Goodies turned up in the post, so I thought you might enjoy having a look at what I've been wasting my pension on😂
A more in-depth review of the Ebro Miniatures range, a look at some flags and how to get your mitts on a freebie download to build your SCW force or
faction.

These are amazing figures and thanks there
The top flag looks like an Atora suet packet.
Forward, lads, there's a steak and kidney pudding at the end of this for you all😂
Thanks for the Ebro review they look really nice, just waiting for a small order from them to drop through the letter box
oooohhhhh, what did you order?
@@aviewfromtheduckpond a few sample packs to have a look 1,5,41 and 58 and some head sets
@@clivewaterhouse2802 let me know what you think of them.
I like Chain of Command in some ways, but the reinforcements/support rules is not compatible with my storage space XD. Bolt Action works better for me, less "flavour" but enough special rules for the period. That "Espana" makes my eyes bleed...why didn't they configure spanish keyboard? Ñ! XD
Great "Hasta mañana", muy bien pronunciado 😁 👏👏👏
Bolt Action is another great set of rules. I've yet to see if period-specific lists exist for the rules, so I must do that.
I will make sure I remember to add accents to letters😂
There is an unofficial "Bolt Action Guerra Civil" PDF but in spanish, with a lot of Ñ...maybe a translation will be fine, I'll try to contact the designers 🤔
@@pacofores It might be worth a translate, there are a few players over here that like the period, and I should think there may be more in the US.
I just printed off Espana last week, currently painting Empress/Anglian Civil Guard and Carabineros. Dragged my SCW stuff out of storage and ordered alot more going big, at least a Section(Platoon in English terms ) of each faction, a Company of IB/Republican Army and a full Centuria of Militia. Purchased a lot of books as well that wernt available before.
Nice one. Would love to see some of the finished figures. What books have you picked up? Lots of great stuff doing the rounds.
@@aviewfromtheduckpond I will send you some pics when Im able, my main problem now is matching the stufff I painted way back. There is also scale creep in the Empress stuff the latest Republican figures are a head taller than the originals! Ive not decided what IB im doing I will probably do muliple flags so I can swap them around. Not much interest in the English/American Battalions myself, unfortunately the amount of books concentrating on those Battalions in the last decade gives the impression they were in a majority in the IB when they were a minority.
@A View From The Duck Pond Ive got Henry Buckley, a couple by Alexander Clifford, German Military Vehicles SCW, Peter Kemp all available at reduced price and Charles Esdaile which is a Military History bit pricey but I wanted something not from the political angle. A few others as well. Look here for some bargains. Naval & Military Press. Im finding alot of other recent books in English have a pretty biased political outlook with not mich understanding of the military aspects.
@@andysykes4328 That's very true. I've read the Kemp book and Frank Thomas' account as I like to get a viewpoint from both sides. I will be sure to check out the titles/authors you mention. Picked up the German military vehicles in the SCW by Mata, Molina and Manrique , it's a great reference source.
@@andysykes4328 I've started writing down the paint colours I use and have even made up some colour charts😂 If I mix up a colour, I note which paints I used so I can refer back. Still love the old Anglian/Empress minis, and yes they have got a little bit taller. I do love the Ebro stuff though, so will gradually replace all my old metals with those😳
Falange is pronounced Falan-Hey
Thanks for that info, I will make sure I say it properly from now on 😊
