For diff lock to engage on a 2016 Honda Rubicon you need to turn the wheels all the way in either direction and give it a little gas, it will then engage right away. I really don't understand why Honda wouldn't get with the times and go on the fly diff lock. The brand itself deserves it. Either way I love my 2016 rubicon with foot shift and IRS. Still the most dependable bike out there today.
Well an 8 year old Grizzly blows away a brand new Honda Rubicon in every test, I would expect a new Grizzly to widen the gap even more. The only thing he could say was better on the Rubicon was the plastic. And more power needs more fuel, duh. The newer Grizzly models do claim better mileage though. And complaining about a Grizzly without power steering, come on. I like the Grizzly wheelies at the end. I guess the Rubicon doesn't have enough power to wheelie lol. This guy is just a Honda fanboy. The Rubicon is a fine machine, I won't dispute that. But its not even in the same class as the Grizzly as far as power goes but they cost the same. As I said in the other video, give me a new Brute Force 750 and it will edge the Grizzly on power and costs the same. The diff-lock lever is a bit annoying but its simple and it works. V-twin power will outdo a single any day. Yeah it won't sip fuel like a Honda but who cares. If you're worried about fuel economy you're missing the point.
These are utility machines, just that. You should test them accordingly, not like sport atv's. If you're gonna do a drag race, at least hook them up to a trailer loaded with something heavy like say, timber. And have the racks loaded down with bags of concrete mix. Then see who gets across the line first. Just an idea. Food for thought.
As jumpy as my wife's 2008 700 efi w/ps grizzly is... she is able to ride it without scaring her. the throttle response is the best I've experienced and I have had everything but Suzuki. Very durable, nothing but a brake job in 3 years.
I run a small RUclips channel and the bikes we ride are: 2006 Honda foreman, 2013 Honda Rubicon, 2008 Kawasaki Brute force, and a 1992 Honda Fourtrax 350. I'd love for you to do a walk around of all the quads you own/have access to.
I'd like to see you make a review of the 2016 Grizzly agaisnt your ''almighty'' Rubicon, just for the pleasure of seing it struggle so hard agaisnt the Yam and hearing you stuttering looking for arguments in favor of the Honda!
this doesn't make any sense you compare 8 years difference quads I owned 2015 foreman 500 and now I have 2016 grizzly 700 LE so you have NO idea what difference means IT'S BIG Grizzly wins at every point!!!
Yamaha for the win again... and as for your plastic problems put the missing bolts into the plastic... I CAN SEE THE BOLT HOLES FOR CHRIST SAKE. Do you honestly think that Honda will be any better in 10 years? I'm not knocking honda they make a fine machine.... but its not a grizzly and this is an apple and oranges comparison.
Diff lock light is supposed to blink to let you know it's on so as your not driving about with diff lock on as opposed to the Yamaha where it's solid light so you'll forget about it 👊🏼👊🏼
I have had a fair number of atv s in my life and at different stages of my life. Honda, Yamaha , Suzuki have all been really great bikes. 17 000 km on all of them and no real issues. It comes down to what you r going to do with it. I think my next bike is going to be a rincon. Is it the best.? For zipping around on the farm, some nice trail riding it will be fine. Aggressive hardcore trails, mud ding ect. Than diff lock, esp that stuff may matter to you.
@nm650xmr, masterferguson is your standard internet tough guy who'd get his miserable ass kicked in a face to face confrontation. You gotta understand, he's been bullied his whole life! There's no other way for him to be tough other than sitting behind a keyboard in his moms basement.
Ummm..... 700 vs 500? Was there ever any doubt the Griz would win? Lmao. That Honda would likely lose to every other manufacturer of 500 ATV out except for the Korean junk. Race a bloody Kymco next time! Lol
Drag race and Honda don’t belong in the same sentence. Also the Honda-madic sucks electric shift sucks.. My buddy has the exact Honda as in the vid his rack is broke his plastic is broke his electric shift don’t work.
