Hey Jeff, you're just amazing and I just can't say more. Could you please make a vid on non-profit NGO and how to land a job with them? Especially for those from Syria maybe or Iraq with good experience but want to land a job with an INGO in another country as an expat. Thanks
I still think companies should just stop asking for a cover letter and be done with it.
I agree with you! Yet... in reality :(
This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks Jeff😅
Glad to hear it 😁
🎉Congrants first on your 650k +subscribers Jeff!!
I know your channel will become very famous and grow a lot. Congratulations on reaching so many subscribers in such a short time. I can't believe how someone with a full-time job can still create such professional and useful videos. I've been following you since you started RUclips during covid. I already felt that your channel would grow quickly. 👏
Wow you've been around for that long Nina?? Thank yoU!
CoT prompting is definitely so helpful! I've been using this method and the differences in responses have been substantial. Oh, and I learned about the X-Y-Z formula back in school and spent hours perfecting my resume based on it. Kids with AI tools these days are too damn lucky 🙃
I know right? Imagine what we could have achieved if we had all the tools kids these days have.
I would actually have to imagine because I'd just be bingeing on tiktok....
Can confirm that ChatGPT doesn't produce great cover letters with a single generic prompt. Your output is only as good as your prompt and input!
Loving your ChatGPT series, Jeff. Thanks for all the great tips!
No problem Andrea, glad you're enjoying these 😁
How did you know I was struggling and needed your help?! I’m sooooo looking forward to more of your resume/ job search videos this year.
Me and you both!
Another value-packed video. Thank you for the awesome breakdown; honored to be teaming up with you! 🙌
My pleasure Teal!
Thank you so much Jeff! this video helped to format my resume and cover letter in less time and confident to send my application.
Best of luck!!!!
Another batch of prompts in my text expander for future searching for sure! Always dropping gems, my friend!
Which text expander do you use Matthew?
@@JeffSu TextExpander. Easier to have across all platforms if I can download it
Must be in the top 3 prompts this year! Thank you Jeff
You're very welcome my friend 😁
Thank you for your unique tips!! Just subscribed to your newsletter. Greetings from Peru!
Woohooo thank you and welcome to the community my friend 😁
This is very useful information for me. I just started using ChatGPT to get ideas on improving my resume. The answers I've been getting have all been less than satisfying. Thank you for this break down.
No problem, let me know if my prompts improve your outputs!
Great video. This is so insightful! Thank you very much!!

Thank you so much for your videos they are awesome and your engery is infectious :) I am very motivated to work on my LinkedIn profile!
Glad to hear it 😁
You are my go to guy for prompts. You rock!
Thanks 😁
Great video as always!
As a recruiter, I see a lot of well-written CVs but the person doesn't match... In my initial screening calls the language used can be widely different from candidates compared to their CV and they can stumble when explaining easy-to-answer questions.
So that's a dead giveaway they used too much AI?
I see the same issue when I recruit. The problem is the AI is not writing in the author's voice so there is a disconnect. This is especially when English not the 1st language of the candidate.
@@JeffSu maybe, or someone else has written their cv something. Hard to explain but you can tell somethings off. Had clients say the same thing as well.
Ahhhhh that makes sense!!@@scottxgibson
great video thanks
No problem!
dropping gold as always 🕶
😁😁
Excellent Video

Hi Jeff, your video are very helpful. Please do a case study interview tips and ways to solve it. Thank you.
I actually have a video up already going over consulting case interviews
@@JeffSu i couldnt find. please provide the link here. if possible.
Love you ❤
Thanks 😁
Jeff, awesome as always. Could you do a video where you compare the effectiveness of Gemini versus ChatGPT 3.5 /4.0 for essay writing or researching for the purposes of writing? Let's say we rely on content creation as part of our side-hustle (perhaps kind of like you) and just need an easy tool that will allow us to juggle between a full time job and we utilize this side hustle as a way to think and grow and hopefully even make money :P
I was just wondering if one or the other has advantages especially with the AI's ability to reference data and include it in our answer. For example, I found Gemini referencing non-existent studies when I asked it to cross-reference it's ideas from NCBI. I wonder if ChatGPT 4.0 would be better in this regard.
I would use Perplexity for fact-checking and finding sources to be honest
@@JeffSu You da man Jeff. Thanks for sharing something new.
Awesome video as always. 👏👏Can you help me to understand one crucial thing? Should I only upload my resume or include the cover letter too when asked by the employer to upload RESUME on the company's website?
I would honestly do both, but even better: Network beforehand so you know your cover letter and resume is read by a real human!
One thing that I frequently have to do is steer my GPT's away from telling, in favor of showing. "Show, don't tell" was good advice from my career coach. Often I only have to mention the concept to get the GPT to correct it. On the extreme opposite end, GPT will tack on phrases from the job listing at the end of points in an explicit attempt to connect them in a sort of "because I said so" manner. I find this results in a disconnected, unconvincing result that lacks substance.
That's a GREAT pro tip Ryan, thanks for sharing!

Jeff which books teaches about becoming High Value employee/person that is not talked about in school college but is essential for company growth and success..
I prefer learning by doing but if you really want to read a book: How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie
Thank you so much, Jeff!
Can I create a custom personal GPT so I don't have to keep entering these prompts? Would this still work? :)
You could but the whole point of these prompts is that you want to stay flexible
Jeff what can be some best books that teach how to become high Valuable employee/person that is not talked about in school college but is essential for company success ?
I prefer learning by doing but if you really want to read a book: How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie
Can I use Microsoft copilot or Gemini to achieve the same result? GPT 3.5 doesn't have internet access and I simply can't pay for the plus version
Yes you can 😁
great content, as always
Woohoo thanks Ariade! 😁
Do you have any Chat prompts pdfs or one sheets so we can easily copy and paste all these prompts vs having pause and type, pause and type each time?
If not, could be a great value add to email to people and build your leads.
All prompts are linked in the description 😁
Hi @JeffSu question, for SWE fresher's resume, would you also do the X, Y, Z formula to the bullet points of your personal projects?
Yes definitely!
Superb points !!
Jeff One query which i had was- Could you suggest some ways to break the pattern of increasing salary only on the basis of number of work experience in any company when we are judged by our work experience not other traits so how to earn more with less experience without being stuck in this cycle of counting years of experience to decide our worth ?? Are there any better ideas or books that would help me become financially strong i am a hvac engineer..
I'd say focus on the value you bring. Most decent hiring managers/recruiters should be open to negotiation
@@JeffSu Got it 😊 Do you want me to read any books about the whole subject to understand game of Value and Tactical communication ??

@@JeffSu 😂😂😂🤍🤍🤍
I always wondered if mentioning xx years of experience could really make a difference in the answer 🤔
Try a prompt without it and let me know what you think!
Dear Jeff, I translated company research and cover letter into German. They work well. I added some more prompts and I want share your tips with others. Is this ok for you? I'll let my audience know that the prompts are from you.
Sure go for it!

What?
The information presented, your fluent English despite it not being your native language, and the impressive editing you performed are commendable. BUT….Unfortunately, individuals with a bias towards other skin tones purposly overlook these qualities and instead focus on minor pronunciation errors. It is disheartening to see how the superiority complex of a single race can negatively impact the world as a whole.
Thanks! But did anyone make fun of my pronounciation...? 😂
Ouch. You butchered poor Josue's name in your pronounciation. It would be HO-SU-EH, with an emphasis on the last syllable.
Aw crap. don't tell him?
@@JeffSu Oh, he knows. He's watching. Judging.
This is gold! thanks so much for sharing!!
