It was $299 when I got it, there is an upgraded version now available which is $599. However, there are several projectors that work well for sewing. Some as low as $69 US. This page has several options within many different budgets. projectorsewing.com/projectors/
CUSTOM SIZED PATTERNS vs. standard drafted patterns makes Ditto a no brainer. White Ditto vs. black PDF cutting lines. Snap a photo is all that Ditto needs to calibrate. And the patterns fit. I ❤ my Ditto!
So glad you love your Ditto! It’s a great all in one system. However, I want to make sure there is correct information out there. You can use custom sized patterns with a DIY projector. There are many companies out there that offer this. And you can change the color of lines and backgrounds of the PDF patterns if you prefer. The Ditto is a complete system that is simple and easy to use! It’s the right choice for some!
She neglected to say DITTO eill have more patterns and we'll be able to patterns from other companies. And, there are patterns included in the purchase price.
@@ellenhofer3343 You can see the details for that announcement in the description for the video. It is not a current feature, but they have stated “coming soon”. Which I hope does happen very soon because it will open the possibilities of the projector! You do usually get a 3 month subscription free which includes the Ditto patterns only. You can only use the subscription patterns when you have an active subscription which is $99/year or $9.99/month. You can also purchase patterns individually and have access to them without a subscription. This video is accurate for what is and was available at time of release.
Great question! You can use Xodo (app or website) it’s free. Or you can use Affinity Designer iPad ($20). Here’s an article about using Xodo projectorsewing.com/how-to-use-xodo/. And one about getting started with Affinity Designer on iPad: projectorsewing.com/affinity-designer-ipad-get-started/
Good question! I have eight foot ceilings in this video and it’s worked great for me. What is your distance between the ceiling and your cutting table? That distance has a big impact on the size of image you will get! The perfect DIY sewing projector setup depends on the distance between your ceiling and cutting surface and how big you would like your image to be. This page is a great place to start. projectorsewing.com/projectors/
@@projectorsewing thanks for your answers. adding clearance for the connections on the back of the projector we’re looking for a total of 55 inches. My cutting table has a height of 34.5 inches and it’s flush against the wall.
@@gialovesjesus8350Great, with the projector shown in the video and the distance you mention, you’d get about a 45” wide projected image. If you subtracted 10” from your ceiling to table height, this projector takes less than that distance, so your actual image size could be larger.
I think I will purchase a Ditto but I know patterns will be limited. Maybe I should purchase both?? I hope that you come through what is going to come to pass because we are going to need women to sewing skills!
The Ditto is the right option for some! As long as you purchase knowing the limitations and aren’t surprised after purchase. The next video is in the editing stage!
There will be more patterns soon, and we'll be able to use patterns from other companies. I don't think she mentioned that. JoAnn's has Fitto on sale for $300:off right now. She didn't mention that on the DIY system, you'll still need to measure yourself.
Yes, they have been slowly dropping the price over the past few months from $799, $599, $499, and now $399. This tells me that not enough people were buying at the $799 price. I do have an updated video that is a full review of the product and the updated Bring your own pattern beta feature.
The fit of the Ditto patterns? I found the fit as good as you take your measurements. 😉 Customized patterns take a lot of measurements, but there are guides. My first time it took a few muslins to adjust everything the way I liked, but then you have that measurement profile to use on any Ditto pattern. The overall fit on the final project was very good.
The projector has gone up in price alot! But, you have to buy either the patterns or a subscription, and you lose the patterns if you cancel your subscription.

I like the idea of the tension pole but wonder how it has done longer term
The DIY tension pole I use still works well for me. It’s not my main setup though and I do take it down and put up again periodically.
GENIUS
MONEY SAVER🎉
🤗👏👏👏 Really like the tension pole configuration. Thank you, thank you 🤓😎
Just checked online on Amazon. For the projector link that you have attached, the projector cost is $599, not $299. That's a huge difference.

What software do you use ? I have an iPad Pro and realized adobe does now work well with it

I live in an apartment with 8 feet tall ceilings will that be tall enough for DIY?

May I ask, what kind of level did you use to align pole?
Yep! It’s just a regular bubble level with a magnet on one side.
I see Ditto is on sale for $399.
