Phillip, you are a man born in the wrong century. I really appreciate the way you boldly go about being your true self. The world would be a better place with more real gentle and kind men like you. I am so happy that you found your love and lifestyle that so well suits you.
a magnifcant steed so you can gallop through those gates, into the Courtyard, dismount and hand the horse to a lakey and stride into the chateau and sweep Stephanie off her feet. ahh.. fantasties.. lol..
Dear Philip, another lovely table with delicious food! You really inspire us to get out the good China and invite people. The encouragement we need after The Time of COVID. Thank you!
Once again Phillip an elegant table beautifully done😇 I look forward to your videos. Stephanie is a very lucky woman to have you in her life😇 I love all of you. Take care 😇
Beautiful! I love a good placement debate - Id have gone for the inside (closest to plate) for the cake fork, under the 'use outside to inside' model. And - as you said - there are no wrong setups when it is that gorgeous!
Phillip, I think you should photograph all of your beautiful table settings and in a years’ time you’ll end up with a beautiful book that you can publish and sell. 🍽
Your gift of setting tables is marvelous. 👍🏼💖one small idea for this late afternoon tea setting would be that some greens instead of flowers had given a touch of nature to it like small pine twigs in between 🌿
Philip - I find myself expecting a pan shot/very close up showing us the patterns of the plates/cutlery/napkins before you put them on the table. I miss this detail. It feels like you are rushing us through and sending us on our way too quick - you could be sharing your knowledge of the pieces you choose and perhaps even why you like these items (or like them for this particular setting). We'd enjoy that...we like that from you... we're here after all!
Beautiful afternoon tea table Philip i love the red and gold so warm and inviting you are doing wonderful videos i am very much enjoying watching your channel 😊
Phillip you are so blessed to be living at LA Lande. Your love of China and silver is so evident. So glad you started your own channel. You need to do one at a brocante to show how you look and pick items for yourself and for the Chateau. Keep up the good work.
Hi there! As always, a most festive & beautiful table Philip! You definitely have THE most fun jobs these days! ( I love, love LOVE setting the table!) Perhaps instead of flowers, which can be rather elusive this time of year, you could collect greenery ( pine, redwood, rosemary, cedar, anything green could work really) and make tiny wreaths to go around the candle base. Or lay the greenery along the length of the table, interspersed amongst the plates of food or maybe just in the middle 1/3 of the table. You can accent with pops of color using gold baubles, beads, small ornaments from the Christmas tree, bons bons, OR pinecones, acorns, horse chestnuts.... you get the idea. ( you could paint some of the natural treasures in gold to use every year, they look so pretty!) If you need height, use a pedestal bowl in the middle of the table, filled with some ( or all😄) of the things mentioned above. You could make a “pedestal” bowl or plate out of orphaned china & a wine glass. I think you’ve had practice doing that, right? Didn’t Kat absolutely LOVE that craft project? Perhaps not so much)😆 I hope you know that I am in no way suggesting that your lovely table is anything less than perfect! I most assuredly am not! I’m just responding to your invitation to us for suggestions. And I apologize for the dissertation length comment... I get waaaay too excited about table setting. Thank you for sharing this with us Philip. And thank you so much for being such a perfect, magical Prince for our precious & beautiful Stephanie. You are both so very much loved by us all. With love from the Northern California Coast 🐾 🐬🐚🦞🐋🐡🦈🐳🦄 🦔🦚🐈🐏🐓🐿🥐🥂
I love when the actual food that will be eaten is visually beautiful on the plate and has many heights, colors, so it can double as a center table scape. It allows the guests to also continually and more easily help themselves to more since the food is on the table instead of on a server without the table feeling crowded or food taking away from the centerpiece. I love when the table decor not only looks beautiful with the room but also considers and visually compliments the food being served. I so enjoy how you create spaces that are elegant and beautiful, yet comfortable, inviting, and where you would want to linger with good company!
I love a good and beautiful table setting!!!! It has always been one of my favorite things to do at home! Watching Stephanie and you on the Château Diaries create beautiful settings and finding all the beautiful pieces in the different shops, markets and brocantes inspires me to make my home more me and elegant! I have always liked a dining table to be a presentation card to the delicious food to be served! You are AMAZING Philip!!!!!