Well of course a 2016s plastics are much better, and why would you need to steer with one hand, sure power steering is nice but you should always be using both hands on a trail
Dumbass read the test comparison again...It,s a comparison between 16 Honda Rubicon and appears to be the deluxe model looking at the rims. The Grizzly is an 08 and probably had a hard life for the most part....Still smokes the Honda's ass in every category with the exception of not haveing power steering and the newer grizzly,s do...Sad part is they could have used the Rincon 680 and the Grizzly still would have beat it the Rincon 680 don't have power steering either...Smh...
Yamaha is 5 years ahead of the Rubicon....Honda is good though...especially the smaller/older Ranchers. Nothing stops a 300cc Rancher....nothing....ever.
Hated to see Honda put the gas cap up there like Polaris did. Stupid. The new Grizz has it where it should be which is exactly where Kawasaki has had it from day one.
Daniel Courtney No, you just have to press a button an it automatically engages, you don’t have to wait to slip, you do it before you might get stuck, so you won’t.
Guess what Polaris has all four wheel drive when you put it in 4 wheel not Diff lock I think when it saise 4x4 that should mean true 4 wheel drive not diff lock
the polaris 4x4 system sucks and if that's what you think true 4x4 is then that means unless you don't have electric diff lock or limited slip then your 4x4 truck is still only a 2wd truck because of open diffs
What a ridiculous comparison 2016 Honda and 2008 Grizzly except for the power steering which the Grizzly did not have the Grizzly beat Honda hands down. What a joke
I like the real world test of doing a circle with a beer in your hand, you just don't see that in any other reviews lmao
Mattgx2012 that’s true lol
Well it's a 2016 vs 2008 in the plastics so it's not even fair
That’s what I’m saying
I have an 04 Grizzly, and they are great
*05

the 2016 grizzly is the same way
Dependable generally means boring and weak. HONDA has that in spades.
I'd like to see a comparison between a 2020 Chevy Silverado and a 1985 Honda Big Red.
I like that white Honda, stands out from the typical olive, red, blue and camo. Yellow would be dope too
Funny how the grizzly kicks the hondas ass in every test , except for gayness !!!
U know what fuk u
If you had a brain you'd review a 2016 grizzly and see how much better it is then the Honda rubicon
Exactly 😂
Well an 8 year old Grizzly blows away a brand new Honda Rubicon in every test, I would expect a new Grizzly to widen the gap even more. Not one complaint about lack of power steering dude... just showing difference, and yes, its hard to make the ruby wheelie
no problem Brett, next time i see your mom ill have her buy you and me each a brand new 2016 grizzly for testing
Brett Roper Well you know that is a 500
I'd take the grizzly any day
When you put the Honda in diff lock bump the gas and it should engage right then! It's this way on all Honda models that have the diff lock feature
Yes I've learned this with my 2016 Foreman. It'll flash when you tap the gas it goes solid and engages.
now that is a FANTASTIC review
These are utility machines, just that. You should test them accordingly, not like sport atv's. The grizzly would still win.
You have used the grizzly mutch more than the Honda. So grizzly is defintly best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
700cc vs 475cc really fair.
What are you bitching about? These are the top of the line machines from both companies. Its noy my fault the Rubicon is better than the Rincon
Team Honda
Team Honda 686 vs 475 if you want to be politally correct 😂
the vid is pretty good but how can you really compare two atvs that are 8 years apart? and the fading on the grizzly plastics is oxidization
Plastic doesn’t rust?
As jumpy as my wife's 2008 700 efi w/ps grizzly is... she is able to ride it without scaring her. the throttle response is the best I've experienced and I have had everything but Suzuki. Very durable, nothing but a brake job in 3 years.
Great video, you have a new sub here! I love that Rubicon.
What year is yours? And what do you want to see us do next ?
