- What's the most reliable ATV on the market?
Honda Rubicon, Polaris Sportsman, CFMoto CForce, Yamaha Grizzly, Suzuki King Quad, Kawasaki Brute Force, Can Am Outlander, or maybe a Kymco ATV?

I've got a 2000 Honda recon and a 2000 Honda Rancher 350 4x4. I've rolled them, crashed them, drowned them, and buried them. I've personally held them at wide open throttle doing donuts until they ran out of gas. The A arm bracket on the rancher broke off once after a crash. I welded it back on and kept going. They're slow and don't make much power, but I can't kill them. I can walk out there after they've sat for a year, pull the cord twice and they'll start with a dead battery. Never even had to rebuild a carb. Just brakes and oil changes. Two 21 year old quads that just keep going. Honda has sold me on their four wheelers for life.
My last Honda is my last Honda forever because it was junk and it's also a 2000 forman 450 and even the rear end is stripped out.
I got a 2022 Honda foreman 520.. I love it.. the only thing I don't like is the solid read axle .. but. That's it... Still a beast and it runs all day long... The only reason I don't like the rear Axle is because if u get stuck in a deep rut it tends to tip on its side but that's the only complaint I have... Soldi utility quad I would buy another one for sure...bi just wish they made the clearance a bit bigger like 10inchs... Mines only 5.7 inch's.. but it's only a 520 so...
we had a 2003 honda foreman it was pretty good the electric shift sometimes didnt want to shift that was it when looking for a new quad we wanted more power and a better ride so we went to kingquad 750 and hands down way better then the honda way more power and the ride is so much better I would buy another suzuki over the honda both reliable suzuki is just more fun
My 2001 honda foreman 450s is the exact same. Bulletproof machines
I ride 'em but I also mainain them.
Suzuki has amazing reliability on my experience. I bought my Suzuki Vinson new and beat it hard for 13 years and it just took it. I finally had a $300 4wd shift actuator go out but that is the only thing in 13 years of thrashing it besides common wear items like brake pads and wheel bearings. I will be buying another Suzuki.
I've got an 06 Vinson with 6,000miles and no issues !
This made me happy just bought a 2020 kingquad 750 axi monday! Im excited
I own a Samurai & a 1400 Intruder...both reliable as rain in Oregon I will never jump ship .... people ask me all the time if I want to sell my Sammy....NOPE !!

My dad bought a Yamaha big bear back in 1988. It still runs strong. Very few issues. I bought a honda rubicon In 2005 and it’s been a great machine. I bought a Polaris sportsman in 2017 and my dad bought a honda pioneer 700 side by side 2 years ago. Been relatively good machines . Few recalls. We haven’t really used them enough for an opinion. Only 1000kms on it now. Time will tell. All our machines serviced regularly.

Iv owned Honda foreman’s rubicon etc the 400 the 450 the 500 and the 680 as I trade in farm quads iv also owned a few of the Yamaha’s range and honestly found the Yamaha’s more reliable but not much between them the hondas issues were mostly electronic gear issues and speed and angle sensors. I have a had a few Suzuki’s and found them much less reliable than the hondas and Yamaha’s
As someone who is in the market for my first four wheeler I’d like to ask, would Honda be a good beginner option because of the good reliability and maybe later on once I know what I’m doing maybe get a can am

Love my 2016 Honda Rancher 4TRX. Very reliable and have had zero issues with it since I purchased it new in 2016. I use it year around from -35F cold Winter days plowing snow to 95F days hauling firewood, skidding logs and pulling a variety of utility trailers. Works great on my 100 acres of woodland and wouldn't trade it except for a Rubicon.
I’ve always been a Suzuki fan. Bought a 2000 Suzuki King Quad 300 new back in ‘99. I still have it and it still runs like a champ with no engine or transmission issues. I’ve currently got 14,600 Km (9062 Mi) on her and still going strong. I finally upgraded to 2019 Suzuki King Quad 750 SE+ (Bronze) in May of 2020. Currently have just over a 1000 Km (621 Mi) on her and loving it. Was going to sell my 300 KQ, but I couldn’t find it within myself to part ways with it.

Suzuki rocks. Owned 3-4 ATVs , MX bikes etc. Yamaha is my #1 but will take a Suzuki king quad over any Honda ATV.
They are great quads, no doubt.

