When those anime dropped in Japan, it took months, even years before English subbed episodes made its way to other parts of the world. And by the time it came to us, it's already outdated, like when Gegege no Kintaro(4th) was released in '96 in Japan but was only made available to HK and SEA by 2004. Same with Urusei Yatsura, one of my childhood animes, came out 80s in Japan but made available to us in TV in late 90s.
This conversation is way above Baes weeb power level. We need them to collab with Irys or Fuwamoco, they would have showed the JP niki how powerful us weebs truly are.

hahah, marine mimicking how she imagines the EN VAs stumbling over "amakakeru ryu no hirameki" is amusingly accurate XD i just went and rewatched some some outtakes just because of that ^_^ i also understand that "contrarian mindset", i remember when karekano first came in the scene everyone was really taken with it and i was like, "nah, I'm good" and then a few years later i watched it and was like, "i was a fool!" XD
The fact that Senchou has watched the English dub outtakes of Rurouni Kenshin where the VAs have trouble reading the skill names because they're all in Japanese in the English dub still is funny to me. XD
My mom bought me a volume of Angelic Layer for my birthday as a kid. She knew I enjoyed reading manga but didn't know there were different manga for different demographics. I didn't know either that it was a manga targeted for girls I just thought the battles between the dolls are really neat
