I found your channel and I believe I am finally discovering what my issue could be. I believe I may have had a couple mild closed dislocations of the cmc thumb joint. Both occurred when my hands were cold. One happened when I was reaching inside my new pair of boots to remove the paper in the toe box. I pulled my had out and my thumb was stuck in that posed position. I popped it back into place, but experienced major inflammation in the thick pad area of my hand and thumb. I had something similar happen a month later and ever since then my thumb cmc joint has felt unstable. I feel like a ligament has remained taught and my thumb always feels unstable like I am afraid to use it like my other hand. Opening my hand fully stretched out does not feel comfortable, it just always feels very stiff. I've used splints but never consistently. Should I keep this hand in a thumb splint consistently until this resolves or what would you recommend? My doctors have only have said I have early cmc thumb arthritis. Any help would be so much appreciated.

I would advice you to consult a hand surgeon/ortho surgeon/plastic surgeon.

Too bad hes so far away for me.. Yes the doc recommending ypu see someone who's specialized. All the gp does is guess unless you have had imaging studies such as MRI. getting good care these days can be difficult , at least that has been my case. I'm in a small city. And horrible health care

@@GKHandSurgery I have a mild volar subluxation of my dominant hand of the first proximal phalanx at the 1st mcpj without acute fracture and moderate grade partial thickness articular side tearing of the UCL at the attachment on the 1st prox plalanxat 1st mcpj. According to my mri. I think this would be a gamekeepers thumb from over use at a job where over the course of 3 months did large volume of repeated use.... I'm not sure what to do as the hand doc who ordered mri , I do not trust. So I'm getting 2nd opinion .. I don't know how to find a good doc. Although .. my case is probably not serious but it is for mevwh we nbi want to get back to tennis and golf. Where in India is your practice? A major city? And do you teach and see patients?
