Compendium IG contains 2x5 scions, best comms in the game, 4 special weapons hitting on 3s, free mission actions for a CP, theyre actually pretty fun
definitely an extremely fun team! they truly feel elite, but sadly lack tac ploys
Sure, my teams were done pretty dirty on this list, but that’s not important. What matters is celebrating surpassing 4K subs! What a phenomenal job well done, and a milestone so richly deserved. Keep up the great work!
The fact that a 40k army whose units are actually called kill teams (pretty sure no other faction uses that same wording) still has yet to get an non compendium unit is frustrating. They are literally the perfect faction for Kill Team with their awesome loadouts and wacky non conforming units.

Grey knight incinerator having heavy is a crime
Hive Fleet is my favorite Compendium team and I regularly play them. I haven't played the Necrons yet because I have the Heirotek and it's basically the same thing but with a powerful leader and two weak bugs as one of the fire teams. The other fire team you can freely mix and match but you can technically get a 2nd leader in the Despotek Guardian.
I am curious if they update or make a new compendium. The Leagues of Votaan came out after it so? I am quite curious if they brought out a Tyranid kill team what would it be? With CSM I have been playing with World Eaters to mixed results and Tau teams which I need figure out some more stuff
Just had the idea today of starting a grey knights team, and now i have to see this 🤣 No problem though, i mostly want to do it because i want to kitbash the **** out of it, plus painting something new once in a while is just nice.
With 32 mm bases you can run them as other elites, if you like the models. I've always loved the GK aesthetic.
idk why but it never occurred to me that deathwatch wasnt its OWN killteam and that in fact you could take different space marine fireteams to sort of 'smokescreen' into completely different fireteams. very cool, although deathwatch is still the coolest ones lol
I'll have to watch this at home to see how my Death Guard fared.

I've been running compendium only tournament events at my locals for a while now. The teams are just easier for my more dad gamer friend group, so just means they can enjoy the game more and be more focussed on tactical play rather than remembering all their rules lol. As a self contained roster system, I think its great!
i would love VRLs with a lictor leader
I thin Space Marines kinda do not belong in S - case being most of sub-teams are already bespoke teams. Phobos is a combination of Infiltrator/Incursor/Reiver fire team, while being better overall (what I mean - you can take 6 Incursors and use Phobos rules, without losing anything). Same goes for Intercessors (both shooty and choppy) and, recently, Scouts.
That only leaves vanilla Firstborn, Heavy intercessors and Deathwatch. And Firstborn are kinda worse Deathwatch
Damn Custodes so low… but on my fun tier list they are high! :D
And that's all that matters. If you love it, that's the perfect match.

I want terminators/paladins for Grey Knights.
If there's Custodes, how would my faction which usually has terminators in the battleline not be allowed to field them. Especially at 6 characters compared to 4 Custodes.
I think a full on terminator team would be bad. You are looking at 3-4 operatives that most teams can barely shift. What does a veteran guardsman team do if both their gunners are dead? Try to down them with lasguns?
They wouldnt be a very fun team to play against. As it would turn into hide and seek running for the objectives for one team.
It could also open the floodgames for all other terminator units. Like blightlords or allarus terminators. And even though i find some more elites interesting (incubi) they should focus on giving all factions standart teams first.
Also i think they only included custodes because the outcry would be to big if they had not. They are too strong on a unit to unit base and therefore had to be on the smallest acceptable size for the game.
When putting the Guard in such a low tier, were you taking into account how a full tempestus scions kill team work?
Ya. Still doesn't feel that great, even with the better BS and constant flow of CP into the pseudo 3 AP function. It's only a little more interesting than the standard IG varient

For me they are. From my perspective. If you look at them and think there is enough to keep you interested for a while, certainly pick them up. Again, this list is just my opinion.
@@KimerexProjekt I get bored easily so want to invest in a fun team with options. Why do you find pathfinders so much fun? It's my second option so maybe it's best to take that path.
@@saraathena the compendium Hunter Cadre? It's the options and adaptability you can take into each fight. Spicing things up to see what you can do against different teams. The bespoke Pathfinders are a little more straight forward, but they do have some fun options. Just gotta keep the enemy down range.

After watching, definitely gonna have to riot. Guard being f tier is criminal☠️☠️ scions we’re arguably better than kasrkin until somewhat recently, I’d argue they’re still better than some other bespoke teams