My father bought a Ltf250 4x4 and a 300 king quad in 2000 I put over 50,000 km on the 250 she had a ton of work but was ridden hard and put away wet too now the 300 it has over 20,000 km has almost nothing in repairs thing still has original breaks and starts and idles better than most new ATVs absolute bulletproof quads
Still riding my 1987 Honda Foreman 350D bought new ! It’s been with me from coast to coast and in Alaska now .
My 350D has hauled out 7 bull moose 2 elk 6 deer 2 black bear and 2 wild boar and it is still with me pulling my Grumman 19’ canoe to the lake near buy ! No serious maintenance performed just fluid changes and air cleaner and a few plugs. I would love to have a new Honda but first I got wear this 1987 350D out
I get teased by the other riders about riding a vintage Honda but it’s so reliable and for me it’s good balance of weight and power for a 33 year old ATV still going strong ! I vote for Honda and the Suzuki King Quad 300 excellent beast with the Lockers and Low Range the Suzuki had.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this review!!! Also pretty stoked to see me riding in the Kawi part 🤘. That was the craziest intro. Bus almost rolled over on the way to the trail head and the whole morning it snowed on one side of the mountain and in the afternoon we all could've worn shorts and T-shirts. i own Can-Am and Polaris ATV's for the past 30 years with very little problems. The key is to service your vehicle and keep it clean.
Yeah I definitely agree a good owner will have an impact on reliability
I'm the kind of guy Love work on my machines so I do lot maintenance I think that's a must and going over everything making sure works perfectly because a small issue can be come a big problem if not fixed right away.
And bring a tow strap so a Honda or Yamaha can bring you home.
@@ppepperoni3570 funny that you said that because Honda is only one that has broken down on me and I work a for a millionaire that has dozens of ATV'S of almost every brand and his favorite is Polaris and one of his Yamaha YZX 450 run hot and the dealer couldn't fix it and the dealer had to take it back and he replaced it with a Sportsman XP 1000 Highlifter and has a Honda 520 for his daughter and he said it was told junk because the brakes were crap and the shifting horrible.
Multiple times 2008 Polaris 850 OIL Filled air filter box, wrecked multiple engines, they knew about problem, fought warranty then denied second time after a weeks riding; so your "The Key is to... blah blah blah" is false. Never Again, don't even ride pretty much anymore because of it. Kawi 750 problems after that, I'm done. Old Foreman 300 outdid them all - all crap considered.
I agree with your list from what I have read. I have owned 6 Honda dirt bikes since 1972. All bullet proof. I was looking at the Honda Rubicon foot shift because I'm too old and brittle for a dirt bike now. But that Kodiak 450 EPS SE sure is nice.

Very happy with my 2005 Yamaha Grizzly 660. Not had any problems in the 17 years (7500km) I've had it.
2010 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. I bought this machine brand new and its been nothing but trouble since. Pinched wires to bad fuel pump and everything in between. Also bought a used 2006 Yamaha Kodiak 400 that was driven hard and wrecked, end over end collision and lots of body damage but it runs great and not a single problem in 6 years that I've owned it and I run it at least twice a week.
I've had my 2000 bombardier 500 traxter for 7 years now after my dad had it for 15 years still runs great after years of hard work pulling logs and disc's for food plots ,sprag gear is now starting to go ,I've also owned the 650 quest and it was a beast ,that being said I just bought a new sportsman's 450h.o and I love it.
I like the performance / reliability balance of any Yamaha atv

I know people with many problems with there outlanders but I guess it all depends. Some people have better luck than others
I’ve had my Can am since 2016, since then have always been hooked with it and I haven’t had much issues with it yet and I use that little beast quite often. All I’ve changed so far was Battery,Regulator,And tires. For 7000 miles and 560hrs that’s not too bad. ALWYAS puts a smile on my face when i get on it 😈
Yeah I had my can am xmr since new 5 years ago. Over 7000 hard kms on it (mostly deep thick mud) and didn't have one problem with it. Awesome bike in my experience fun powerful and reliable what more could you ask for.
Love my can am outlander. Zero issues!!
I looked at several and bought the Honda mainly because I am a Honda person but I love my 520 Rubicon it goes plenty fast for what I do and so far seems to be a great trail machine like having a mountain goat to ride around

Just picked up a 98 King Quad 300. I'm stoked to see everyone rave about the reliability of it and can't wait to get it out on the trails! The thing is an absolute tractor in super low. Should be pretty fun.

