When someone is putting perfectly and also out-distances you even though you smash it... you hope he makes enough mistakes in some other facet of the game I guess. It didn't quite happen today, but it could have.
Never have the palms of my hands been so sweaty while watching any sports coverage as in this back 9, especially the playoff. Such putting show from both of the leaders in playoff.
@@HaikesXO if anything it got me more pumped and excited to watch. I don’t have the time to sit and watch 3+hours straight of live streamed disc golf 3 days in a row or even for one day. Maybe one day I’ll be there but for now I agree with Nate “Disc golf is best watched in post production”.
This was so epic to watch live. Burridge might have been a bit unlucky today, but my god did he make a name for himself. Stoked to see more of this guy in the future.
That was THE most intense round of disc golf I have seen since worlds 2021. Thank you both gentlemen. One of you had to win. But disc golf certainly did.
It was such a beautiful 'old' vs 'new'. It's happened so many times this year and it's amazing to see such young talent go blow for blow against the most established and best players in th world.
Simon has been in my opinion by far the best on tour this year. I took up disc golf around the time he was still recovering from his elbow injury and only ever heard of "Simon Lines" like he was an enigma of the past. He quickly became my favorite this year and has been a pleasure to watch!
Anyone else think that one time he and McBeth swapping lines for a youtube video might have been the actual point where the light bulb came on for him. Like “Oh wait… I have the talent. If I don’t throw crazy lines everywhere I can win!” Hahaha. Amazing final.
What a final round, big thumbs up for Robert Burridge for the almost amazing round, you got it so close which means you will get soon. Well played, lovely charisma and you can see it from his facial expressions that he truly loves the game and has so much respect towards the other players. And Simon - Once again you did it, you are on fire this year and it you will be crowned as this years champion!
I'm so happy for Simon. He has had such an amazing year. I hope it continues for him, I love seeing him on the lead card. Great attitude, great competitor. A model champion.
One of the big pros of the live coverage is they show all the big throwers that are in contention. You get to see Paul, Ricky, etc regardless if they are on the lead card
I feel the same way. I love Jomez but I have to be honest, live makes it much more exciting. Watching burrdige can that 55 foot putt on the second to last playoff hole on live coverage was way more exciting than jomez. There's no buildup at all on jomez. Each shot comes at you in 2 seconds. Literally. During live we all get to watch burrdige approach his lie, the crowd following him murmuring quietly, he takes deep breaths and then drains it. I could say the same about world's last year. I'm so thankful I watched that live, it wouldn't have been the same post-produced. I love Jomez and have been watching them from day 1, but live is more rewarding and I hope they get contracts with the pro tour because it's only gonna trend more and more towards live coverage in the future.
Great talent, incredible drama and exemplary sportsmanship was on full display. Add the Jomez film crew and bigsexybari commentary and this is as good as it gets.
Hahaha I don’t always pull for Simon but I definitely like him. I didn’t even realize I was rooting against him until I started saying “miss… miss” on his putt on 16. Robert is awesome
that pressure for a m,assive playoff like that would be insane id choke on a 10 ft putt but this is hands down one of the best playoffs. If robert keeps playing and putting like that hell be a competitor in mpo for the future to come.
So happy for Simon to knock down another elite series win. The guy has put in so much work to get back on top. However I found myself rooting for Robert at the end. What an amazing show of class, and he looked like he was having so much fun battling with Simon.
SIIIIIIIMOOOON!!!! Whoop Whoop! We Fans from Bremen are especially proud at such moments! ❤️👏👏 Ps: BIG congratulations to Robert. What an INCREDIBLE good game. At the end it was just bad luck, not bad play. Stunningly great! 👏👏
As a DSM native who learned to play disc golf in the 515 over 2 decades ago, it is awesome to see DSM host another huge event. Pickard is looking great! Well done to all who were involved, pulling off an event of that nature is no easy task, and Ty, Amanda, the DMDGC, DGPT and all volunteers absolutely killed it. Much love from Charlotte
I hope to see a lot more of Robert on coverage. Seems like a great kid with a great attitude for competition. That was just a fun round of disc golf to watch.
I just love how everyone is rooting for Simon. Robert had a great tournament but seeing Simon playing how he has and getting all that love is so great.
As TD of the Berlin Open I got to present Simon (and Jerome) to the world, when they were both around 12 years old and really good. I’ve been watching and enjoying both careers ever since. Seen Simon win Berlin 5 times, but never saw a performance that could top Des Moines. Glückwunsch!
Im definitely following Burridge's career from here on out. Absolutely impressed. I was pausing the video before each of his throws to breathe. What a great player in this tournament. Clutch under pressure. Honored his card mates. Super stoked. Obviously having fun. KILLING it with his lines and power. A professional measured on every available metric. I hope to see him on lead cards in the future. If he does what he did here, there's no other option...
One of the greatest rounds of disc golf I’ve ever seen. Robert was so amazing I wanted him to win it so bad because he’s the underdog! But Simon was just too good man!
