Seeing this live when I was a freshman in high school (93) is the reason I stayed in band, marched a world class corps, majored in music, played professionally, continue to play the trumpet, and teach kids to play brass. I can honestly say seeing this changed my life. Thank you Phantom Regiment!

You must be a truly sad person to dislike this performance. Phantom Regiment is absolutely beautiful. I love this piece so much, that sound is simply unmatched.
Ive been in marching band all through high school, and played the trombone since i was little. I have aspired to be like this wonderful group as a brass player, and my music experience has meant a lot to me these four years. Im graduating in two weeks and my last week of high school is this week, as well as the last band concert for me. Hearing this and just thinking about the sheer power of music in groups like this is bringing tears to my eyes.
Thank you Phantom Regiment. " For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
This recording feels live every time I hear it. Just wish the photo montage included the group that’s playing - the ‘93 corps - on a sound stage in Denver, CO. Couldn’t be prouder that I was one of the horn players fortunate to be on that stage all day.
I first learned of Drum & Bugle Corps back in the late 70's. I was a young teen at the time and just started to play drums. I'm not sure how I found myself at a Corps show, but there I was. The first Corps I ever saw or heard were Phantom Regiment. They blew me away. From that day until this very moment, they've been my favorite. Thanks for all the years of excellence!!
Three people missed the like button. This was absolutely beautiful and reminded of a show my high school did my seventh grade year. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if my band teacher took inspiration from this song since he did that for our show we did this year with Carolina Crown's Bohemian Rhapsody. Like I said, very wonderfully done and I hope to find more of these amazing clips. This is what REAL music sounds like. Marching Band for life!!!!!
They played this in front of the review stands at a Parade in Wakefield MA a number of years ago. I can tell you the people were in complete awe of what they heard. After there performance a lot of people were just looking at each other wondering at what they just heard. Agree the G horn was the trick to bring this great sound out.
i HAVe heard this live many years ago, and i still never forget the awe and shock received just by listening to the best drum corps in america do it best! go phantom regiment!
Much as i used to dig the Scouts. Phantom was always my (ever consistent ) favorite. (Low brass baby) Nobody could replicate their sound. . . . No one . . .
Normally I prefer the slow and quiet, reverent arrangement of this amazing song, but this is just an incredible and awe-inducing sound. This is my kind of worship music.
If the DCI corps would play their shows with that kind of emotion all the time, we would go to see them, but as long as they play these emotionless robotic shows, we won't go!!! That was awesome and pissed me off at the same time, because it can be done, but DCI won;t let it happen. Time for some change.
Hunter Johnson I agree on Spartacus 2008 and Juliet 2011. Saw Bluecoats Tilt 2014. Crown's E=MC2 in person... I was told by the loud speakers about emotion... but I did not feel emotion in the performances.
Who thumbs down Amazing Grace by Phantom, obviously it's 13 vs. 13,000, but who? Those that didn't march drum corps, don't enjoy music at all & should trade places with 13 deaf people that would give everything to hear this!
God speaks through the Phantom Regiment hornline...
Hiccum Blurpaedius Due to your lack of social integrity, One could very easily wish the same for you.
Hiccum Blurpaedius Stop by any time I'll be waiting
Im Appalled
This is the most violent troll I've ever seen.
What does he say?

At every presidential inauguration, the entirety of the DC I Corps should play this after the National Anthem.

What is this man on? Please explain this.
@Hiccum Blurpaedius chill goddamn
@Hiccum Blurpaedius dude. Chill.
@Hiccum Blurpaedius literally no one asked

I'm not a religious or even a spiritual person. This performance is hands down one of my favorite songs of all time
it's like a crispy yet silky blanket thrown around my ears.

@@lilSpleet yup, graduated in spring of last year :) High school band was still the harder one to leave though :(
Also a trombone player long ago
Thank you Phantom Regiment. " For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
The best rendition ever played of this beloved hymn!

You should probably put a warning in the comments about the extreme dynamics used in this recording. My ear drums nearly busted with perfection.
and i shall walk without woodwinds wherever I may go....what a nice thought : ) Thanks for the throwback PR!
This is definitely being played at my funeral when I die in another 75 years or so.
still alive there buddy
@@ministerofbeans2879 oh yeah

I just love how they took this typical vocal and woodwind style song and made somthing beautiful out of it
If you can't appreciate this, you're lost
Love this. Get massive goosebumps just hearing it again. Hope they play it a few times this season

Incredible...simply incredible. I cry every time I hear it.
This sends chills down my spine EVERY TIME i watch it.
I know something is special when it gives me goosebumps. This is one of those groups. If only I didn't live in the UK.
Ahh - G bugles...
Beautiful!! Thanks.🌈
Much as i used to dig the Scouts. Phantom was always my (ever consistent ) favorite. (Low brass baby) Nobody could replicate their sound.

Normally I prefer the slow and quiet, reverent arrangement of this amazing song, but this is just an incredible and awe-inducing sound. This is my kind of worship music.
As much as 1:20 gets me going, it's at 1:39 that sends it home. NICE.
I cry every time!!

R.I.P DAD!
Goose bumps from Heaven
Nice
Of the near sixty thousand people who have seen this video, one person needs serious help.
For you Marty Hurley!!!
This would have been about 120db, louder than a jet airplane. You would have to be there live to appreciate it.
my wife knows this is what I want played at my memorial service....
It scared me when it hit off and my headphone volume was all the way up.
Um.....MAGNIFICENT!
1:28 did not see that coming
I know I'm a woodwind player but oh my Jesus 😭😭😭
Andrew Orzechowicz But I cant buzz my lips very long 😣
goosebumps at 1:20
wow!!!!!
@studmuffinxDCIx Actually it skips 2:34 and goes right to 2:35, which you left out
@tsanf20008 and thank you so much for your service
1:09. Come at me bro.
i like how all the pictures i've seen in this video are from Spartacus 2008 lol.
G bugles. That's where it's at.
HOLY KEY CHANGE!!
Praise God forever. Just beautiful.
WOW
Holy mellophone!
Thanks!!
Wonder how someone would go about getting this arrangement?
Adam Wright musescore.com/user/63177/scores/87059 I got the music here
Well done! I think that might've been spot on!
i wanted to be a cavalier through and through... then i discovered PR...

I disagree with you. Spartacus 2008. Juliet 2011. Bluecoats Tilt 2014. Crown's E=MC2.... So emotionless man. Blue Devils 2014. Yep.. Definitely emotionless.
Hunter Johnson I agree on Spartacus 2008 and Juliet 2011. Saw Bluecoats Tilt 2014. Crown's E=MC2 in person... I was told by the loud speakers about emotion... but I did not feel emotion in the performances.
+Carol Farren Let's add Crown 2015 to that list as well
***** Inferno was definitely, by far, the best show of 2015. Cadets coming in real close. Bloo... And then BD.
Yes, Inferno was a great show.
Who thumbs down Amazing Grace by Phantom, obviously it's 13 vs. 13,000, but who? Those that didn't march drum corps, don't enjoy music at all & should trade places with 13 deaf people that would give everything to hear this!
probably a BD age out in '08
@emtitan61 Well said :)
it appears that Satan has disliked this video... xD