I have a 2005 Eiger 400. Same belt still going strong and working. Never have had an issue-never and it’s been underwater 3x, got me home each time with minimal work on the trail to get her going and get the water out it.
Reliability for sure. When I decided to buy my first ATV this Summer, I was willing to wait around until I was able to find a Honda and passed on a lot better deals on different machines. However I can understand though folks that choose performance, especially if they're mechanically inclined and can avoid the dealership if there are any issues.
708 Yamaha Is not a SUZUKI Engine ugg !! It's a Fuji/Subaru motor.
Polaris is dead last!! CAN AM, kawasaki are the 3 bottom.. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki being the top 3. My most Reliable has been the SUZUKI. Suzuki Makes a great engine!! No burned out Valves like the Yamaha or Ring Failure like Honda 500.
Great job on this video. I love the non-biased opinion it’s such a breath of fresh air and I couldn’t argue with really any of it. Being a Kawi owner you were spot on and riding with most of the other brands I’d have to say that would also be my experience as well. Hats off!

We bought a CFMoto CForce 800 last year, a brand new 2021 model. It has so far been flawless. We took the chance on it because we wanted a dedicated 2-up machine and the Arctic Cat and Can Ams that offer a 2 passenger design were both nearly double what we paid. Seeing how, as you mentioned, neither of those brands have top notch reliability reputations, i figured if it only lasted half as long as either of those I still didn’t lose money since I paid half as much. 🤔 We don’t abuse it, but we have certainly used it. It’s pulled trailers on the farm, and even towed a farm truck home when it broke down. It’s been solid so far.

That’s the problem they don’t put up with abuse very well especially jumping since the suspension is shit

@@Hastambre yes it is. In fact we have over 100 hours run time on it now. Still absolutely zero issues so far. We pull trailers and check fences on the farm almost daily with it. I plan to adjust the valves soon, they have begun to rattle a bit but it stills runs fine. Valve adjustment is supposed to be at 80 hours according to the manual so thats normal. We received a recall for the power steering but havent taken it in yet, because we havent had any issue with it so it just hasn't been a priority honestly. I do all the service on it myself, and we havent done anything but oil changes, filter changes, and grease. Drive belt is still factory and we pull some heavy trailers loaded with feed, fence posts, etc.
@@Scotts229 Thanks for the comment. I’ve been looking for a UTV as well and been doing a few days worth of research. So far the CF has had way more positive owner reviews than I expected. Maybe even more than Polaris .
I sell Honda Yamaha and Kawasaki for a living and I would say that Yamaha is the most reliable in all Powersports. Good to see the video!
I would agree with you. Had problems with two Hondas and never bought another one.
I’m a Honda man ,all my friends have bigger ,Polaris ,Yamaha ,been hunting on them in Colorado ,since the 1st 4 wheeler came out ,I have a rancher now ,but the best one I’ve ever seen ,was the Honda 400 foreman ,with aggressive tires ,carried many elk out in two pieces in one trip ,low center of gravity . Even though the grizz ,and Polaris can go in deeper snow ,but the Honda always starts ,it only coughs a lil when you hit 10k elevation .
Got a 2018 Kymco 450i atv. Love it. It goes anywhere I’m brave enough to put it. I live on Southwest Virginia, mountainous is an understatement.
That's the best place to ride I think. Hands down best fun I had in my life was at those Hatfield and McCoys trails.
Thank you for not blackballing CFMOTO in your review many other sites refused to review them in fair comparison I own a Chinese and North American machine I love them both the machines have been a bright spot in my life but CFMOTO starting price got me into the sport a few years ago thanks for your awesome review I'm binge-watching and subscribed😊

Durability isn't dull. Everyone I know that uses atv for work has Hondas everybody!
It's why I went suzuki. Made right here in ga. Now I've driven Hondas on the road forever so I don't hate em either. Lol. I think suzuki stopped at a 750 to keep it reliable.
yes, honda is so outdated. Spent decades on honda, not any more. Polaris and reliability do not belo g in the same sentence lol
I've noticed many of the guys on Alaska the last frontier ( TV show ) almost all drive honda atv's