I run a small RUclips channel and the bikes we ride are: 2006 Honda foreman, 2013 Honda Rubicon, 2008 Kawasaki Brute force, and a 1992 Honda Fourtrax 350. I'd love for you to do a walk around of all the quads you own/have access to.
Sure dude. What specifically do you want us to talk about ?
Just do a walk around and give us your opinions on the machines.
I'd like to see you make a review of the 2016 Grizzly agaisnt your ''almighty'' Rubicon, just for the pleasure of seing it struggle so hard agaisnt the Yam and hearing you stuttering looking for arguments in favor of the Honda!
So many grizzly’s I’ve seen have ITP mud lites.
And so does mine.
this doesn't make any sense you compare 8 years difference quads I owned 2015 foreman 500 and now I have 2016 grizzly 700 LE so you have NO idea what difference means IT'S BIG Grizzly wins at every point!!!
Hills never look the same on film it’s like waves in the ocean
And you can say the grizzly is eight years old the Honda is brand new
Yamaha for the win again...
and as for your plastic problems put the missing bolts into the plastic... I CAN SEE THE BOLT HOLES FOR CHRIST SAKE.
Do you honestly think that Honda will be any better in 10 years?
I'm not knocking honda they make a fine machine.... but its not a grizzly and this is an apple and oranges comparison.
wtf its a 2008 which was made 8 years ago compared to a 2016 that was made 1 year ago so im sure the 2008 would be a little more beat up😂😂😂😂
the plastics have been beat to shit on the grizzly thats why. its also older
Diff lock light is supposed to blink to let you know it's on so as your not driving about with diff lock on as opposed to the Yamaha where it's solid light so you'll forget about it 👊🏼👊🏼
Really good review.
Its not a true wheelie if you have to kneel on the seat. We call that childish lol
I WOULD RATHER HAVE A GRIZZLY 350 THAN A BLASTER 240 IGOT BLASTER 240 WRITE NOW BUT I WANT TO TRADE IT FOR A GRIZZLY 350
I have had a fair number of atv s in my life and at different stages of my life. Honda, Yamaha , Suzuki have all been really great bikes. 17 000 km on all of them and no real issues. Try putting them in Reverse…..that alone is reason to get the grizzly
Ill still take the honda. . Ive had a bad expirence with maintenance on Yamahas.. not reliable
brandy gonzalez Well, that’s rare, have 3 grizzlies, all been bulletproof.
The Yamahas plastic is 8 years older. What do you expect? Plastic breaks down. Smh
they are 8 years apart come now!
Dude you can’t compare a 2008 yamaha’s plastics to a 2016 Honda’s
look at the age difference
You said the honda was in 4x4 diff lock but thr lever was in 2 wheel thats prob why the diff lock was blinking
awsome comparison but tell the boys to get helmets on...
fuck off
Brendan Ferguson there a reason u told me to fuck off or do u just like acting tough to feel better
+NM650XMR safe first I seen sum sad stuff all because someone didn't wear a helmet
@nm650xmr, masterferguson is your standard internet tough guy who'd get his miserable ass kicked in a face to face confrontation.
You gotta understand, he's been bullied his whole life! There's no other way for him to be tough other than sitting behind a keyboard in his moms basement.

beri232 kymco's actually great bikes btw
Trying to promote Honda when it's getting its ass kicked in every challenge by an older model Grizzly, what a joke .
Drag race and Honda don’t belong in the same sentence. Also the Honda-madic sucks electric shift sucks.. My buddy has the exact Honda as in the vid his rack is broke his plastic is broke his electric shift don’t work.
Lmao talking about plastic on the Yamaha my friend has a 06 rincon and the plastic is falling apart
that's hardly a fair comparison. ones an 08 the other a 16. that's apples and oranges. terrible job
Shows how well these grizzlys hold up.
Maybe when one wheel is slipping the diff will engage better
Please tell me the top speed of the rubicon
what's the matter you can't do wheelies in the Honda?
New grizzly is beast.