I am enjoying the "Philip scape" (table scape) you have been posting videos about! It is so nice to see the item you choose and the way you choose them! Thank you for your video Philip!
Beautiful table Philip. It made me rethink the placement of the cutlery, don't get hung up on traditional look. Play about, ring the changes. I am know rethinking my Christmas table colour, maybe blue, silver and a bit of grey. That my all change by the big day. Stay safe.
I am loving the table setting, it is a joy. Lovely to see the various services in use. One of my fondest memories is of a table setting tour we went on as a fundraiser, just fabulous. Thank you.
Wonderful table setting Philip! Love the simplicity...the food is the show, you did a brilliant job! Looks warm and inviting, not overly fussy! Thank you...really loving these short vlogs! Take care, stay well! Much love Kathy x
Hi Phillip. Love these videos! Can you teach us a bit more about the different traditional settings then add your twist after? I married into a very traditional European family but I grew up in a Canadian fishing community where we all just ate family style. I am just learning about all this and find it very confusing. But I love it!! The way you show it makes it easier to remember. Thanks and congrats from Canada ❤!
Love the whole vibe. Sparkling lights on the mantle add to the ambiance The only thing missing is more detail on your channel on the menu for the tea. Excellent placement of tableware and glassware. I learned that less is more visually appealing. Good idea to delete flowers as centerpiece in center of table as it would have been to fiddely. Restraint is always the best choice in anything artistic. Red and gold color.choice quite pleasing. It is 32 degrees Fahrenheit the coldest day so far 200 miles east of Chicago in America. This I am watching at 2:30 am in the morning under a cream colored fluffy coverlet because I can't sleep in anticipation of a Christmas trip. Your video was much appreciated by me. You could chase ducks in the garden I would watch anyway your laugh makes me laugh and smile everytime. Very professionally done. The tablescape was sending warmth and elegance across the ocean to America. Cant wait to see more from this channel.
High tea (as we call it) is an absolute favourite of mine as it always feels like such a special occasion. I love the pleasure of using beautiful tableware and indulging in the ‘deliciousness’ of all the daintily presented food. Your vlogs are very enjoyable Philip and I always look forward to the next one. Since you asked for comments, my only request is, could the music volume be lowered (or off) when you are speaking please? 🧁🫖🥂🎄🥰
Philip I agree with those who say you were just a wee bit fast st some points, not all the time. It's not a criticism, just a suggestion and kindly meant. People who aren't fond of you as we are, wouldn't bother. We care about you being really successful with your channel. Keep it up, it's lovely to watch!
What a beautiful table, Phillip! I so appreciate this because as silly as it sounds, I have felt "table setting anxiety" before, wondering if I will be judged or criticized for doing something wrong in my formal place setting. I love that you say we can make up our own rules. That really takes the pressure off!! Keep the table settings coming! ~~God Bless
Lovely, Philip! Congrats on the new channel! As a long term subscriber/patron of The Chateau Diaries it’s wonderful to see this extra glimpse into your experience there. Like Stephanie’s channel yours is very soothing to the soul :) I’d love to see some rummages through brocantes from your perspective and a wander through your collection when you have the time. Take care :)
I already saw Stephanie's video on making the food. Such a grand time was had! And to see you warm the room and set such a lovely table! You have found your niche, my dear! Brightest Blessings!
You should write a book about how to set a table for each occasion and room. It's amazing to see a young man caring about the house and the art of receiving guests, it's just inbred in you. ❤️🌹
Well Philip that’s a perfect afternoon tea table….I always put flowers on but when you added the candles they were the finishing touch & it didn’t need flowers at all. Just lovely. Thank you 💕
Wonderful table setting Philip! It reminds me of high tea at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. Thank you for bringing a some Christmas joy into my day. Cheers from my little quarantine room in China.
