a point that I want to elaborate on before I get a million comments on it:
I personally believe that my body is male regardless of my anatomy. You dont need to say that i have "female" or "male" anatomy even in a medical context because that in itself is not actually telling you much, because intersex people are a thing, and I may have had a hysterectomy without a vaginectomy, etc. Genitals are more complex than that; it is not so black and white. You could just use words like penis or vagina or ovaries or testicles without saying female or male, and it'll actually be much more specific while still remaining respectful of one's identity.

I think it's important to acknowledge that sex (ie female/male/intersex) words and gender (ie man/woman/nb/nonconforming, etc) words are not necessarily synonymous but that they can absolutely be identified with in traditional ways by trans folk too. It's no one's business what genitals anyone has and sex is such a spectrum that literally if someone says they're male then they're male and don't worry about what's going on in their body!

Does anyone else have this thing where you look at yourself in the mirror and you just can't see your body as 'female' despite of how 'female' it is with your chest and genitals and so on but you just see your body as male with a few 'irregularities' ? Like it doesn't matter that i was assigned female at birth i just can't SEE it ya know
I thought it was just me. It's weird because When I look at myself this is how I think, but when I think of others looking at my I get dysphoric.

Yeah. It's always been like the "female" crap is just attached to my real body hidden underneath, like it's mimicking a female but isn't really. It's just there by accident.

I use they/them pronounce and thaaaaaaank you! I'm doing that sick bleeding thing out of my junk and I want hormone blockers for it but my mom thinks I should just "deal with it like the rest of us" and I want to rip my heart out of my body. I hate it so much to the point that at school I cant change things so i just wait 8+ hours until i get home and its not good at all. So just like thank you for being really dorky and making me laugh about these things while still being really sweet and making me feel valid in my body. Thank you so much Aaron. The entire "you're biologically female" thing is so silly. Genitals are not the only things that determine your sex and yet that's what people keep being fixated on because it's the only thing people check. You could have testes and still have a V but you just don't know it because doctors aren't giving you scans to look at your inside organs when you're born. You could have XY chromosomes and have a V but you don't know it because they're not checking your chromosomes when you're born. They just look at your genitals and label you from just that.
NotPMHarper they also use this "you have a V you're female you have a P you're male" bc I think they are too lazy to actually think about what is and is not gender bc they are too afraid

I love this post. Wish it had been longer. I am a 70 yo cis-male who has dated ftm and mtf trans individuals for over 40 years and it pisses me off when people try to tell me that trans people are not "real" men or "real" women. My best friend for many years was a trans man and I never thought of Chris as anything but male. How about xy cis-females or xx cis-males? I've known a few of them as well. It's not what parts you have but how you treat people that really counts. You fucking rock. I've also learned that one of the most spiritual things I can say is Kiss My Ass.
Your videos and the podcast always make me feel like we're having conversation. I can't talk about trans things in real life, I'm stealth, so having this little online thing is very therapeutic sometimes. Thank you for making this possible

You are an awesome guy, Aaron. I didn't know what to say on your tattoo video because it was so personal and lovely and artsy (in a perfect way), so I came to watch this and now I'm even more speechless. I don't know how to express this, but I think it should be clear that when someone identifies as female/male/other, they are that. It shouldn't have anything to do with bodily functions or if they've had surgery or if they "pass". Why should anyone else define someone else? I do understand that doctors are needed at one point to help in the transition process and maybe even figuring out what actually is your truth, but others shouldn't define anything else (not other trans people and definitely not cis people). Thank you for this video and your thoughts in general. Much love.

Good video. I always like to hear opinions from trans guys because I'll never understand the trans man experience personally. I'm a non binary AMAB person and I'm also a biology major so everyone can imagine how much I DETEST when biology is used for transphobia when actual biologists don't agree with whatever the ignorant transphobes are saying about anatomy, genetics, physiology, etc. And maybe this is silly but Aaron I think you look so adorable with that cap and that T-shirt.
