- Golf ball position set up basics that can help all golfers with Mark Crossfield golf professional. Mark is talking golf ball position in todays golf swing video and how it needs to be a free flowing idea and maybe not the ridged fixed idea it often is sold as. Where you place the golf ball in your golf stance is a key fundamental for good iron play and improved iron striking along with better tee shots and longer and straighter drives. Learning your golf ball position pattens that allow you to match your golf club delivery to your golf swing for more target balls can really help so many golfers learn how to shoot lower golf scores.
Golf videos can be a great source of learning and golf swing training but at the same time applying the info from a golf video to your golf game needs to give room for the student to grow and develop their own needs and ideas around better golf shots. Learning a simple fixed golf swing or set up plan can harm as many golfers as it helps. Let me know in the comments below if this makes sense and if you want to see more golf swing fundamentals videos to help you improve your golf and golf scores with the freedom to develop and learn.
Thanks for watching and I will be in the comments trying to help out with your golf question so lets here y'all.

This is why I love Mark’s videos! Not only are they ridiculously helpful and informative, but they’re explained in a way that makes so much sense! Thank you, Mark!!
the thinking golfers channel !!!!! thinking about the game, ways and affects of decisions and how they affect everything can only make you better
One of your best vids. Addresses one of my biggest struggles. Thank you. Saved and favorited.
Best ball position video ever! Plus love the new graphics and lesson summary after each session.
Really enjoyed that Mark can’t wait for the courses to be open .
So simple yet so effective and delivered in an understandable way. Thanks Mark
Love this video Mark, I have been struggling with ball position specially hybrids off the fairway and from a tee. I will definitely use this guide next time at the range
Thanks Mark , one of the best descriptions on ball placement and end results . this video is easy to follow.
Brilliant video Mark, one of the best you have ever published. Really easy to follow, full of great information, even for a 7 handicap.👍
Great food for thought as usual. Keep it up. Thanks Mark
Mark you are on fire recently with the videos! Smart, simple explanations even I can understand :)
One of the best golf tip videos ever. This should be a basic concept but I’ve never seen it addressed like this.
Mark, it makes a lot of sense. Great points on ball position for various clubs. Thanks
This is definitely an encouraging video to me. Seeing you play with ball positions makes me think that my practices at the range are going to be more realistic in some ways! Plus... they add an element of good fun!
Thanks for some great information, now I’m going to go out and experiment on different positions 👍👍
great topic and info. so many ways to play this game, hopefully to play better and ultimately have some fun....well done
Once again, excited to get down the range and start playing around with this, thank you!
Nice little reminder. Fingers crossedi can put it into practise soon
great vlog Mark this has already paid off for me. 👍👍
This kind detail is why I started following you. I enjoy this level of geekiness. Ball positions are very important when playing the game of golf.
Really useful info in this video. Thanks for sharing.
Mark, great refresher course here. And something to think about and experiment with at the range as opposed to mindlessly pounding balls. Thank you.
Great video Mark, vert informative and thought provoking, especially for a novice golfer, thanks very much.
Brilliant. Thanks, Mark.
Great video Mark! Reminds me of the videos you produced when I started following you several years ago. You have a brilliant way to communicate how to think your way to a better golf swing. Thank you!
Seriously the best ball position video I have ever seen. So nice to see someone getting away from teaching that there is only one way to do something.
really useful and possibly the best 15 minutes lesson i could of watched as i want to drop to single figure h/c this year, i watch you matt etc say i will cut one in draw it i now understand the set up. Cheers
This is the exact thing I've been working on this winter in the simulator bay. Love it bruh.
Great advice Mark, you're quite good at this coaching lark
Great video to take to the range (when you can) and see what different ball positions do for you.
Great video bruh I have always moved the ball around in my stance with all clubs, funkin shot's out trouble and into wind and around the greens too 👍 👍 👍 ⛳ 🏌️ 4⃣
Great video Mark, reminds me of being a skinny kid and having to learn these skills to compete. This is also what I used to play with in the garden as a kid.....really important skills. More of these please brah
excellent advice, can't wait to try it
That’s was great video Mark. You have certainly open my eyes onto the fact that the ball can we position in multiple different ways. I was always stuck on making sure I playing the ball from one particular spot depending on which club I was hitting. Truly eye opening. Thanks
MARK!!!! I am semi-new to golf. I have watched countless hours on instruction. This is one of the most, if not the most , eye opening videos I’ve seen to date. Thanks for the awesome content. Keep up the great work!!
Great video Mark!!!!!! Cheers!
Thanks Mark! I'll take this info to the range/course my next time out!
This is a great video, I am definitely adding it to my golf playlist so I can easily find it again. It has opened my eyes to new things.
Just quality, pick up and practice with, content! Great video, thank you! Just need an opportunity to practice now
Loved the video, as a high handicap golfer some of the technical stuff made my brain hurt but will take this to the range as soon as i get the chance, quality.
very useful. Trying to move the ball around next time I am out, especially the driver position
Mark, good stuff. My biggest difficulty is in alignment of my body to where I want to hit.