I love following the LaLand adventure team ….. my suggestion …… over time ….. expand into the things you love in life ….. style - art - dealing with food allergies ( me too ) - shopping for treasures ( for the home bound & those who never have done so ) - maybe even favorite books - and life of course at LaLand ……. I see so many possibilities ….. Health - Happiness - Love - Laughter to you & yours - and to all the LaLanders ( in spirit all over the world )
Beautiful..thank you Philip..... enjoying your snippet vlogs 👍🏻. Personally would have put the dessert spoon and fork across the top of the place setting..... my preferred way......or if you don't want .... would have put the cake fork and spoon inside the knife and fork....as you always work outside in....also would have added a teaspoon in the saucer for stirring tea....but it all looked delicious and I hope you all enjoyed 😁! I too love collecting china...cutlery... glassware etc.....silver... candles and linens ...am so surprised that not a lot of people want them these days....it's a shame as very few people set a table and enjoy a conversation..... preferring to sit with a tray in front of the TV...or any other screen.... and not communicating! Stephanie's Advent present to you...book on table settings was perfect and a lovely way to build memories👍🏻. My Father worked on Cunard liners as a First Class Steward....plus other liners...working his way up from bellboy.....and he still sets the table properly for every meal and taught me too as a child. Mt Grandfather too always set the table properly even when he ate alone. Father coming would not sit down if our table was not set properly....you had to check everything...but it was all done in a nice way never shouted at....the look was enough 😂! He also taught me how to lay a tray and everyone loves it when I do the "tea tray". My daughter takes photos and sends to her friends...as they love it too when I go to hers and they come round. Even our very youngest generation always insist on eating cake with a patisserie fork!
Loved it all but thought just a simple Christmas decoration , maybe a few White Christmas Balls layed across the middle somewhere would have added to your Red tablecloth and candlestick ♥️
Beautiful!! Go candid more. You’re more vibrant and brilliant than you give yourself credit for!! Your days will suck us in. Especially with the La Land family. Your candid is beautiful. Film a “raw chateau during production” lifestyle. May your relationships prosper!! You and Stephanie are beautiful souls who thrive on another but shine also as individuals. Rare, gorgeous people. Be. Love! Laugh. Teach. You’re wise and we can learn.
I love you are doing this channel @Phillip Janssen it's the prefect escape for a 'porcelain-aholic' and I can keep my own temptations at by with watching your lovely settings with the amazing collections ever growing at Lalande. Now, I just need more time to watch all my favourite videos and get my own work done :)
Sooooooo beautiful! Thank you for sharing with us your tea, can’t wait to see what else you teach us! Absolutely stunning. I like that you allowed the food to be the show case instead of flowers, the added candles were a nice touch too. Lol hugs and love from Texas!
A very beautiful table Phillip. The porcelain with the gold and gold cutlery make it especially Christmassy and festive. Have a wonderful high tea Christmas! Sonia & Steven McVicar 🌲💖🍒🌠
I like your non traditional French placement of the dessert fork to balance the other place settings. Lovely very Christmasy tea setting. Looks warm and festive. Maybe you could incorporate in future videos why you place forks, spoons and knives in a particular order in the table for each meal course.
Beautiful Philip! you have done a great job and Stephanie and Michael as well, everything looked like it would taste wonderful, as well. Such an elegant table ! Thank you fr sharing this delightful 'Tea.' turned into a meal as well.
I am from the generation where we all received China when we were married, now it just sits and collects dust. It is so nice to see your enthusiasm for a beautifully dressed table. It inspires me to break out my China and start using it again. Several things I would be interested in knowing more about is the China itself you have on the table, each time, you have so much! Also how you wash it after its use and store it after. Also how many people do you feel really is a good number for a dinner party? Or even what that definition is! Thanks Philip, you are so refreshing to watch and by they way, watching you sing Oklahoma in your native language was very interesting ! ( I am a American) you have a great voice, I sang right along in English! Merry Christmas!
Phillip...Christmas is my favorite Holiday and you have represented it beautifully. I love your Vlogs, especially because they are beside Stefanie’s vlog so we can see the ending result, such as she made the tea sandwiches and Michael did the sconces. The ending result was spectacular!
Beautifully laid table - gorgeous still shots - perfect setting for an evening afternoon tea, very cozy and full of cheer! … Perhaps tell us a bit about the china and the tableware that you have chosen. You have such a wealth of knowledge about these things and I have enjoyed learning about it on the Chateau Diaries. So glad you have ventured forth with this channel, Philip.