Yamaha grizzly is way better
Well of course a 2016s plastics are much better, and why would you need to steer with one hand, sure power steering is nice but you should always be using both hands on a trail
I really enjoyed the comparison!!!
Well 2 problems Honda is only a 500 and the grizzly is a 700 Honda is 08 and grizzly is 16
Dumbass read the test comparison again...It,s a comparison between 16 Honda Rubicon and appears to be the deluxe model looking at the rims.
And you have to think that the yamaha is a lot older too
This review made me buy a Yamaha grizzly instead of a Honda
a 500 cc enging won't compete with the 700 cc try the Honda Rincon to compare, it's closer in HP
Frank Daebelliehn it's still down by 12 horsepower
Hated to see Honda put the gas cap up there like Polaris did. Stupid. The new Grizz has it where it should be which is exactly where Kawasaki has had it from day one.
He just compared a 2008 clapped grizzly to a brand new show room floor Honda from 2k16🤦🏼♂️
Can i buy one
700 sucks a ton of gas?
mine goes over 100+ miles per tank in mountains and aggressive riding...
On the diff lock the front tire has to spin then it kicks in.
Daniel Courtney No, you just have to press a button an it automatically engages, you don’t have to wait to slip, you do it before you might get stuck, so you won’t.
The Rubicon locks in immediately in diff lock when you begin driving it. The Honda does a better job than the Grizzly
200 cc .... who'd a thunk it ?!?!?
Electronic Mail ???????
call me E Mail
It’s unfair for both sides and also I don’t have that problem with the diff on my Honda that is my profile picture or whatever’s
how about u use a newer grizzly with power steering and not fucked plastics
Honda fanboy alert 🚨
Honda fanboy alert 🚨
Yamaha
I'll have the grizzly everyday all day .
yes yammah all day
Broke down all day every day
Hah? What? That bringing is telling you it's engaged. Not waiting to be engaged
The Honda is 8 years newer
best comparison test o you tube ,really in the terrain, great job ;-)
У меня grizzly,но honda тоже хороша:)
Comparing 8 years old machine plastics to a new machine lol not fairly comparition in cosmetics...
Guess what Polaris has all four wheel drive when you put it in 4 wheel not Diff lock I think when it saise 4x4 that should mean true 4 wheel drive not diff lock
Guess what!! Polaris sucks balls!!
the polaris 4x4 system sucks and if that's what you think true 4x4 is then that means unless you don't have electric diff lock or limited slip then your 4x4 truck is still only a 2wd truck because of open diffs
+Michael Bradley were talking about fourwheelers not trucks and the Polaris 4x4 has gotten me out of about anything what more could you ask for
+Myles Nagler and when it stops working it could be 20 different things that could be the problem polaris has a lot of electrical issues
What a ridiculous comparison 2016 Honda and 2008 Grizzly except for the power steering which the Grizzly did not have the Grizzly beat Honda hands down. What a joke
This is like comparing apples to bananas These two machines are so different. So one one the grizzly has a lot more horsepower
The Yamaha von
yamaha is way better compare the same years hondas are poop dumb dumb
stupid slow motion
Whats wrong with that ?
nothing i think it would be cool if you could do like two of the same clips one is regular speed and the other is slow motion
+UnderTenReviews trust me put sum music to those slow MO clips and male a comp of em
honda did better
Honda looked like a punk
Funny how it's a 500 vs a 700 very gay test yamahas are shit
Honda is not more reliable than Yamaha , Yamaha has the most reliable motor and drive train hands down .
grantoyamaha opinion
Team Honda ...Not opinion its facts. .. Yamaha's transmission is the most reliable. Its legendary..
Just Google it.
J Lord if I was going on the track hands down I would take a YFZ 450R. Because Honda sport ATV in my opinion aren't that great for racing.
grantoyamaha I think the both are pretty reliable because I have a 1994 Honda so it's 23 years old and it is still running perfect
Well it's a 2016 vs 2008 in the plastics so it's not even fair