I had my CFMoto for almost 3 years now and have drove more than 5500 km on it with no major issues in really rough terrain. CFMoto is really popular in Europe where we doesn't feel the need to buy expensive well known brands.
CFMoto have been #1 most sold in Sweden for years, and among the most selling in Scandinavia generally. And you can't beat the price, since you get so much value for the money with modern look.
CFMoto use CVTech clutch (that many other switch to) and the engine is used in many KTM bikes.
I also really like Yamaha and Can-Am, but the price for Can-Am is too much since you doesn't get anything extra as stock like you do on CFMoto.
Great comment, thank you! I know KTM is using CFmoto motors, that's pretty cool. I don't think they sell the CFmoto motorcycles in the States yet, but I've seen some cool prototypes.
The cf clutch fucking sucks a clutch kit for the bike is rly necessary
@@TrenMakesMeLoveMen I'm a Honda guy all my life I ride hard mountain cross country a wile back I took a chance on the cf moto overland 1000 and I've got to disagree with you strongly the cf moto is a tough built very reliable bike there are definitely more powerful 1000 but as far as reliability goes I've accidentally rolled my cfmoto down the side of a mountain and it still runs and rides we even took it to a mx track and jumped it all day with the gas adjustable shocks it held tough all day cfmoto is best bang for buck sorry man but in my opinion you are way wrong

I have been owning cfmoto 850xc 2018 for the last 2 years and I am quite happy with it. It has done around 3000miles/200hours so far and no faults so far. My friend rides cfmoto 600 with single stroke 500cc engine (mine is v2) for the last 5 years and he never complains about it as well. They both seem pretty decent machines to be honest. Even the guy who owns a dealership of cfmoto and some other brands here where I live admits cfs don't brake more often then other more premium brands while the cost of parts is around 50% of those for premium brands despite the fact that many times those part are exactly the same/manufactured by the same companies in China......

@@TrenMakesMeLoveMen Well if you actually read the comment, he sells other brands as well. If anything, it would be in his interest to sell more of the higher end ATVs and parts, which are more expensive and probably earn him more money.
My dad owned a 2007 Polaris sportsman it’s been sunk before, after a couple of oil changes it was fine other than the dash getting fried. I’ve owned a 1999 Yamaha Timberwolf that’s never had problems even been sunk with no issues after, I now own a 2007 grizzly 700 got it used and it was abused hard, basically new intake idler boot, rerunning some wires, all the bushings and bearings, but it still ran and drove with all that wrong it’s a great machine and extremely reliable
Always owned a Honda ! Love my 2016 Honda Rubicon deluxe , I have no need to blare down trails at 100km/h lol but I’ve pulled a lot of the big bore bikes outta mud holes I got through easily !

I've had a cfmoto since 2017 bought it new the only thing I've had to do with it is change oil and put new tires on it.. there is about 3500 miles on it todate..

I own the 2020 Outlander 650 max. Very nice machine, the dealership here stands behind their products; last summer I lost the rear breake effect. The dealership told me to return the machine, and that the job the job was pretty costly, but it would cost me zero money, due to warranty. I got my machine back fully serviced with fully rebuilt rear breake, paying only for the service part of the job. So I asked; "so no money for the breake job?" They said: "No, we got this".
Great video. I have owned a kymco mxu 500 and loved it. My buddy loved it so much he bought it from me. Now I own a 2018 kymco mxu 700i. Absolutely love it. Both have been super reliable machines

