. I ONLY have north facing windows and its frustrating to know I'm limited to THESE plants. I desperately want a bird of paradise but i know my home wont work for it. Its kind of depressing to know I'm limited when it comes to my plant collection. Do you have any other options for large houseplants for north facing windows?
Hey Mackenzie ~ I bought a rubber plant from this nursery in Berkeley a couple months ago and umm... is this what having a teenager is like? No matter what I do it just sits around all droopy and mopey like it just got dumped. At first I thought I over watered it so I held off on the water for a month and sadness persists. I thought maybe it wasn't getting enough light so I threw it on a north facing window. Thought I heard it from across the room emit a soft "rawr" and then some gentle sobs. I even repotted it and planted it a bit deeper cuz I noticed some of the roots were exposed. The only other thing I can think of is that I'm not using the proper soil. idk... I really want it to do well because it's a neat looking plant and I don't like it when things die. Anyway, I understand if you're busy and don't respond to every RUclips comment but I would appreciate some advice. Cheers 🦖
Oh nooo it got too cold most likely? You can always get another one and try moving it to a brighter window for the winter! Sometimes it takes me a few tries with certain plants lol
@@Macksimize100 yeah it was probably the cold drafts from the window in -40 weather lol! But I’ll kill as many syngonium as it takes until they love me

I have a diffenbachia and a money tree in a northern facing window. Both have grown really well.
Ooo that’s good to know! I’ve never tried those plants in a northern window before
@@Macksimize100 yah, most people are surprised when I tell them.
You are correct about the golden pothos. I put one right in my north window and it is getting very bright daylight, no sun, but it is loving it there.
That’s great to hear! They’re truly indestructible those pothos
Love the Pothos gesturing
So satin pothos would not work in a northern facing window?

You are not limited. Look at other options to boost it up a bit. I'm talking grow lights
I love your videos and your humble energy! As the cat bed goes, I would love to have one in human-size as well 😸
Aw thank you! And I’m glad I’m not the only one jealous of this cat bed lol
Can you recommend artifical lamps that i can use to supplement low light?
Yeah that’s a great idea! ☺️

Do you know of any other houseplants, besides the avacado, that would enjoy some coffee grounds with its soil? Thank you
Gardeina