Congratulations Philip on another lovely video. Thank you for sharing the overall process, as well as highlighting via the additional footage, some of the details. Is there a possibility you will also do additional videos, (these could be put together eventually as apart of an actual particular focused playlist) with guidance as to the various recipes used for each particular occasion created? Perhaps also step by step videos could be provided (within the eventual playlist also) of the how-to aspects of the actual food preparation as it goes through to the stage of considering layout & presentation on specific types of dishes? If not, (as that would be a great additional undertaking no doubt), what is currently being shared is certainly just so lovely and so very inspiring, so thank you very much again for sharing another lovely and inspiring video. Well done Philip, on embracing your joy of beautiful household items that help to be hospitable and a gracious host. It is wonderful to see someone doing that here on the RUclips platform.
I love how you set each table for different event! Would you please go visit a fabric store sometime for us Americans I would like some more creative ways to decorate a table!
Philip, this is so beautiful and inviting, again! But more than that, I’ve had a nasty stomach bug since 0400 my time. Even the abstract thought of food has had brutal results. Two things happened today to turn my spirits around. The first was receiving the Patreon photo cards from Château de Lalande! Just made me so happy! And then came your video, and all the incredible foods just looked so attractive! First time all day I was attracted to food, but such is the magic that Stephanie and Michael baked up, and your magic in the presentation.
I'd love to see guests seated, sandwiches and scones being passed, tea being poured, and a little afternoon (or evening tea) banter. I love to learn, while demonstration gives a vicarious thrill. 💜💜💜
Phillip, you are a man born in the wrong century. I really appreciate the way you boldly go about being your true self. The world would be a better place with more real gentle and kind men like you. I am so happy that you found your love and lifestyle that so well suits you.
Philip.. you were definitely born out of your time.. and need a horse to get around. You really do. lol.
a magnifcant steed so you can gallop through those gates, into the Courtyard, dismount and hand the horse to a lakey and stride into the chateau and sweep Stephanie off her feet. ahh.. fantasties.. lol..
Love that you are not bound by convention, but set the beautiful table YOU want! Great table, great atmosphere 💚🎄💛

Phillip, I think you should photograph all of your beautiful table settings and in a years’ time you’ll end up with a beautiful book that you can publish and sell. 🍽
I suggest he charges £50 for the book.
@@JfK--OBJECTivE stop that's the kind of encouragement that makes people think viewers will buy them a chateau. :-)
Brilliant! Add an affect to the table reveal,,, show before and after....add a sparkle for after. Beautiful music 🎶
Your gift of setting tables is marvelous. 👍🏼💖one small idea for this late afternoon tea setting would be that some greens instead of flowers had given a touch of nature to it like small pine twigs in between 🌿
Love love love short videos! I find them instructive and practical. Great job Philip!
I LOVE when you laugh....another beautiful table setting! Thank you Philip!!!
Philip - I find myself expecting a pan shot/very close up showing us the patterns of the plates/cutlery/napkins before you put them on the table. I miss this detail. Yes, I agree!🙂
And I would have loved a talk-through of all the food, with slow panning over it all. After all, it is all about the food!
Beautiful afternoon tea table Philip i love the red and gold so warm and inviting you are doing wonderful videos i am very much enjoying watching your channel 😊
Wonderful Philip. Can I book a table for two please? 🥰🫖☕️ The tree looks quite magnificent in the corner🎄❤️
Lovely! The candles were a perfect compliment!
It is so nice to see someone your age take a interest in setting a table. No one seems to do that anymore. I love a nice table.
Phillip you are so blessed to be living at LA Lande. Your love of China and silver is so evident. So glad you started your own channel. You need to do one at a brocante to show how you look and pick items for yourself and for the Chateau. Keep up the good work.

The food was as much for decoration as for eating. Lovely!
Lovely table I would love to have the space to have different dinner /tea sets Love the candles. Well done again Phillip x

Lovely, elegant setting. The setting compliments the tree in the background.
Awesome job Phillip! I'm enjoying your vlogs. Keep them coming! Brocanting for antique China and cutlery sets will be awesome too! Thx for sharing
How about a romantic dinner for 2 table.....love everything keep it up....
