    Benedict Cumberbatch is phenomenal as Sherlock. This is the role that made Benedict Cumberbatch so popular and loved by so many fans. And I really love Martin Freeman as Dr. Watson throughout this series too. Sherlock is a fantastic show. So uniquely written and brilliantly acted by all of the major cast members. Especially our two heroes. It's also quite interesting that Sherlock is set in modern times with modern technology, when all of its original novels written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, all stories, and previous movies or shows based on Sherlock Holmes are all set in the late 1800s.
    Study in Pink is a fantastic start to this series. I love this episode's main plot, and I especially love seeing how Sherlock and Watson become friends and the famous duo they truly are. Thank you so much for a great first reaction, my friends! And I can't wait for you to continue on with more Sherlock!
    Sincerely,
    Heidi

    Fun fact: Molly was supposed to be a one off character just for the pilot but she was such a fan favorite that they kept her.

    Sherlock Holmes was originally a series of novels and short stories written back in the late 1800s. One of the cool aspects of this series is that they do a pretty faithful job of telling the stories from the books in a modern day context. All the major characters and story beats are the same.

      @@JerzeyBoyz As they (the books/short stories) went on, Conan Doyle began to ‘cheat’ a little more (ie not show the thought process as much, or have conclusions that could not possibly have thought of by anybody from the clues available). Also occasionally some slightly problematic issues of racism, I think due to ignorance rather than anything else. He thinks he is being clever, but is in fact imposing stereotypes. They’re available in audiobook form too - there’s an absolutely fantastic version read by Stephen Fry, who’s a big fan.

    Oh that's exciting, now you are reacting to two of my favorite shows. Sherlock and Lucifer. Unfortunately the upcoming second episode of season 1 of Sherlock is by far the worst one and put me off of continuing Sherlock for almost a year. But then I re-started the show and once I got past that awful second episode it was one hell of a ride. It's such a good show!

      Is it the blind banker? Yeah, this one and the hounds of baskerville are the two episodes i only watched once. But if i remember correctly those episodes are not written by moffat. So that would explain a lot.

    • @dajtoad1
      @dajtoad1 Год назад

      I don’t think it’s bad as such. It just suffers in comparison with the others. And if this had been the first one aired, Sherlock wouldn’t have been anything like the kind of smash hit that it became.