Bought my wife a 2018 Kymco Mxu450i that goes anywhere my 700 Grizzly goes can't go wrong on the price either.
So hear is my 2 cents on reliability, in the year 2000 I went shopping for a 4 wheeler. The 1st place I went was Honda 350 rode it and thought it was great, the price out the door was $6400.00. I left there and went to Yamaha, rode the Big Bear 400, rode great and could tell the power difference. It was $5400.00 out the door.
So with 2 kids wife house note and car note, I went with the Yamaha. Of course many of the people if not most that I have met and rode with at deer and duck camps had Honda. In the beginning most everyone just said you may regret going with Yamaha because Honda is so much more reliable. In 2005 those same people said…dam that Yamaha Big Bear is hanging in there. In 2010 those same folks and some new ones said Yamaha make a pretty reliable 4wheeler. I. 2015 a lot of the older guys that was in the lease in 2000 had passed away. In 2020 when my red 2000 year model Yamaha Big Bear had faded to pinkish…my remaining friends asked if I would please get another 4 wheeler, they where tired of seeing me ride the same one for 20 years. In September of 2022 I went in and purchased the Yamaha Grizzly 700 XTR EPS, I think Yamaha earned my loyalty based on reliability and I’ve earned a new one for not trading mine in on a whim every 2 years like most folks.
I believe they all pretty good especially if you take care of them. Be safe and happy trails to all, no matter which you decide on.
Same experience with yamaha here, I’m actually gonna go buy a used 99 kodiak that’s mint for a secondary atv for fun, as my yamaha grizzly 16 has been amazing too
Great video, after seeing your list I pondered my 30 years of atving and based on my experience, I would put Honda and Yamaha in a tie for #1 and I would put CF Moto ahead of Polaris, based on the fact that my parents and my brother own them and have had no problems at all. And based on the fact that at our local atv dealer which sell Polaris, Yamaha and CF moto, Polaris machines in for repair out number the other 2 by at least 5 to 1. My wife and I currently own 2014 450 grizzly's we bought brand new and we have over 4000 miles on both, fantastic machines.
To be fair, that shop probably sells more Polaris 5:1 too.. But I'm with you, I like Yamaha

Mine would probably look Slightly different with Yamaha Number One , followed by Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki and CanAm.
The others mentioned are in a different ballpark from these 1st Five IMHO.
Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and even Yamaha must have got rid of their Research and Development Departments though.
Although Extremely Reliable, these Brands Never seem to change much every year.
There is such a thing as New Technology that could be incorporated into these Great Reliable brands and machines. These 4 brands are becoming outdated.
Just look at the Honda 650XL Motorcycle.. Hasn't changed for 20 plus years...Air cooled And carbureted? 🤣
What are the Engineers doing at these 4 brands everyday?
Not many noticeable changes over the past years on these 4 ATV lineup's, yet the price continues to rise.
CanAm seems to be the brand that continually comes out with New Technology, New models and changes to existing models, Although I feel their reliability is a mixed bag.

Also keep in mind people that buy the high performance Polaris ride the absolute shit out of them vs some grandpa toting around the farm.

I’ve had a 2007 KingQuad 700 which I bought it brand new. I have put it through some very tough terrain and it’s held up like a champ. I would absolutely buy another KingQuad in a second. Great channel bro.

True Honda builds some bulletproof machines, that’s why I’m so disappointed they dropped out of the sport quad race! Bring back the sport quads Yamaha needs some competition!!!!

There's a very good reason that every brand moved away from pure sport ATVs. Nobody's really buying them anymore. They're essentially useless nowadays unless you take them to the track. The trails are generally so tore up that sport ATVs can't get down them. Last but not least is that there's so many better options that offer 4 wheel drive that it doesn't make sense to offer an outdated straight axle 2 wheel drive sport ATV. In short the world has changed and the manufacturers have realized this except for Yamaha
Honda hands down. Is the most reliable ATV I've been riding them over 20 years...
The problem with Honda is they need a valve adjustment every 100 hrs and when they break, it's a lot more expensive.

I check the valves every riding season.
No other problems.
I watched a lot of reviews before I bought a second hand 2012 Honda trx 420 (UK) had it now 3 years and we work it pretty hard with absolutely no problems at all ,they are expensive even second hand but worth it,I think we’ll be keeping it for a long time.

