of my all time favorite classics. Especially the Ladder scene at the end. I nearly died cause I was eating christmas dinner when I watched it back when I was 7. I literally made Dressing come out of my nose.
It's impressive how entertaining that movie is so many decades later.
Totally a classic. Best part Bar none. The Ladder scene, that and Pike destroying the Gas Station.
James is the type of guy that really appreciates atmosphere and location love your videos man.
I saw this on TV in the later '70s and into the '80s. It remains among my all-time favorite movies. The attitudes and essence of the time is a place I've always wanted to be. It was an early take on what I thought was reality, as a California native among other things. My Grandparents were from the East, and moved to El Monte in 1947. Thanks for sharing these. As a kid I would see some of the identical scenery on the PCH in Malibu, notably the white home with the modernist arched front design.
I love how he geeks out over things like this. It makes me realize how much I do the same in my areas.
It is kind of sad how these basically random locations have completely changed.
These types of videos remind me of why James is my favorite person on the internet
Wow I haven't seen this Movie in a long time,it's one of my favorite slapstick comedies too
Very enjoyable to see this, you can feel that he is really into it. I like it very much when people really go after the things they like and not only what would bring the most views etc.
Yet it kinda made me sad how these places have changed... from a whole lot of nature to a plane concrete ground...
This is one of the most quality RUclips channels. Always fun, always something interesting, always something AVGnerdy. :)
This is amazing
Jhonk
Outside my hometown is the little desert airport they filmed at for this movie. My Grandpa had a restaurant at the time in the area and he did the catering.
"That plane belongs to a Mr. Tyler Fitzgerald...I don't think he's going anywhere today." lol Is the lounge still there where Jim Baccus was sprawled out on the pool table?
cerberus144 Cool
This is my favorite comedy of all time. Thanks for doing this.
Not gonna lie it looks weird seeing James out of the house.
James's voice is so calming
My dad is Indian and lived in India until he was 25. He did and still does consider It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World his favorite movie of all time. He saw it in theaters in the 60's . It transcends language barriers.
This is amazing. I've been a huge fan of this movie for 26 years. I discovered it way back in 1992 when I was only 12 years old. For about a year after that, it was my favorite movie. Nice to see some of those location over 50 years since they filmed it.
That was really cool. This movie has been making me laugh for the last 30 years.
That last location looks pretty obvious it's the same. They just upgraded the bridge and cemented the creek, which is something I always hate. California has done that far too much.
This has been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid, it's great to see more locations! Thanks for doing this!
I love seeing old movie locations today! I've seen an amazing documentary about locations used in Buster Keaton movies!
I picked up this movie on criterion thanks to your favorite movies of all time list and now ive enjoyed watching the two location videos youve put out for it. Its crazy to think how much things change over time. Keep up the great content.
👏🏻👏🏻👍 Sylvester and the girl dancing in his pad was the ultimate groove. Cmon man, you can mimic it 🤣
Thanks very much for doing this. This is one of my favorite movies and I saw it when it was at the show! Yes, Im over 65!
Yes! James finally went to more filming locations, awesome
I love these location videos. I hope we get to see more of them in the future :)
These are so wonderful! Thank you for working so hard to match up our movie memories with today’s locations!
James, I really appreciate your perspectives.
The location videos are some of my all time favorite that you have done, keep it up! Would love to see more!
Love these videos so much. Well done James (and Kevin)!
Love these location videos, James. Good stuff!
Wow! Thanks so much for your tenacity and for sticking with this story. Both of your vids for Ma Mad World are incredible----and yes, I like their world more than ours...............
Love these videos James! Your dedication is second to none man! Thanks!
"It's such a minor scene that most people wouldn't think about..."
EXCUSE ME?!?! That's one of the funniest, most memorable scenes in the movie for me! Phil Silvers at his best.
As for the "Chevy-Dodge" final car crash into the ditch, I've always been certain the stunt driver behind the wheel of the Dodge had to sustain some serious injuries when he slammed into that steering wheel.
Great video keep up the great work
I absolutely love these videos! So cool to see these spots from that movie after so long... seems like the perfect film to go location hunting with too.
This is awesome! Glad you got to visit the amazing locations of this great movie.
I love it James, thanks for sharing
Red convertible, the driver hits the dashboard really hard! Ouch!
He hits the steering wheel, not the dashboard. And yes, he hits hard.
James you are really the best! More great content
I freaking love your filming location videos!!! Keep up the awesome!!!
Great video. Would love to see you do more of these. Very entertaining and don’t stress to much man.
