Hallelujah! I think I understand it! I’ve watched many (too fast) videos and people have to understand what beginner videos are. I took a class in college that the instructor required us to write our paper to explain a modern appliance to a 1920’s remote village people. It had to be simplistic enough for them to understand and I’ve used the same technique when I was training personnel. You have successfully taught at that level as many experienced cricut users assume that everybody knows the basics.
You basically just explained a 2 in one tutorial that is amazing! You showed how to generally use the cricut machine but how to layer aswell witch can be super difficult & confusing watching other people's videos but you showed it so simple without any complex instructions :)
I've found that if you use the scraper tool on the front in different directions and on the back as well, it sticks to the transfer tape without any problems. This is especially important with thin lines in a design. Thank you for the video. I'm a Joy user who loved the old phone app and find Design Space intimidating. You helped me learn several new things.
Hi, I wanted a cricut for so long and eventually got one for Christmas. I must admit the fear of not knowing what to do, where to start and tbh can I do it has forced me to leave it still boxed. I cant even figure how to change sizing on a computer so I am dreading this. I was told just buy vinyl it doesnt have to be cricut, so I did, but to find out hundreds of pounds later all vinyl are not the same. I have been told 641 is to thick for cricut joy and the permenant gloss one is no good for tumblers. I honestly dont know what to do. I am so pleased Ive found a UK channel I can watch and follow and hopefully not give it up as a bad idea. I watched you first video as suggested n my anxiety was through the roof.....Thank you for sharing. Youve got a new sub.
You’ve got this! I think the first thing to do it the test project when you set up the machine as cricut design side will show you all the steps to take, once you get the general idea how it works it makes so much more sense so don’t panic ❤❤❤❤
@@paigejoannaa Thank you for replying. I will get some blanks and rubbing alcohol and possibly give it a go. What about the 641 glossy vinyl what can i do with that? What is that used for and is it to thick for the joy?
I am just starting to use my Cricut Joy, though I agave had it for a year. You made this easy to understand. I always wondered why you needed transfer tape and now know why? Thank you!
Thanks so much! Ive had my machine for a year and a half and havent used it. I might try to do some Christmas ornaments this weekend. Question: Do you always have to use the fonts and stuff that is there or can you make your own designs and stuff? I do a lot of graphic work where I usually create my own designs in photoshop or something so can you like import stuff like that. For example a logo I designed for a business? Thanks so much!
Great video, I am new, why did you have to use transfer tape, is'nt the vinyl all the same, I don't understand. Also can you use a regular iron for iron on vinyl, instead of purchasing a press?
this was great ,a little fast for me but i just paused it to find what i was looking for, also i need to make an iron on for t-shirts. do you have a video for an iron on?
Hi I'd like to ask you what do you do when your vinyl is ripping when doing words as I'm currently having this problem there's a new blade in the machine what else could it be please and have you ever had this issue
Hi! Great video, very educative! I just wanted to ask how you choose lenght and width. Before cutting, I choose the size but as I get to the final screen and click go, on the top of the screen it reads "based on your layout, the lengt must be at least x". I was wondering if you could help me with this issue. Thanks a lot!
Hi I have a couple of questions regarding the Fonts please. Firstly, Do you get any free fonts or do you have to pay for either individual fonts or the monthly £10? If you have to pay for individual fonts, is the font you have just paid for now yours to use again? or is that price for a one use only. Hope all that made sense. Many thanks
Yes you can. Just have to use iron on vinyl. I just made aprons for my daughters and granddaughter for Mother’s Day! 😊. Check out videos that’ll show you how to do it. I’ve watched many videos…….
Yep, was gifted a cricuit joy for Christmas. Still in box! Your tutorial was very helpful. Ill check out the basic, basic tutorial you mentioned as well. Question: How much is your monthly cost to the cricuit subscription?
Hey! You can search 'card corners' in images and use them as reference for the size of the card, and then insert text make sure it's a stencil style of font so you dont loose the inside of the letter. xx
Hey! I'd say the Cricut Joy or Explore machines are best for at-home crafters (beginners) but all machines can be easily learned. The Joy is great if you're short on space as it's so compact to store away. There is a complete list of what the Cricut Joy can and can't do compared to the other machines on the Cricut website and on my blog here: www.paigejoanna.co.uk/2021/01/differences-between-cricut-machines/
Measure your base product and then on design space select the finished layer and resize it to the size you want that will fit on your project. You can either select the layer and drag with your mouse (or finger if using a tablet or phone) OR resize it at the top settings by inputting the measurements you want xxx
It is shocking to me how difficult Cricut software is to use. Too many issues to get started using the software. I have tried quite a few projects only to get to the “make it” point and there are issues. I’m sorry I spent so much money on this system already.

