Japanese high schoolers truly built different. How did she even make that game? Specially since computers between 90's and 00' are a bit handful and slow. Only thing I've done in my highschool computer class was basic html and calculators.

There is a lot of style mismatch going on (Higurashi-medieval rpg-visual novel with light BL and bad ends), but as a passion project where you use what you have, it's more commendable than cringe. Marine cringed a lot to her dialogue, but it's not like there were anything too out of the ordinary. This is a good reminder to be nice to who we were and what we did.
Yo, in all seriousness, having this kind of project in high school is a MASSIVE undertaking, and Marine and her friend pulled it of until chapter 5! That is 5 whole game chapters more than what 99% of high schoolers at the time were doing. I am extremely impressed, Marine-senchou.

Then in 2nd year of highschool, my friend and I were having fun in making games via RPG Maker. It never finished but we somehow worked on the dungeon and final boss. The next step of cringe after that must be making movie (which I did in final year of highschool). Truly a good chuuni times.. I hope Senchou could play the game on stream one day. The fact that she still had the game data means that she treasured it.

I don't have any of my old projects anymore, but I've worked on more than a few RPG Maker games during my junior and high school years, at a time when everyone was using Don Miguel's translation of RPG Maker 2000 and GamingW was the hotspot for those dabbling in game dev. Passion projects of youth may be extremely embarrassing to have exposed when you're an adult, however the days spent working on those are easily the greatest time of one's life, and Marine is lucky to have held on to a piece of that.
And now, 9 months later, after playthroughs, a lot of cringe senchou and a (not giving another thought) joke we have a TRAILER for the game voiced over by professional seiyuus, where senchou and other holomem had an audition stream for it. From the bottom of my heart, I'm truly grateful for this stream, for what brought and what will bring.

Reminds me of the story I wrote in my OLD OLD high school years. My language teacher forced all the students to write their own original story as a class project. It was an assignment spamming from the first day of school all the way to the end of the year. My story was about a man who gave up his childhood dream to become a lawyer for money and stability. Now at the age of 30, he hates his job and his life. But after the tragic death of his older sister, he found himself becoming a guardian to his 15 year old niece. Through her, he was able to recall his youth and rediscover his childhood passion. It helped him realize that money and stability isn't the only thing in life. She, on the other hand, regain a family through him. And as her guardian, he was able to help her not make the same mistakes he did when he was her age. I remember writing over 100 pages for this story. It was filled with teenage problems like her trying to fit in at school as the new student all the way down to her having a bad boyfriend that is only interested in getting her body. And there are the adult problems like him having a gold digger girlfriend who is only after his money and is cheating on him. And him having a drinking problem due to the unhappiness in his life. There was a lot of cringe stuff in there for sure. Things like sex, attempted rape, NTR etc. But the most cringe thing of all is that I was the only one seriously writing an original story. Everyone else just found a random book and copy everything on it. That's what I get for being the introvert in the class.
Marine's primal scream when Fubuki and Subaru said they were gonna read it killed me. It was pure horror, and Marine devolved into rambling about the lore and backstories to try to make the dialog and scenes less cringe. Never change Senchou

Reminds me of the story I wrote in my OLD OLD high school years. My language teacher forced all the students to write their own original story as a class project. It was an assignment spamming from the first day of school all the way to the end of the year. My story was about a man who gave up his childhood dream to become a lawyer for money and stability. Now at the age of 30, he hates his job and his life. But after the tragic death of his older sister, he found himself becoming a guardian to his 15 year old niece. Through her, he was able to recall his youth and rediscover his childhood passion. It helped him realize that money and stability isn't the only thing in life. She, on the other hand, regain a family through him. And as her guardian, he was able to help her not make the same mistakes he did when he was her age.
I remember writing over 100 pages for this story. It was filled with teenage problems like her trying to fit in at school as the new student all the way down to her having a bad boyfriend that is only interested in getting her body. And there are the adult problems like him having a gold digger girlfriend who is only after his money and is cheating on him. And him having a drinking problem due to the unhappiness in his life. There was a lot of cringe stuff in there for sure. Things like sex, attempted rape, NTR etc. But the most cringe thing of all is that I was the only one seriously writing an original story. Everyone else just found a random book and copy everything on it. That's what I get for being the introvert in the class.
Marine's primal scream when Fubuki and Subaru said they were gonna read it killed me. It was pure horror, and Marine devolved into rambling about the lore and backstories to try to make the dialog and scenes less cringe.