Love this!! Thanks. One of my all time favourite films. I am a movie location scout so this is a real treat.
It’s great to see you keep making these
“All around me are familiar faces. Worn out places. Worn out faces”
These vids are always awesome!
Yea really enjoyed the Ghostbusters one from way back
SupaPixelGirl faaaaaalse. They resemble a diarrhea dump in his ear.
Mad, mad World was like a travelog to me. I was an elementary school kid living in woodland hills when they were filming the movie. I KNEW I had seen many of those locations, and I was right. I feel that the many locations used in southern California are the final uncredited player in this great film!
It's been a while but I always love when you do these location videos! They really show your dedication and passion 😊
I don't really give two shits about the movies you're chasing down in this video, but I fucking love how much you love it. You made something I don't care about interesting and worth watching and that's pretty damn cool.
I'm definitely a new subscriber now after watching this! Keep up the good work!
I love these videos James... I have a passion for locating old movie locations. Hope you make more!
Wow the place changed so much
Interesting pick for a location tour video. Definitely a good idea. I gotta watch this again. Its been years
This is so awesome. My late father loved this movie and I would definitely showed him this video.
"Sylvester; don't talk, just LISTEN!"
Love the movie, love the video. It's great that you're so passionate about this film and keep coming back to find more locations from your idol. The bridge you mentioned is also from the bus scene in Duel, which happens to be my favorite movie. I just moved out to LA, maybe I should find it too!
How fantastic!!!! I can relate to you 100%. Thank you for posting this marvelous experience.
Very cool a great movie.
If you ever visit Australia you I recommend you check out Silverton, where Mad Max 2 was shot, it's a bit of a drive from... everywhere but it's just like it was 37 years ago and there's also a small museum packed with original props!
It’s surreal reminiscing about these old vids
James has a knack for making simple feel good videos :)
Very cool video. I often watch old films from the 50's and 60's with natural locations such as these and wondered what those locations now look today.
Very good! Thanks for all your good effort
Glorious! This made me so happy.
This is a great movie. I live in Southern cali, so I can visit these locations. I just found out buster keaton's scene was filmed in oxnard. Blew my mind that I visit that location often. Great video mad nintendo nerd!
Fantastic, also my favorite movie, road trip time
Very nice work! Thank you!
I love this more then anything you've done Bro !
What a great movie that was. Somehow this reminds me of Huell Howser - wish he was still around & joined you in this - his enthusiasm would have been amazing!
*Agoura Hills, the town I was raised and home to some of the best rock bands in the world ( incubus, guns n roses, hoobastank, linking park, audio vent, Ect) glad you saw it James*
Remember the part where Ethyl Merman went flying down this big hill backwards in the tow truck? That's hwy 247 just north of Aberdeen Rd. A few miles north of yucca valley California... I'm 62 but I saw the similarity when I was a kid. We have a family retreat home near there.
This took me back to the good old cinemassacre times, James should do more videos about films he like
I just have to say that this video (from James Rolfe, one of my most favorite RUclipsrs) was released on my birthday, and another favorite RUclipsr of mine, "The Mysterious Mr. Enter," also released a video on the same day as well! That's awesome!
As someone who used to live in SoCal, I’ve never realized how many times I’d been to movie locations before..
Always love seeing James sporting the Indiana Jones jacket.
Nice video, as always!
This is a pretty cool concept, more please!
Keep up the great work!
Very nice présentation. Thank you so much. Lots of memories of my childhood. Best comedy ever.
It's a mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad mad ...........world
You have to wonder during how long the highway patrol had to close off that fork in the road for filming due to the numerous times the cast and crew had to go up and down.
Great video James! Never seen the movie but your dedication makes is still enjoyable even for me!
Wow! Awesome! I am stunned at this discovery.
Awesome. Awesome movie! Haven't seen it since i was a kid. 40 now....crap....I'm old
Just these little set details are awesome.
movie's not only funny but beautiful to look at 10/10
Cheers James and Kevin. I love u guys!
This video reminds me: I haven't seen the movie in ages! Need to pop it back in some day soon.
Fantastic. Love it.
Like searching for memories in BotW, but IRL. And more entertaining.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video Mr Cinemassacre...because I do the EXACT SAME THING here in Australia (I don't recreate scenes though). I wonder if like me, you feel a silent awed sadness when you visit famous shooting locations.....I always do and then think how talented cinematographers are. Thanks from Sunny Australia.
Awesome detective work. (Awesome movie too, but that goes without saying of course.) Thanks!!