Thank you so much so glad you liked it x
Tfs! I received a Cricut Joy for Christmas and had no idea how to use it. After watching your video, I’m a little less intimidated.
You are so welcome!❤
Me too😂😂😂
I just got one too. People make it look so easy. Hope this helps!! Just subscribed. I need all the help I can get

Now I see how useful transfer paper is! Thanks for the tutorial. :)
Thank you for explaining it very wel. I followed the steps!!
It's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you

I am just starting to use my Cricut Joy, though I agave had it for a year. You made this easy to understand. I always wondered why you needed transfer tape and now know why? Thank you!
Brilliant video. Do you have anything on how to add creations to fabric for a sewer?
Thank you! I've been struggling with making words and phrases, so this helps a lot! ❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much for your tutorial. I feel less intimidated by the whole process of computer to cricut now.
You're so welcome :)
Ok let’s go
Thanks!! So informative!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
Brilliant thank you
Thanks! Can you please explain why it is important to choose the right vinyl colour in the design space?
this was great ,a little fast for me but i just paused it to find what i was looking for, also i need to make an iron on for t-shirts. do you have a video for an iron on?
Hi, I want to use these machine to prepare some stencils to teach the children about soft pastel. Can you tell me how to do it ?
Thank you!
Hi, thank you for explaining so clear how to use it. Do you think I could stick a name or phrase on to a balloon?
Thank you x
You could but maybe do each letter individually or as a simple word, so that you can peel it away from the backing without using transfer paper xx
Hi I'd like to ask you what do you do when your vinyl is ripping when doing words as I'm currently having this problem there's a new blade in the machine what else could it be please and have you ever had this issue
Love your projects!
I feel I waste so much vinyl on my projects 😭
It’s so hard not to sometimes, I keep scraps and use them in scrap booking and things like that xxx
What papers can v use? Can we use our normal card stock ?
This was so helpful! Thank you!
Hi great vid. Wer did u get those boxes plz xx
You can use a plastic paint scraper as a cheap substitute for the scraper tool.
Paige
I'm thinking of buying the crucit explorer have been looking what paper you can use what is the paper s10 to s40 mean
Kind regards Andrew Watts
Hello! How to know what size vynil to put on the matt?
When did the whole menu and headers when using iPhone and iPad?

Hey! When you hover over the layer do you check the size? And does this error message come up at the cutting stage?
@@paigejoannaa Thank you for yout reply. It comes at the cutting stage, just before i hit 'cut' button

Here we are. Another video on these boogers. I hope this video is better 😢
EDIT: this was the BEST video I have found!!! Thank you
Do you know ow why my cricut joy blade seems to be stuck at the right side thank you
Hey Paige, really nice video! I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make highly engaging shorts out of them.
Thanks for the offer but I already do that myself x
What is app to use so can do animals or flowers or popple i have beening looking on design space but can't find it
Hi lovely video and you're so sweet. Tell me how long do the pens or ink cartridges last ? And is their subscription pricy ?
Great video. Can this be used on fabric?
Yes you can. Just have to use iron on vinyl. I just made aprons for my daughters and granddaughter for Mother’s Day! 😊. Check out videos that’ll show you how to do it. I’ve watched many videos…….
I can't figure out if the machine is going to turn my design for me --is it smart enough to do that??
For iron on vinyl what heat source do you use thank you
I use my iron without steam. The heat press is too pricey for me right now.
Ok question….How do we know if we need a cutting mat if we are using an off brand paper?
Yep, was gifted a cricuit joy for Christmas. Still in box! Your tutorial was very helpful. Ill check out the basic, basic tutorial you mentioned as well. Question: How much is your monthly cost to the cricuit subscription?
Hey! I hope you find your way with it :)
It's a £10 subscription, but it's not mine, it's on Cricut Design Space! xx
Btw if you are in America, the subscription is 0.99 cents
How can do you more cut files (the cards w the shadow color behind them) besides the ones that are free on there?
Hey! You can search 'card corners' in images and use them as reference for the size of the card, and then insert text make sure it's a stencil style of font so you dont loose the inside of the letter. xx
🤞I can use the software on my iPhone
Yeah you can :) download cricut design space xx
Is is best to buy the Circut joy for beginners, and what things would I be able to make with a Circut joy
Hey! I'd say the Cricut Joy or Explore machines are best for at-home crafters (beginners) but all machines can be easily learned. You have a Blythe doll!
My banner came out but my words didn't print inside it
This probably sounds like a stupid question, but if you were to use a design from design space, are you free to sell it, legally wise?
I downloaded design space on a tablet. My space doesn't look anything like this. Does anyone know why?
I am having trouble with the sizing and measuring.
Measure your base product and then on design space select the finished layer and resize it to the size you want that will fit on your project. You can either select the layer and drag with your mouse (or finger if using a tablet or phone) OR resize it at the top settings by inputting the measurements you want xxx
Where is this te t box??. I do not see that in my design space!
You can’t right click on a phone, I can’t see how to flatten
It is shocking to me how difficult Cricut software is to use. Too many issues to get started using the software. I have tried quite a few projects only to get to the “make it” point and there are issues. I’m sorry I spent so much money on this system already.
Unfortunately just found out apparently design space doesn't work on chromebook 😭😭😭
Oh no!! I had no idea, hopefully you can use your mobile instead x
I saw a lot of tutorial and is always the same, they go so fast in the computer that I get lost