Awesome video... I've recently started working orkibg with a coach I like and been working on different shots, it gives me loads more options.
THANK YOU MARK !!!
Thanks Mark. Will need to have a go at trying this when we can get back out on the range as an alternative to changing up/down a club or hands forward/back to vary loft and flight from a more constant ball position (or have I missed your point)
Excellent vid Mark. These thoughts transformed my game no end.
Great video simple to follow. now if I had an open course to try it on😗😗
You do make sense at times Mark.
brilliant very inciteful thanks mark
Great video mark! Lots of wonderful information!
Great information and I’m sure I’ll improve from your advice.
Was just working on ball position, and you confirmed what I thought. I have an inside out path, and moving the ball forward helped a lot. Thanks!
As a follow up, would love thoughts on ball placement closer to and farther away, and how that changes ball flight as well.
good stuff mark, gives player the options to find what makes them functional without worrying about a fixed ball position.
I'm sure someone will try and find holes in your logic but I for one think this is great and is already something I try to do on the course so nice to know I'm on the right track even if I don't always get the end result I want
Brilliant video as always.
top one Mark! love it
Superb Mark, I remember watching this a year ago & wish I’d watched it again sooner than today as I’ve got into the bad habit of everything too far forward - net result some good, some pulls & some odd starting left with a weak fade. Back to basics & train back in my standard playing window, cheers👍
Lately, I been playing with these ideas. I had noticed this when I have played in the past year or so. Problem is remembering which to use. This will come in time by playing and being aware of the situation. Too all, Have a great day where ever you are.
Thanks Mark, good advice 👍
This video is gold.
I was just out on driving range on Saturday and I noticed I was bit fadey with my 7 iron moved it back inch and half in stance was getting wee baby draw started doing it with driver same kinda thing. Iv played for years and hadn't noticed it before. Will deffo be taking this new weapon on course.
Really enjoyed this thought provoking video. I don’t like all your videos (some are overly technical for me) however this vid made real sense and I’m looking forward to trying this at the range, whenever that will be! Thank you
Great as always !11
This was the most educational golf video I have watched.
Definitely move ball position around and experiment with it. Great video love these gaming tips 👍
Great video Mark
Great tips 👌 you solve my problems thx million 👍 😀
Brilliant can’t wait to test this out.
Really good video. Thanks
These are favourite vids Mark. The basics are so essential to keep practicing in order to keep improving.
me too man has helped my game so much! would love for you too check my hole in one video out pal!!! my man
This helps a lot. Stuff I've haven't thought about in a long time.
love this video. can't wait to get back out and try
Very interesting makes me want to go play with your suggestions Thanks
this video is great and makes a lot of sense. I never played with a "standard" ball position and all to often the people I am playing with try to tell everyone else where to place the ball. I have always argued that it's dependent upon the person.
I have a buddy who can hit the ball a long ways and he has a very narrow stance. I like Mark's coaching because it doesn't rely on the norms. Everyone is built differently so swings and ball positions will vary depending on the person. As long as the person has the basic fundamentals...IE hitting down with irons, not coming over the top..etc how they achieve it is an individual thing.
great video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
this is the vid every golfer should watch, great work
Great video. This helps me a lot once we can golf again.
Great content, as always, very informative !
Awesome video
Excellent video....

me too man has hekped my game so much! would love for you too check my hole in one video out pal!!!
As a senior a reminder always pays off!
Good job. Thanks.
great video
Very good video!
excellent video. favourited.
I'll be on the range trying this out at the weekend!
Learn bits and pieces every time. 👍
Mate. Great vid and info. I would be ok with driver but might struggle with irons controlling my low point if I moved the ball position about. I know it’s only inches but I struggle a bit as it is
In principle this is seriously sound advice. I've been trying these different positions for each club for a few years now. After all this effort and documenting the results I have come to the conclusion that I can hit a rubbish shot with every club from almost every ball placement. Or more rationally, I simply don't have the regular repeatable swing to benefit from this approach. But I will keep going in this direction simply because it makes sense as an objective.
Thanks!
Thoughts on Mike Adams and Terry rowles screenings and then adjusting stance swing path etc based on your physical disposition.
MARK MARK THANKYOU . YOU HAVE GREAT VIDEOS . BUT I WISH I HAD FOUND THIS BEFORE MY PAIRS SEMI FINAL TODAY WHERE I WAS A DISCRACE TO THE GAME . OUR FAIRWAYS WERE UNRECOGNISABLE AND I COULD NOT GET THE BALL OFF THE GROUND AND MY TEAM MATE KEPT US IN BEFORE LOSING 4&3
Well explained👍 I find if I go too far back with my wedges I get the dreaded😕
Very good video 👍😊
yes great stuff-
Awesome
