Robb is just being positive for his mom as they hadn’t found any bodies but ultimately Robb got word about what Theon did. There’s a part of Robb that also doesn’t believe Theon actually did it. That’s from the books

Jaime didn't want milk of the poppy because he was afraid he'd wake up with no arm. Qyburn is working for Roose Bolton, a Northman. The North needs Jaime alive as a valuable hostage, but they don't need him happy. Jaime was worried they would put him under and take the whole arm off, as Qyburn said that would be the safest choice.

fun fact! in the books, the unsullied are periodically given new names - one week they might be grey worm, the next, red rat, etc -- so the "this name is a lucky one" hits a little bit harder

Margaery is so much more than a butt kisser! She behaves that way towards Joffrey because it works. When she was with her grandmother and Sansa in the garden, she was honest.

I absolutely LOVE Tywin. He is hands down my favorite character in the entire show. The line "YOU'RE MY DAUGHTER" is so intimidating that broke Cercei back to being a little girl...
My favorite tidbit about Grey Worm’s introduction scene in the books: the Unsullied actually choose a new vermin-based name every day, so they don’t get attached to one identity either. So him saying “Grey Worm is the name this one chose the day that Daenerys Stormborn set him free” is even more poignant.
The scene with Tywin, Tyrion and Cersei is fire, Charles Dance commands that performance, it must have been fun to work with someone of that caliber on such a scene, actors hope for such perfectly scripted scenes.

Everyone thinks Bran and Rickon are dead. Robb and Cat too. It's why she set Jaime free in the first place, she thought her sons were dead and became desperate to save her daughters. There is no discrepancy.
Also Sandor was Joffrey's sworn shield. That's the term you were thinking of.
thanks for the clarification on Sandor but in episode 2, Robb said everyone in winterfell was killed but he didn't know what happened to bran and rickon because they never found them. Are u sayin he was just saying that to ease telling his mother?

@@LegenbarryReactionsI don’t think people would’ve thought Bran and Rickon were dead when Cat released Jamie but only after the news came that Winterfell was massacred in episode 2. I think the reason Robb and Cat weren’t sure what happened whereas everyone else assumes they died is just because they are trying to keep hope that their family members are alive. In the next episode, Cat even said she’ll never see her sons again implying she knows deep down they are probably dead.

This Karstark situation seems to be just the sort of thing the Night's Watch is meant to handle. If Rob had sent him to the Wall as punishment he could avoid any kinslaying consequences, and maybe kept the Karstark armies (though probably not).

A thing to know about the character names in rhis series is a parent will keep a syllable from a parent's name. Examples: Tyrion, son of Tywin, son of Tytos. The repeat sound of Ty. Jehor Mormont, Lord Commander of the Night's Watch is the father of Jorhar Mormont advisor to Dani, repeat sound of Jor.
GRRM borrowed this from the Saxons, they did the same thing.
That's an interesting tidbit but it does make me wonder why Jamie's name wouldn't have been the one to pass that on to since he was older?

As far as I'm aware, "king's sword" isnn't an official title, but a "sworn sword" is a warrior sworn to serve an individual (not necessarily the king). The Hound was a sworn sword to Joffrey, but was so since before Joffrey became king.

Random thought, Jorah is a traitor for selling poachers into slavery. Yet multiple men are sent to the wall for poaching, or theft, you cannot leave the wall and are required to work, under threat of death....which is slavery.
Don't forget the Mad King's stashes of wildfire placed all around Kings Landing. Only Jaime and he most likely also told Tyrion, probably Pycelle knows and now Brienne as well. How important was this conversation in the hot bath?
Shireen sings a very important song from an intriguing character, Patchface who was left out of the show, sadly, and who was Shireen's faithful companion and friend. Listen to that song in full again, it is very prophetic.

He beheaded Karstark instead of hanging him because it's considered an honorable death compared to hanging. And Robb felt Karstark deserved that honor.

Milk of the Poppy is straght Heroin and Jaime doesnt want to be completley defenceless not just because he dont trust Qyburn but because he doesnt trust the Northerners. Also even though he would have other ways of getting the information you forget Vaarys could have told Tywin about the deaths of the Starks

The curse Karstark’s talking about in the beginning of the episode is the same curse that Grey Worm talks about towards the end: the names their families gave them. For Robb, the Stark name is a curse because executing Karstark makes him a kinslayer. Meanwhile Jaime sheds the name Kingslayer in a baptism by fire when Qyburn burned away the corruption and he names himself Jaime in the bath with Brienne. Like the story he tells Brienne of the Mad King wanting to burn and come back as a dragon, he is reborn but Jaime 2.0 is “a bit less” like how Beric said with one fewer hand. Speaking of fewer, Davos was knighted as the Onion Knight only after losing a few fingers. Oh and the unsullied are a bit less without their pillars and/or stones.

I think the best option for Robb to punish Lord Karstark would to make him join the Night Watch. That’s considered a fair punishment in the North (Ned was supposed to join the Watch when Joffrey executed him). So I think the Karstark men would have been ok with that and not left like they did when Robb executed their Lord.

You asked who should be king, and although this is a very unpopular opinion, my answer is Tywin Lannister.
Hear me out. Tywin is very much a "big picture" kind of guy. A strategist with intellect and cunning. Dispassionate when most are ruled by their passions, a realist when most are either idyllists or egoists. A man who clearly sees solutions to problems and is irked when others are slow to comprehend. No one would say that Tywin is "kind" or "just", but there is some kind of moral code there. Take this as an example: Tywin acknowledges that Tyrion is his son, a Lannister by birth with all the privilege that entails, even though Tywin blames him for killing his beloved wife. Most in Westeros would have either denied Tyrion, making him a bastard, or worse, killed baby Tyrion outright. Tywin's interactions with Arya might be another example.
Just a reminder that Jon and Ygritte's actors fell in love during the filming of this then got married. lol