If it ain't broke - don't fix it. Many people will complain about lack of innovation in recent years from Japan, but they have pretty much reached the pinnacle of innovation already. I bought a new King Quad 700 back in 2005 when they first came out and it was by far the best ATV I have ever ridden. I now have an Arctic Cat 1000 XT, and while it is a powerful monster that rides extremely smooth, it just isn't in the same league of quality and features that the big Suzook.
I have a 04 Polaris sportsman 400 I bought for $2,500... it had 1300 miles and 300 hours and it was in perfect condition, I like it more than the new ones tbh.
As a teen i was always a dirt bike guy as I didn't like 3 wheelers too much, 4 wheelers were just starting to come to market about the timie I joined the Marine Corps and for some reason got out of the off road game. A couple years ago (i was 45) I decided to finally step back in to it (i was single my kids are grown so no one to hold me back) and I bought my first 4 wheeler, it was an 09 Polaris Sportsman XP 850 and I loved it, as a fat guy, that thing had plenty of power and pulled me up hills, thru the mud and trails, then I saw that Polaris had come out with the Sportsman XP 1000 S and I had to have it, finally got one this past spring (2022) and this thing is so powerfull and so comfortable to ride for my 47 yr old 6'1" 430 lbs of bad knees and back, that I will ride till I die.
Just bought a 2021 king quad 400, got to say my 2001 Polaris magnum is still running strong, it's been so reliable I can't see getting rid of it
2018 cf moto 500 never had a problem I love it
My 09 grizzly 700 eps never let me down yet just basic stuff like tires and battery and lots of oil changes
I got a 08 and it's been a great machine I give it 👍👍
Yamaha is #1
Interesting. My parents bought Limited edition Grizzlys and never ran them hard but their Hondas always lasted and the Grizzlys haven't. Through overheating, starting issues, battery always dying, and much more. Wonder why the limiteds got built so poorly. 🤔
My bro has an 11 that I've spent quite a bit of time on, and it's like the perfect blend of machine/quad. Fast, IRS, suspension that's worth a damn, 4x4 and, can be ridden in just about every scenario.🤟💯
I have only been riding for two years. I bought a Polaris Sportsman 570. So far just normal maintenance. It gets used for work around my house as well. It came down to two choices for me Can Am outlander 570 or Polaris Sportsman 570. This being my entry level machine , it has performed every task I have tried with it. I am in my 60’s so speed is not a priority for me. I am happy with my choice , cost and use were my driving decisions. Some of the brands you mentioned I had never heard of. But living in Maine in small towns , choices are limited.

I thought I would pick your list apart, but I agree with most all of it ! Having multiple machines for every family member and spares. Riding with groups and spending time at off-road parks and tracks every weekend for decades.
We knew who would have problems from time to time when we were out riding. Could even anticipate the problems and pack the right tools, parts and even a spare machine if so and so was coming !

Good comparison. I had 4 Honda's over 15 years(70,110, trx350, 350 rancher), then went 3 Suzuki's (Vinson, 700,750 king) in a row over 10 yrs, then went with a can am 1000 and have been happy with it the last 9 years. The can am does not have the fit and finish and refinement of the Japanese quads, but the power, comfort and features have never left me needing to modify the machine like I had to with all the others. I was forever modifying the Japanese quads to try compete in the mud, water, or on the trail. And they pretty much had half the HP as the can am, so they were reliable. That being said, I haven't broke an axle or burned a belt in 5000km in the can am.

I have an old Foreman 400fw. In the winter it works for a living. In the summer I trail ride with it. It still has the original engine & has never left me stranded. Not bad for being 25years old. Matter of fact I just bought another one 👍

I own two Polaris' a 2018 Sportsman XP 1000 and a RZR XP 1000. Both machines have been perfect for what I use them for. They aren't babied by any means but are reliable when you service them properly and keep up with maintenance. I can agree on that they can be expensive when things break but you gotta pay to play as with all motor sports. Great list.

I have a couple of '85 Big Reds and an '85 350X still rolling strong, but now I'm in my late 50's. I decided to get a good IRS quad to be easier on my old spine. Honda reliability is unmatched, in my experience, so I went for a 520 Rubicon. It's like riding a cloud, and I have no worries about getting stranded out on the trail.
3wheeler man, very cool! We have a buddy with some big reds, a 350x, and a 450r trike conversion.. Im not manly enough for 3 wheels personally!
Same boat I have 84 big red that starts every time. I'm looking to save my joints also. Just wish Honda would put a bigger motor in.
@@deeeeeeps I think one of the main reasons Hondas may last so long is that they don't put big powerful engines in them. The engines seem sized right to have enough power, but not so much horsepower that they tear the machines apart over time.
Adding horsepower is a losing game. It adds more heat, more stress, requiring more cooling, heavier frame, more fuel consumption... which calls for more horsepower to compensate. It's a loop. Honda seems to have found a practical balance for the ATVs. They make bigger engines (700 and 1000) for the Pioneers, so they have the ability to make quads with those engines. I think they don't go that route, because they want to preserve their hard won reputation for reliability and longevity.

