Love the background music.
Looking foward to part two. Im going to try casting a japanese style wa handle bolster shortly in sterling silver.
beautiful knife. love the blued brass look!
Thanks it’s actually Bronze but I understand the mistake👍
Yeah brass would look tacky actually
@@mannsdan yeah I’m not sure it would actually react the same
it's not about full or hidden tang, it's about how solid it is.And that look realy solid
Great video!
Nice video, why did you use 410 instead of 420 ?Nice videos, thanks for share
Thanks! I just know 410 welds nicer than other stainlesses. There are a lot of different stainlesses you can use and some give different looks when etched
@@CurtisHaaland I ll try, 300's stainless are harder to welds and doesnt get such migrations than 400'sThanks, again
may i ask what size pin stock you use for guards curtis thank you beautiful work by the way
nevermind i figured it out
Pin stock? You mean round stock?
Hey man, just wondering, do you make your san mai in a big batch, like a long bar of it, or do you make small billets?
I normally make a batch of smaller ones but sometimes I will do bigger billets and do two knives from each billet.
You’re work outstanding!! What size alignment pins do you use?
Thanks! They’re 1/16th inch round
In my shop I go through a ton of 1/16 drill bits. I tend to keep those broken bits around for this exact reason.
@@jmiknuk I used to do the exact same. Great idea
@@jmiknuk that’s brilliant! I have plenty of 1/16” bits.
