Thank you for this fantastic video. I have developed soreness in my thumb MCP joint from weightlifting heavy dumbells. Thankfully it's not an avulsion but rather a tear (I think). I wasn't impressed by the hand surgeon I saw.... he had forgotten his anatomy. I got a cortisone shot which helped and wore a customized thumb splint to immobilize the thumb MCP. I wear it when I work out with weights but now I'm noticing it in my left hand.
I also had a trigger thumb with it, but that's resolving now...

When I got the injuries years ago the only relief I got was if I pulled the thumb and popped the joint.