It looks really lovely Philip, the big fat candles on the gold pillars make it super Chateauxy ! X
Again absolutely beautiful. 🦋💟☮️🦋
I am loving the table setting, it is a joy. Lovely to see the various services in use. One of my fondest memories is of a table setting tour we went on as a fundraiser, just fabulous. Thank you.
Love all your tables Philip. Thanks for sharing with us.
How inviting!!!! So simple but tres elegant.
Looks perfect Phillip
Sending lot’s of love ❤️
Great job Philip, beautiful table setting. X much love to you all. Merry Christmas. ❤️🌲⛄️🤶
It's so important to know how to set a beautiful table. It promotes civility and appropriate table behavior. Happy eating!
Very enjoyable it’s lovely to see you taking such great care with table settings when so many just eat on the couch. Inspiring 🌷🌷
Love the whole vibe. Sparkling lights on the mantle add to the ambiance The only thing missing is more detail on your channel on the menu for the tea. Excellent placement of tableware and glassware. Such an inviting table Philip. Lovely
I think it looks ABSOLUTELY beautiful Philip!!!! Perfect choices, candles are further ‘icing’ n the cake!!!! The china is sumptuous!!!!
What gorgeous photography of your beautiful table setting, Philip! I love that you had some good chuckles too and kept it light. Well done!!
Lovely, Philip! Congrats on the new channel! As a long term subscriber/patron of The Chateau Diaries it’s wonderful to see this extra glimpse into your experience there. Really excellent job, Philip. Great video and nice editing. Don't forget to mic yourself. Beautiful smile.
Another beautiful table setting Philip. Thank you 😊
Another lovely place setting! To me, it's art. I love the variety and practicality of it all.
What a beautiful table Philip. If you know what they are, would you mind listing the china patterns when you set a table. I love that china pattern.
So great you are showing people how to set a beautiful table. I grew up in a family where these delightful tea parties were fun and important.
Well Philip that’s a perfect afternoon tea table….I always put flowers on but when you added the candles they were the finishing touch & it didn’t need flowers at all. Just lovely. Thank you 💕

Phillip...Christmas is my favorite Holiday and you have represented it beautifully. I love your Vlogs, especially because they are beside Stefanie’s vlog so we can see the ending result, such as she made the tea sandwiches and Michael did the sconces. The ending result was spectacular!
Philip the table looks lovely! You definitely know how to lay a beautiful table!
Love the setting and color combinations. So inviting with the fireplace roaring. Wish I was there. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Geweldig, dank voor al die leuke suggesties. Daar wordt een mens blij van!
Woaww,very chic table,et tres appetissant!😋👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻🤩😘😘👋♥️
I love that the first step to setting the table was lighting the cozy fire. 🧡
Your so visual talented Phillip, you always set a beautiful table! Looking forward to the next setting! ❤️🇨🇦
Thank you Phillip-truly enjoy these snippets on gracious living!
The China is Isabelle’s “Fleur de Lys” by Spode gold. I live to know the story about the China, silver & crystal, too.
What beautiful warm colours !! From the Christmas decorations,to the entire cutlery and tablecloth with the coordinates.
With coordinating colours … Bravo Philip 🥂🥰❤️
Phillip what a gorgeous table setting. And the China is beautiful. It really makes one want to sit and eat. Absolutely gorgeous
That is an absolutely beautiful and inviting table! Love it!
Lovely!!
Love the look, your presentation and your voice and demeanor.
Very charming!
Your vlog inspired me to have a cozy Christmas tea at home with my family instead of going out. Beautiful, festive Christmas tea table! 🫖🎄
It’s stunning Phillip, I’ll come for afternoon tea at La Lande anytime. Xxx❤️🇬🇧😘😍
I'd love to see guests seated, sandwiches and scones being passed, tea being poured, and a little afternoon (or evening tea) banter. I love to learn, while demonstration gives a vicarious thrill. 💜💜💜
A little bit of that was on Stephanie’s channel The Christmas Diaries:)
Nice editing suggestion.
I agree. To see the guests enjoying themselves at the table would be lovely. Well done Phillip! ☺️
