I love the octagon of the Henry, been looking for a rifle for my kids to learn with, also love your work girl! Sold me on a marlin 45-70 earlier this year! Cant wait for my hunting trip!
I have handled a Henry pump. Tbh the pump was disappointing. It was not very smooth at all. I didn’t like it, I don’t know if that’s just one of the side affects of a pump rim fire rifle but it felt grainie and not smooth. It could have been that specific rifle as well but it was not a very good impression. It could have been me not being used to that type of pump as well. Anyhow that’s my first impression of the Henry pump.
@@nolanoutdoors1946 thanks for the input! My first rifle was a henry lever 22 my dad got to teach me, i loved that thing. Maybe ill just teach my son on the 45-70 hahaha
@@FL-Kaiman can’t beat Henry’s lever rimfires. I think that’s why I was so disappointed when I handled the pump, I was so used to the Henry smoothness on the lever guns.
I do like the price even though I'm not a fan of the oversized trigger guard. My biggest complaint was there's no single screw break down like the original gallery guns had. That would have made it a nice gun to put in a backpack for camping and hiking.
I sighted my new Rossi in today by drifting the front sight to the right a little and got to break in the barrel. One thing I learned about the little Rossi was you can't baby it when cycling rounds or you will get light primer strikes. Cycle it with some force and purpose and it will fire every time. My grandson and I had a fun day trying to out shoot each other. Thanks for the video.
Even though it’s not marked for .22 shorts they cycle perfectly fine. CB shorts are really fun in it. Could use a better o ring or locking feature for the tube. Tends to fall out at the slightest pressure when in the truck. Didn’t like the Phillips head screws at first but kinda nice being able to give everything a torque with ur leather man if it needs it.
Wow, your Rossi is very different from my 1983 purchased Rossi 62SAC carbine. My gun is blued, has walnut stocks, half cock safety, can shoot S. L. LR fodder, no disconnector, top eject, simple post front sight, 16.5" barrel and holds fifteen rounds of Shorts , forget how many Longs and eleven rounds of LR and will shoot rounds interchangeably. Mine is also a takedown with (captive) knurled screw in receiver, it breaks down to under twenty inches for easy cleaning and portability. I paid $120 for mine at Karnival Sports on 65th Street in Brooklyn. Still shoots swell.
Kristin, thank you for this video, I also watched the comparison video with this Rossi and the Henry. You did such a great review on both rifles!! Keep up the great work, and have a very Merry Christmas!!

I have owned my Rossi gallery for about 20-25 years!
Love it and I will never sell it! 🇺🇸👍
Missed ya Kris! My favorite reviewer on this channel!

@@nolanoutdoors1946 You are correct....Pump actions are just not as smooth as levers.
Glad you snagged a Marlin 45-70! Love to hear about your hunting trip!

Nice rimfire rifle. I have an old mint Rossi 62SA. Very accurate little rimfire. Thanks for the video.
Super fun-looking gun. Great video!
Nice video. Looks like a lot of fun and a fine budget rifle.
cool video
Never seen phillips screwhead on a receiver….
My thoughts exactly. Love the rifle, but the Phillips screws just look so out of place.
@@waitfortheflash6286 That's true. It's not really a thing of beauty LOL
Well this isn't made in late 1800s-mid 1900s. Phillips is now the standard for screw heads vs flat from yesteryear.
Awesome classic
Very good information on this video!
Great review Kristin,
I like that little shooting rest you have, where did you get it?
JT
That MTM is a pretty inexpensive and lightweight option. Not precise, but a decent rest for sure. I don't even remember where I got it.

Wow that's a beauty 😎
Obviously the rifle.
22 birdshot able to shoot with this rifle?
So what's the price range?
More than it's worth, which is why it's omitted.
It's at the end of the video. Timestamp 6:13