It is something similar to CFmoto, as in it is Chinese but seems like an actually decent brand. So far so good, though havent ridden it that much since I bought it a few months ago and it is still kinda cold so I rarely drive. If you have the money, the Japanese brands are surely a good bet.
First video I've seen. I appreciated it. I have a CRF250R that's been pretty great for years. I don't ride a ton but that bike is always a blast. Looking at potentially getting like a 400 Honda for the wife...as I have too much other crap to work on besides ATVs haha

I've got a grizzly 700, I got it brand new, and since then I've put 15,000 hard kilometers on it, and it's been rolled and pinned under a tree in a tornado, I've never had to do nothing besides some bushings, brakes, and oil changes, and she still runs great, I will never ever tell anyone to buy anything else, not to mention my grandfather has a Kodiak 450 with 25,000 km on it, still runs but not in the best shape
Ive had damn near every brand on the list. Back in 2017 we purchased a CFMOTO ZForce since then i have designed my RUclips channel around them. I have to say from here on out my top picks out of all the brands is CFMOTO, Kawasaki and Honda. I also own a Kawasaki bruteforce thats made by kymco so yep ad them to my list aswell. How ever both of our CFMOTO machines have been as reliable as a Honda they are definitely worth buying.

I have a 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 with power steering and haven’t had any problems with it. The only gripe I have is the battery placement. With all of this said i use this machine a ton on my property for towing my aluminum boat, hunting, and basic stuff. I really don’t run it hard or crazy but I do use it for work and can say im super happy with it and maybe the 1,000 is just really unreliable but the rest of the machines are probably not like that
I bought a brand new 2012 sportsman, the clutch grenaded itself, I’ve burnt off the belt, throttle cable snapped every CV needed replaced. I have 2700 miles on it, switched to yamaha in 2016 it’s had zero repairs needed
I just recently purchased a Kymco mxu 450i and I absolutely love it oh, I also just installed a 2500 lb winch on it yesterday

Brother in law got a 2019 Polaris Sportsman 570 last year and the first time I used it to do some work at the hunting land I thought it was fine but then next time he went to use it he couldn't shift while the quad was running. Throttle sensor malfunction after the first use. My dad bought a Honda Foreman ES back in 2000 and I still bomb around on that thing during ice fishing and we beat the crap out for that thing when I was younger. Honda is the four wheeler I'm looking to buy in 2022.

My top 2 by far are Honda and Can-Am. Me and my family have owned a lot of work style four wheelers in the past and those 2 have been the best overall.
I sold my 2021 can am for honda. I think I just got a lemon. Loved the bike and was well maintained but it was always broken. Left me stranded 12 miles from home due to a broken intermediate gear in the starter with only 300 miles on it.
Polaris #8. Should be #10. First thing out of a ATV newbies mouth is Polaris. Ya tell em to stay away from Polaris, but they don't listen....then they regret their purchase a year later when the machine breaks down in the bush and the dealer won't honor the basic warranty and won't honor the extended warranty you were suckered into buying. Lesson learned...we hope.

Goat comment. Lmao my younger brother thought he had to have a Polaris well he brought a brand new one needless to say he enjoyed it maybe a month. Had to replace the motor, the dealership and Polaris wouldn't replace it. Said it had chips of metal or something in the oil. They said he had it submerged in water which was bs but keep in mind it had a factory snorkel on it. Polaris is fucking garbage. Next ATV I get me will probably be a CF Moto. I know they can't be any worse than a shitty Polaris

I have a 2007 CanAm outlander 400 and it has been very reliable. It is very light also which helps when I hit a muddy quicksand-like hole. You know the ones where the hip-deep mud is so sticky and thick that you lose your boot everytime you take a step. My CanAm gets unstuck with the winch a hell of a lot easier than other 4x4's I've owned
My wife’s friend rode my 2016 recon that already had at least 5k miles on it into our pond. It sputtered died I towed it home changed the oil replaced filter and spark plug did the oil two more times and it runs like the day I got it. Perfect. Not to mention for ranching solo it helps to have an atv you can kick off yourself if you roll.

