This is just a simple video showing how I make a little crankbait with a Bluegill paint scheme. FISH WITH YOUR MASTERPIECE LURE MAKING COURSE: www.marlingbai... INSTAGRAM: / marlingbaits
I'm a hobbyist woodworker and I enjoy making furniture pieces and other wood projects. I also love to bass fish so I started looking into what it takes to make a lure. After watching some of your videos I realize it's probably not for me. The woodworking part is nothing, but I simply don't have that kind of artistic talent. Kudos to you for having that kind of talent. Incredible! If I ever did make lures all of them would be called "Midnight".
Nice work. When i used to make my own crank baits i would use a metal spinner blade rather than plastic for the bib. This meant i could bend it either way till i got the perfect swimming action.
I was intrigued to make lures as a kid. I'd use flat washers as the water lip to weight it but never could get the hooks to stay in. I'd use tiny eye screws and they'd pull out when hit but still they would get strikes and that kept me excited as a kid.
im gonna be honest, I have seen talent people but you are truly amazing and passion making this lure, im not doubt you got a lot clients who buy your lures, and I want to buy some, for force you to keep making this amazing lures, lol... I respect to much your passion and the less I can make is rolling this video and sharing, Master... greetings to you and your family.
4th time in about 3 years watching this video. This is actually the one that put you on the map for me. And "knowing " the Nate that we all know now... there's something almost surreal about watching your older vids where nothing is said. Love it!
Thank you so much for the paint part of the video you showed me a new way to paint yellow perch pike and sunfish I don't know why I didn't think of that blue and yellow make green now I don't have to keep painting different colors to get the effect I wanted great video as all ways can't wait for the next video great lure
Love the paint scheme! Square bill shallow running Crankbait! I usually fish plastics, Spinnerbaits, swim jigs, chatterbaits, some Flippin jigs not much on Crankbaits. Shore fisherman and it's kinda hard to get out where the fish are. My daughter busted my Flippin Stick, but I repaired it with a new top guide. Now it's a 7' 0" heavy Catfishin rod. 1/2 oz - 2 oz 14 - 30 lb line spec. Gotta keep one of my rods and reels & box of tackle in my truck in case I get to find a place to fish while I'm out & about! Not many places like what Ya'll have there in Texas. I keep on tryin to find places! You & the family, Need more vids of Max fishin with you!! Reminds me of myself and fishin with dad!! Tell Max that I wanna see his PBs. He's gonna turn out to be a real good boy!! Ozzy too!
Beautiful job, lure looked great. My only criticism is that I thought it was a little too gold, but that is my personal preference and doesn't change the fact that this lure is a display of masterful skill, not only in the painting, but also in the creation and craftsmanship, shown in making this awesome lure.
I enjoy watching you make the crankbait. Very much so got to say you detailed it all the way never knew one with me like that. You really got Hands-On Skills. But after you was done you took it for a test run. Which I thought it was cool it did what it supposed to do in the water. I just did not see it catch any fish that is the biggest thinking about a lure when we go fishing we want to see if they catch fishs. Which disappointedly it did not catch a fish. next time please do a video where you are fishing and catching fish with your lures that you have made. Again thank you for your show.
Sir,you truly have been Blessed with the amazing gift of craftsmanship. Its awesome how you've showed us how to make them BUT by seeing your hard work, effort and skills I'd rather Buy one from you.Not sure how to go about it but if these ever go forf sale I'm ready to buy.Great video.Greetings from San Antonio Tx.
I love how he throws things around with gusto! So work bench beast mode! - Just finished watching the whole, thing, thank you this is incredible. On your website now.
Dude this is seriously awesome! I've been into woodworking for a long time but I recently started making lures as well as airbrushing! Really beautiful looking crank bait!
Really cool stuff, I am interested in making my own as I like woodworking and am too broke to buy lures. Why does he dip in polyurethane before airbrushing?
Beautiful layering of the colors coming from a background of model and warhammer 40k, I do appreciate the depth of color/pattern. I really need to learn air brushing.
Love the homage to "prim tech". That there is sure fine lookin crank bait. It's beautiful man and it will sure enough catch fish. Stoked that I found your channel! Mind blown.
Very, very nice! If you block cut the body it will save you heaps of time in the shaping process, not to mention alleviating the need to get fingers close to the bandsaw cutting on an irregular shape........
talk about a roller coaster of emotions... it looks ok, wow it looks great, what happened it looks bad, wait a minute, it looks great, nope again bad, it's looking better, omg what's happening it's horrible, wait, what....no, no!!! okay, okay, okay, interesting, okay, okay, I am liking it... yes, keep it up, yes, yes!!! My God this turned out to be beautiful!!!
WOW. Very impressive. A lot of passion goes into making such a fine piece. I'd love to have a "set" one day for display. Keep posting the vids, loved watching this one!

The paint is for the fisherman. Not the fish😉
More of a work of art than just a lure.
And that's how a $100 custom crankbait is made. Hand made work! Great video and your talent is solid.
You've come a long way with your videos. Watching back 3-5 years of your content. Liking the direction you've taken👍
This video has inspired me to try my hand at making some. Excellent workmanship, skill, and patience.

Beautiful bait. Liked the format of the video. Seemed more of a ASMR but for we whom have followed you for a long time it was quite enjoyable.
serious talent and serious shop WOW!!!
I’ve never seen anyone dry paint that way. Pretty cool
Me: spends days making a perfect crankbait
Also me: makes one cast and gets snagged
Me again: gives up fishing forever
I’ve done that. Casted a brand new jig once and it got snagged and broke off. I went home for the day.
