This is why I love Mark’s videos! Not only are they ridiculously helpful and informative, but they’re explained in a way that makes so much sense! Thank you, Mark!!
good stuff mark, gives player the options to find what makes them functional without worrying about a fixed ball position. I'm sure someone will try and find holes in your logic but I for one think this is great and is already something I try to do on the course so nice to know I'm on the right track even if I don't always get the end result I want
Great video Mark! Reminds me of the videos you produced when I started following you several years ago. You have a brilliant way to communicate how to think your way to a better golf swing. Thank you!
Superb Mark, I remember watching this a year ago & wish I’d watched it again sooner than today as I’ve got into the bad habit of everything too far forward - net result some good, some pulls & some odd starting left with a weak fade. Back to basics & train back in my standard playing window, cheers👍
Great video Mark, reminds me of being a skinny kid and having to learn these skills to compete. This is also what I used to play with in the garden as a kid.....really important skills. More of these please brah
MARK!!!! I am semi-new to golf. I have watched countless hours on instruction. This is one of the most, if not the most , eye opening videos I’ve seen to date. Thanks for the awesome content. Keep up the great work!!
this video is great and makes a lot of sense. I never played with a "standard" ball position and all to often the people I am playing with try to tell everyone else where to place the ball. I have always argued that it's dependent upon the person. I have a buddy who can hit the ball a long ways and he has a very narrow stance. I like Mark's coaching because it doesn't rely on the norms. Everyone is built differently so swings and ball positions will vary depending on the person. As long as the person has the basic fundamentals...IE hitting down with irons, not coming over the top..etc how they achieve it is an individual thing.
Fairly new to golf and you explained this so well about ball position and how it affects loft as well as fades and draws and how to create them when needed/wanted 👍
@@MarkCrossfield Just want you to know how much it has helped👍. No words can can show my appreciation. Instead of just wacking a ball around HOPING to get a good shot, and then the frustration when I don't, and not understanding why. Now knowing how find MY own "sweet spot" and work from there shaping shots, distance etc. I used to just whack it full force thinking that's what I needed to get distance, they would fly left and high.... really high (leftie in golf only). My ball was too forward in my stance and too high on the tee for me and losing distance. I didn't know where to place my feet or my club placement and proper grip at address. I changed from a weak grip to more neutral, slowed my swing from baseball bat like swing speed 🤣 I now hit my 7 and 8 iron (working on these 2 first) further than my driver. I need to change my flex graphite shaft from a women's to a men's regular graphite shaft. That was like night and day for my irons. purchased the Cleveland Launcher Halo XL irons and cannot be more happy with these and your RUclips education. I want to learn to do this the right way early as I'm fairly new to golf. Now I'm hitting further than the guys off the tee. But with this weaponry you've provided I can't wait to learn it all and use it. Thanks again. You're lessons are making golf my new obsession.😉
really useful and possibly the best 15 minutes lesson i could of watched as i want to drop to single figure h/c this year, i watch you matt etc say i will cut one in draw it i now understand the set up. Cheers
Loved the video, as a high handicap golfer some of the technical stuff made my brain hurt but will take this to the range as soon as i get the chance, quality.
This is definitely an encouraging video to me. Seeing you play with ball positions makes me think that my practices at the range are going to be more realistic in some ways! Plus... they add an element of good fun!
That’s was great video Mark. You have certainly open my eyes onto the fact that the ball can we position in multiple different ways. I was always stuck on making sure I playing the ball from one particular spot depending on which club I was hitting. Truly eye opening. Thanks
It makes perfect sense. I have recently changed my attitude at the driving range from trying to hit the perfect shot to being a child and experimenting. It has totally transformed my game. Thank you.
You all probably dont give a damn but does someone know a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I love any tips you can offer me!
In principle this is seriously sound advice. I've been trying these different positions for each club for a few years now. After all this effort and documenting the results I have come to the conclusion that I can hit a rubbish shot with every club from almost every ball placement. Or more rationally, I simply don't have the regular repeatable swing to benefit from this approach. But I will keep going in this direction simply because it makes sense as an objective.
Jack did move the ball to add or remove height. To hit a higher shot he would move the ball forward and open the face. To hit a lower shot he would move it back and close the face. If you've got the time you could look through his training vids from way back ruclips.net/video/f5c-g6Q1N7Q/видео.html Actually look at 01:05:21 in.
Really enjoyed this thought provoking video. I don’t like all your videos (some are overly technical for me) however this vid made real sense and I’m looking forward to trying this at the range, whenever that will be! Thank you
Was just working on ball position, and you confirmed what I thought. I have an inside out path, and moving the ball forward helped a lot. Thanks! As a follow up, would love thoughts on ball placement closer to and farther away, and how that changes ball flight as well.
Lately, I been playing with these ideas. I had noticed this when I have played in the past year or so. Problem is remembering which to use. This will come in time by playing and being aware of the situation. Too all, Have a great day where ever you are.
Love this video Mark, I have been struggling with ball position specially hybrids off the fairway and from a tee. I will definitely use this guide next time at the range
MARK MARK THANKYOU . YOU HAVE GREAT VIDEOS . BUT I WISH I HAD FOUND THIS BEFORE MY PAIRS SEMI FINAL TODAY WHERE I WAS A DISCRACE TO THE GAME . OUR FAIRWAYS WERE UNRECOGNISABLE AND I COULD NOT GET THE BALL OFF THE GROUND AND MY TEAM MATE KEPT US IN BEFORE LOSING 4&3
This is why I love Mark’s videos! Not only are they ridiculously helpful and informative, but they’re explained in a way that makes so much sense! Thank you, Mark!!
the thinking golfers channel !!!!! thinking about the game, ways and affects of decisions and how they affect everything can only make you better
Seriously the best ball position video I have ever seen. So nice to see someone getting away from teaching that there is only one way to do something.
great vlog Mark this has already paid off for me. 👍👍
Mark, it makes a lot of sense. Great points on ball position for various clubs. Thanks