Pretty good list, I agree. Love that brute force v twin power but if I want one that I’m 100% about it’s Honda. Can am and Polaris make some really fast machines but I have yet to see one that’s old still going strong with no problems like you see Honda’s all day long with that said I do have a 2020 ranger full size 570 for the farm and ok so far. My wife and I have 3 cfmoto machines. 2 sxs and 1 atv. The 20 cforce 600 has been great. Yes they are fairly new to the states, but been around the rest of the world for 30+ years. My opinion, cfmoto machines are just as reliable as any other brand out there.

I don't find that to be so my 2018 Sportsman XP 1000 has 90 HP and it's better more dependable than my Honda and it even stip the rear differential or my Grizzy or 2017 Kodiak 700 was a problem from the get go
For years I pulled loads into a cabin with a 600 Sportsman and I never had a driveline problem. I think a lot of reliability depends on how people ride them. Usually when I came across a machine on the trail with problems it is the go fast guys and they are covered head to toe in mud.
My Suzuki ltz400 was immensely more reliable before I dumped a few grand in race parts
Yes and no. I know a guy with a sportsman 1000xp. Over 5,000 miles and he doesn’t go easy on it. The machine has held up really well.
I’ve got a 19 can am x3 base model 120 tuned to 190hp with 4300 miles and it’s been super reliable after lots of hard riding.
Yep just bought a 2022 Honda Rancher 4x4 DVT EPS and love it ! Perfect for my needs and the big plus is reliability
I've only owned Suzuki and Yamaha over the years, so take this with a grain of salt, but the 350 twin banshee can't be beat. It can sit for 360 days a year, start 3rd kick sitting down, and still beat any modern 4 stroke on the sand.

Not surprised Honda is in the #1 spot. ROCK SOLID machines. Had a couple honda recons years ago and they were extremely dependable. That said- the fun factor is much higher with other makes. Just purchased an outlander 1000xt (havent even picked it up yet). Was considering the polaris as well, but the higher speed touchiness with the power steering ultimately had me go for the can am. At least its still North American, if not built in the USA, right? 😃

I may still buy one but I’m considering a grizzly bc of the reported reliability issues the sportsman has. Stinks bc I think the 850 trail is the coolest/best setup for what I want.
I know someone with a cfmoto sxs... Within a year he spent months in the dealer for broken transmission part... It was covered by warranty but still not very fun...

Review is spot on Chad 708 engine was our down fall but going forward I would switched Yamaha with Suzuki can’t beat new Yamalube advantage program 20 year/5000 hours/ 100,000 miles engine warranty better CVT transmission and 10 year belt warranty ,traded my Honda Rancher in for a Yamaha Kodiak 700 and couldn’t be more happier.

I'm still riding my 1985 Honda TRX 125 I bought new. Never had the motor apart, just oil, brake shoes and air filters. Tires of course too. Bought it when I was 23. I'm 60 now. If it ever dies I'll upgrade.

not surprised at all that Suzuki is so high on the list. I've owned two. Sold the 2001 QuadRunner 500 4x4...and know it's still running strong. My 2000 KingQuad 300 4x4 is still a beast. LOVE the Suzuki quality...and would not hesitate to purchase another. I've also owned honda, polaris, and yamaha.

Definitely agree 1 through 4. I have a Honda and Suzuki for the reason of reliability. From my experience I would have cf moto higher on the list and canam lower. CanAm has great engines but weak diffs, terrible visco lock and bad electrical caused nothing but problems for me.

@@DirtObseXXion I had a Cforce 600 touring for a few years. Bought it brand new. Put 2200 miles on it. My wife and kid rode it until my kid was old enough for his own quad. Never had a single problem. I had a canam outlander 1000 for a year. All stock and i only do trail riding, no mud or deep water, and towing with it. Rear diff went out at 600 miles. The transmission constantly had problems getting stuck and couldn’t get it in or out of gear. The key switch and the 4x4 button had to be replaced. It was in to shop more then I got to ride it. Traded it Elon befor the warranty ran out and got a KQ750.

I love my 2018 Sportsman 570. This weekend took it out in a larger group with all types of ATV’s . Watched some mean 1000’s get stuck in the mud. I never needed a pull. The one mud hole I slid sideways climbing out. Looked down I was in 2 WD. Moved to AWD drove back through so I could hit it straight. I didn’t want to turn around in the hole it was over the front rack with soupy mud. This is no knocking the list though. Was just a fun weekend.
