A pair of the 5.15 speakers with a Cambirdge Audio AXA35 and a Pro-Ject DC EVO would be a killer system for a small to medium sized room at just around $1k.

Saw yr utube video I would like to ask you a question. The manual for the Rega planar plus turntable prohibits connection to the input marked 'phono' on integrated amps, say Marantz PM 7500 which I have. That is because both have pre amps for phono? So what is the solution? Pl advise.
The Plus has a built in phono preamp. You should connect it to any input OTHER than one labeled phono, CD, Aux, Game, etc, any of those will be fine. Thanks for watching
Hey, I am just wondering cause my records are quiet still on max volume on a surround sound set up yamaha yht 1840 specifically is this normal with vinyls (sorry i am new) but i thought it could be louder.
Michal, we looked up your unit, and it does not have a phono input. You need something like this to use with it www.audioadvice.com/turntables/phono-preamps/u-turn-audio-pluto-2-phono-preamp. Thanks for watching
Great question, no, it can not be replaced without more trouble than it is worth. It is a decent cable but not like the ones that come on the bigger Rega models.
I have buzzing in speakers when I connect to the phono in my receiver connectors from the Planar, but only when I connect red to red (right) connector. Left one (black to withe/left) doesn't produce buzzing.
You might have one of those situations where you need to do a different kind of grounding, we have a video on it here ruclips.net/video/SBaiycoHmwE/видео.html
@@AudioAdvice I don't know. I put it on the floor, via an extension cord attached to a different wall and no more buzzing. But when I tested back to see where is the problem, now it works without buzzing and I didn't change anything. I put it back to the very first position with everything and no buzzing anymore. Thank you.
Jakub- good question. As long as the active speaker has line level RCA inputs, yes. The P1 Plus has a built in phono preamp so you would be good. Thanks for watching!
I just hooked mine up and everything seemed fine, but the needle immediately spins off the record. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The turntable is spinning clockwise.
If you followed this video, bro, the guy didn't show you how to balance the tone arm and set the counterweight properly. Hopefully you have figured it out by now and didn't trek all the way over to your dealer for this basic advice. There's hundreds of videos showing you how to do this
100Underscores hey thanks for the post! I did figure it out, but then couldn’t get the connection to work, so somehow I can’t seem to get audio. Makes no sense at all. I’ve been away from home for about three months now, so I’ll figure that out when I return.
Other than the glass platter, is there any real advantage to getting the Planar 2 over the Planar 1? And is the advantage of the glass platter noticeable enough to justify the 2? I'm debating over which one to get. I could actually afford both, but if the difference in sound quality between the two isn't easily noticeable, I'll save the 200 bucks for a better preamp and get the Planar 1.
That happens when the antiskate is set too high or your tracking force is set too low. Make sure the rear counterweight is pushed all the way onto the arm, there is not an adjustment for the antiskate. It could also be your stylus is no longer there if it just skates across the record. If you purchased your Rega from Audio Advice, our tech team will be happy to help.
@@AudioAdvice problem was that when I wanted to take off protection for the stylus I take off the stylus too -.- Too easy to take off. So I put the stylus back, took off just the protection and it works fine. :) Thank you
There's a few things that bother me, the demonstrator did not balance the tone arm, did not check the tracking weight of the cartridge nor apply any anti-skating side force. In other words, the setup process was made out to be easier than it really is by leaving out some crucial parts of the whole process. I think this video is somewhat misleading.
Thanks for the comment Bob. The Planar One is preset for the Rega Carbon cartridge. There is no tracking force or anti-skating to set or change. You simply screw the counterweight all the way onto the back of the tonearm as far as it will go and it is preset for the correct tracking force. Anti-skate is preset as well.
Dear AA What if you want to use a different cartridge other than the supplied Rega Carbon, which I believe is one of the Audio Technica models. However, I understand that the Rega Planar can be upgraded, with third party extras, to make it a much more flexible turntable than the static one used in the demo. Therefore, I believe, the turntable used should be seen as a starter model for audiophiles taking their first tentative steps into the world of hi-fi.
@@AudioAdvice I have an RP 1 with anti skate adjustment. The P 1 obviously don't have it...🤔 And if I screw the counterweight to the stop the tracking weight is far too high. I have a good scale though. This seems to be a simplified version of the RP 1.
