Great comparison! I have the Soncoz LA-QXD1and it's all I ever need. Great budget stuff. As for your setup, I don't mind the closer camera, but I think I prefer being able to see the mic. Just looks better in my opinion. Keep up the great work!
Just a heads up for anyone in the UK wanting to try the Soncoz sgd1, I ordered mine a while ago and after a couple of weeks the distributor (this is no longer Amazon but a Chinese reseller called youyeetoo) emailed me. I was told the cost of the DAC would increase due to customs charges etc and asked was I sure I still wanted it. The reasoning being it would be more costly and they would not want me to return it as shipping would be prohibitive! I cancelled the order. Right now there doesn’t seem to be a reseller in the UK who wants to supply these DAC’s (although youyeetoo are still offering them on Amazon!) there is one local reseller who will remain nameless and he refused also, stating low margin and shipping costs if returned to China. So… maybe if Soncoz want to supply a European market they might look into this as right now the Soncoz sgd1 is unobtainable here.

Can you save songs/radio stations in the device itself and make selections on the device? Or do you need to do all that through an app? Sorry, new to DACs, never seen one working ‘in the flesh’ 😀 Thanks! 👌
Hi Alastair, it's just a DAC and headphone amp so your music source is separate as either a phone, PC, streamer, or CD transport. Hope that helps and thanks for watching! 🙂🙂

Did you mean, that the Z6 can handle the Beyerdynamic Amiron Home @250Ohm very well? I`m searching for an rly good dac/amp combo for my Headphones for using on my PC for Tidal lossless quality and gaming. Otherwise there are more devices having my eyes on.. xDuoo TA-22, xDuoo XA-10 and maybe the Sabaj A20d *arg* :) when i had the choice... it`s hard to choose one
Yes, always hard to choose around this price range. The Z6 should do just fine with the Amirons though and its slightly smoother sound will help to ease off the treble of the Amirons too!
I actually think it looks great (on the silver DAC-Z6 - I prefer a different one on the black Z8). That said, everyone's entitled to a different opinion and there are three different VUs to choose from so you don't have to have the rainbow. 🙂

I haven't tried the D70 so can't comment on that one. My personal take on DACs vs amps is to spend about the same on each because a poorer DAC will limit what you can hear from a significantly better amp and vice versa
On the Z6 I’m getting mild static/cracking at low volume on IEMs from the headphone port. Anyone else experiencing similar? Happens on both low and high gain.
That sounds like an issue somewhere. Are you running USB into it? If so, perhaps test without the USB cable connected and feeding via Bluetooth to see if the problem remains.
@@PassionforSound Thanks for the reply, just tried unplugging all USBs and tried on Bluetooth but unfortunately the problem is still happening :(. It’s only when sound is playing, there’s no hiss or static when it’s silent. The IEMs are the 7hz Timeless, I have no problem with them on my phone or even plugged straight into my motherboard’s jack. Hoping I can debug the problem as I really want to keep it for those VUs haha.

The SGD1 actually has an internal linear power supply comprised of an even rarer 2 transformers. Pretty crazy at this price point.

That's a real shame! Perhaps the DAC-Z6 can fill that gap as I believe Eversolo are arranging/already have European distribution

would like to compare the Z6 against my much more expensive Qutest.
i just have the feeling it would not be much of a downgrade.
Sadly (because I love the Z6 interface), the Qutest will pretty well smash the Z6 ☹️

Fixed volume output? I didn't catch if either of them have frixed output or not.
No fixed output modes - you just max or the volume and it's the same thing 🙂

Like to know how SGD-1 works as a DDC - though not as many features the new SMSL SU-9 pro is great according to IWII reviews
I'm afraid I sold the SGD-1 after this review and I already owned the Singxer SU-6 so I didn't need to test the DDC function - sorry!

@stonerdoom8209 yes, the Z8 is definitely the better DAC IMO. The D70 Pro OCTO from Topping is also an excellent option around the same price.

No, you can choose from three different VU designs or just have the volume and sample rate showing.
Strange that the Eversolo DAC-Z6 has a weak amp, it is rated to be good for 300ohm cans.
It's probably just limited on current rather than voltage so will handle 300 ohm cans ok, but not the harder, lower impedance planars
