When I was a kid, I hated Weekend Update, because most of the jokes went over my head. As an adult I recognize it as the best and most consistently funny part of SNL.
This is the most accurate measure for reaching adulthood, I’ve just decided.
Back in the 70s I loved Point/Counterpoint with Jane Curtin and...Dan Ackroyd I think.

Weekend update really needs to be given a longer slot. It's always the best part of each episode
If you notice, the stronger the sketches, the shorter the update. It's no surprise that a Mulaney episode had an update with no guests.
Back when the show first begin it was very long, almost too long, but I think the Che and Jost could carry it
and that "never saw it happen to a white country" is a diss at those stupid ABC reporters. what a bunch of clowns.

For comedy I either turn to Fox News or speeches by Trump. Either of these has me falling off the sofa and on the floor in laughter. What makes it even funnier js that these people are trying to be serious.
On the other hand, knowing that there are delusional people out there thinking that the outrageous tales they tell does bring tears to my eyes.
This is one of the best Weekend Updates they've done in a long time. Honestly, these two could do their own "news" show separate of SNL.

There’s so much good content here. From Trump jokingly introducing his son by saying “this is genius” to Judge Keyanji looking like she’s tired of the foolishness, and then the “yo momma” joke. These two never fail.
Usually I prefer wit to silliness. But after this week and feeling so frustrated and upset about Ukraine, I laughed so hard at this. Thanks, guys for having the comedic instincts, being able to read the mood of humanity and hitting the content out of the park! Bravo!

I believe these two men have great chemistry. To me weekend update had its ups and downs but these two have me laughing always. Some of their guest are funny as hell to that are repeat characters since they have been on. Kudos to this writing team and Lorne Michaels for hitting them as host out the ball park. Great job. Please keep them. They are very memorable & the ending of the yr switch of jokes are hilarious especially when they look at each other reading what the other one wrote. 💕 them.
