Sem contar que ainda tinham o Dave Abbruzzese. Até hoje não entendo porque os caras simplesmente boicotaram ele, nem no Hall of Fame foi lembrado pela banda. Uma pena mesmo…
+LMcDIronworks YES SIR! I was 17, with lil sis and friends, Frying hard! Eddie was WASTED! Such amazing memories! Cypress Hill!!!! Seaweed! Lazy Susan, etc etc
+Scott Anderson for the looks everyone is wasted!!!but hey i wish i was there...good drugs great music!!!what can i ask more??i believe that in the early 90´s the best music was made..over the good drugs they used!!at least my self when high on good stuff i thought like never before..and i know bans play better when everyone is high!!!
It takes a lot to show these raw emotions in front of hundreds of ppl. To actually break down in front of their fans. He has a big heart. This is beautiful
This is then, now, and forever my favorite song. I think I wore out Ten when I was going through personal issues in 91. I love how he always sings it so passionately.
If Eddie is the reason DAve is no longer the drummer I will forgive you but never forget what you did to one of the greatest to ever bang on a drum kit!
Being at this concert was one of the most amazing physical and eccesential experiences of my youth. Being young at that time, in that City, with those ARTIST"S living and breathing and eating a movement, a time that changed everything that we knew!!!! We knew something was 'blowing in the wind' as Bob Dylan put it many years before. That WIND was stronger and more changing than we could have ever dreamt in the late summer of '92 when that wind was kicking up before our eyes and ears.
If you watch another version of this performance, Eddie states that its hard to sing it. Too much emotion if you ask me. That is why he skipped a line because it hurts to sing. Not his breath, he has unbelievable vocal control.
Totally. I love that because this song of all their 2,850 songs is my absolute favorite for the same reason (reminds me of lost love) but it still makes me giggle that in Sept 1992 (when this is recorded) that he says "we stopped playing this FOR A REALLY LONG TIME ebcause it's hard to sing" yet the album came out the year before. Hehehe.. I mean, here we are in 2020 and he still sings it live so NOW it's a "really long time" from 1991, not in 1992. Hehe. Everything is relative.
It is indeed this very performance where he says it's hard to sing (but does not elaborate why) and hasn't performed it for awhile..it was cut right before the song starts in this video. If you go find this full concert, you'll hear him say it immediately before where this vid starts. The truth is likely this song is too personal for him to sing.. Read the comments on various Black videos and you can piece it all together. I've seen other documentary type videos mention that he was angry when the record label wanted to release Black as a single, and then did so apparently against his wishes, because the song was too personal for him to sing live.
It's about his first love who he deeply loved, who was with him all through the events of his adolescence with his mother, father, step-siblings. Seemingly his only support through everything is how I understand it. He thought they'd be together forever but she had other plans. He was blindsided to say the least.
Probably one of the very best performances of Pearl Jam ever captured on film..... 10/ VS Pearl Jam was simply the best.... so much raw emotion they had back then in their music
Truly on of my favorite PJ songs so I've heard many many versions.... Being this is one of the early takes - it is unbelievably full of emotion, truth and pain... That is what's makes the song it's self outstanding.
I know this was so long ago... but I'm mesmerized being a witness to someone's true emotional pain being expressed in song. What's really annoying is watching all those bodies floating around in the sea of oblivion.
Anyone notice how he changes the lyric in Verse 2 - "I can feel YOUR laughter, so why do i sear?" This makes it as if hes talking to a child, maybe a specific child, making it seem to support the story Ive heard that this song is about his long term high school girlfriend who broke up with him and also possibly had an abortion. She was his support system through all of the hard things he endured growing up. From this angle, you can see why singing this song about losing such a vital person in your life you thought would always be there and suddenly isnt, and going through an abortion would be difficult to sing about. I think he's speaking to & about his unborn child in Verse 2.
I cant even imagine being there. I would have done anything to have attended but I was only 3 years old! What a thing for a band to do, put on a free concert for 33,000 fans, incredible.. Your a lucky man
I loved the days when we could still legally do that kinda stuff! I was crowd surfing at a Korn concert and got dropped directly on my crainium, didn't sue anyone and got up, dusted myself off and jumped back up on the crowd. Pearl Jam wil ALWAYS symbolize a ertain freedom I have, in my current life, lost. I would give my two big toes to be at that concert.
It’s amazing how I see n read these PJ vids from the early 90’s til bout 1995 n all you see is Dave A this n Dave A that, never would I take the skills of Dave A filling in cuz their drummer was personally having his troubles, but I won’t foruthe main reason I love this band from the moment I heard them, n not just the songs Eddie was belting out, it was the sound that made me say wow who are these guys, mainly Dave Krusen, who def doesn’t get the recognition he deserves cuz my family came with a history of drummers n all believed that was a sound no1 can duplicate, yes I’m saying it, Krusen you were amazing on Ten n no1 will touch you playing that album as u did, I’m just a fan from day one, n the scary drumming dug deep into my soul b4 anything else n ty for what you’ve done to make me a Pearl Jam for life
@AlexCountsJams: Look at the rest of this concert. Eddie was going all out. And in the early 90's, Eddie had a great voice, but his technique was bad. Someone told him that he needed to quit taxing his voice so much or he'd lose it, which is why he stopped screaming and stuff around the '96 tour. That's why Eddie keeps losing lines here, he didnt control his voice that well. But honestly this is one of my favorite performances of Black.
dave is the best drummer they have ever had.
dude in the back is in the zone!
That guy was at all the concerts back then and always danced in the back of the stage like that. I forget his name.
Andrea Cham Larry Steiner..Seattle legend.
CarNag3 V5 My first real gig ‘94 Adelaide ! Forever memory 🤘🏻
He's on some decent gear fck how good were the 90's
The last two minutes of this song is incredible. Its so powerful and emotional.. You can just hear it in his voice..
hey fuckers... anybody listen this song in 2022? it s so fucking Hard crazy to me yet.
You mean the first 5 minutes and 21 seconds.
Yeps🎉@@jordanpratt3821
How he feels the song & stops for a second out of pure pain & emotion.. So beautiful
This is easily one of the most emotional performances of this song that I've ever seen.
Nikki checkout PJ black (pinkpop 92)
I think it rivals pink 92
His voice is perfection

Love the guy behind Dave going nuts!

He’s a kind and gentle fragile soul. Take care mr ed ‘veteran’ vedder ....

The sound quality is insane. Recording through wire.

Worst performance of "black"??? Are you serious? It was a hell of a performance. PURE RAW EMOTION.
