(More examples, more advanced grammar points!)
This time we'll learn how to use ておく / とく in a sentence.
It's roughly translated as "to do ~ in advance / in preparation / for the future".
You might not believe how often we use because of this translation but trust me, you'll need to learn this! This is also a necessary grammar point to learn for the JLPT N4.
In this lesson you'll also learn how to use this ておく with other forms such as "eばよかった (should have)", "たほうがいい (should)" and more!!

That one dislike is from JapanesePod101
Lol I like them too but most of their stuff is geared towards people just getting into japanese but they really helped me out learning all the kanas
@@Crouton- No they have courses for every level.
@@sagefields5847 I know but most of the stuff I see is for newer people, I do watch their live streams because those are really good but its just not like misa where it can build you up from the bottom up
@@Crouton- Now to be fair, a lot of the lessons on their actual site is geared towards all levels, and are actually pretty good. I would consider myself to have an intermediate knowledge of japanese, and I learned a lot of what I know through JapanesePod101's actual site. However their youtube channel and live streams are VERY much aimed towards beginners. They have quality intermediate and advance lessons so I'm not sure why they dont put more of that stuff on their channel.
🤣😂
awe, it made me sad hearing that Misa sensei got upset by the comments. We love you Misa sensei!
I always feel so guilty when Misa asks if I remember what she said five minuts ago and I just sit here and look at her and think: "What was the topic of today's lesson?"
She's just that attractive, distracts you from the lesson
I feel the same way. That's why I like RUclips. I can go back and review, and rewind, and keep on until it sticks in my head.
i guess im asking randomly but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid lost the login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Jeffrey Onyx Instablaster :)
@Victor Graysen I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im trying it out atm.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
"so please pull it out"
"this is very important"
Misa teaching the real lessons over here
I need to remember that "pull out" one 😂...
Love the new idea of categorizing the videos into the N-Levels.
I feel like it would be better if it wasn’t.
Can't believe people'd be harsh for somebody that put so much time and effort in making these awesome videos for free. I play your videos in the background all the time They're very clear and examples are useful. Really appreciate it!
Thanks for doing videos like this. You don't just teach about the grammar alone but also how to use it with other grammar patterns as well. Just received my JLPT N3 certificate today and your videos are one of the reasons I've learned Japanese. Thanks Misa-sensei!
えらいね。おめでとうございます!
@@SuperGeekalicious 日本語能力試験N3を取ったのに偉いってことじゃないと思うけどさ
I hope you are at a intermediate level now by watching her videos.
@@BiGSmoke-.- i think n3 is at least intermediate

You are such a sweetheart, Misa-sensei. I am blown away that you take the effort to update your older videos. You can get away with not doing such, but because of your dedication, you go the extra mile. It really shows that you care a lot about us and the output that you produce. I will forever be indebted to you. 本当にありがとうございます、 みさ先生!
4 years later and people are still learning from your old videos :) thank you so much for all the videos and today's lesson! Your videos is a big part of my learning journey!
Could you please do a lesson on pitch-accent?
ありがと!💙
Wow, I can’t believe how good the timing of this video is. Yesterday we started learning about ておきます in class and I was looking up videos about it last night, thanks for your lesson! 😊
Me too! In Genki, Book 2.
Me too ! That's what I'm learning in my Japanese class.
Omg same here!! It's crazy this coincidence haha
I hope you are at a intermediate level now by watching her videos.
Misa and Risa would be the best duo for me to teach Japanese lesson.
AGH! I’m early!
I’ve learned so much Japanese because of you!
love your channel btw❤️
やっぱりミサさんは説明が上手いです。
「ておく」「ておけば よかった」などは、とてもよく使いますね。

Literally the best online Japanese teacher 本当にありがとう (いや,まじで)
It's very easy to learn Japanese with you 🎌🇯🇵
I think we need a video dedicated to dad jokes! :)
It happened!
I learned this before from JapanesePod101, but Misa's explanation was way more informative!
I watch your old videos all the time and this video was wonderful and I was able to keep up which shows me how far you have brought me but it was a blow when you implied this was not an advanced video You are a unique gift to students of Japanese. Many thanks Sensei.
thank you so much sensei misa! your lesson is so helpful. especially to those who really want to learn nihongo. it makes me sad to know that you are upset with the comments. we know that you really do your best to help us to learn nihongo and i am thankful for that. loveyou sensei!
Thanks for the video. Greetings from UK.
I love her! Misa makes the best lessons on RUclips!
I have been a silent viewer for a while now and I must say that your content quality is really astounding. They are really well paced and clear. I’m currently taking Japanese lessons, hoping to clear JLPT N5 and N4 next year. The lessons at my school are great but I often use your videos as extra tuition and supplement to solidify my understanding of language concepts. You’ve been doing an amazing job, keep going at it Misa!
I spent the entire weekend taking notes of the Patreon version like a crazy person 😂 I'm glad to support you on Twitch as well 😂
This is such a useful lesson!
I've seen ておく in many places but I didn't understand it very well.
It's all so clear now, thank you so much!
I'm gonna join your Patreon as soon as I can, I'm so thankful for these lessons
I, for one, love the fact that you are remastering the beginner series.
I've enjoyed all your shows, and I've learned so much from you. Thank you for all your videos. Lots of love.
the color coded words on screen to demonstrate are honestly SO helpful. thanks for putting in the extra effort to do that all the time!
It's amazing how I can just go back to the previous videos on this channel and learn stuff based on my level. Thank you, Misa!
I really like these videos! they are so useful !! thank you very much, this is exactly what I was looking for a long time
Great lecture!!
Misaaaaa you're jokes are adorable hahaha that was so cute. Great lesson, sensei!

Thank you so much for doing what you do. You help people a lot get a grip of the language. This has been the best explanation one could ever need to better understand the language.
Gradual, useful, practical, informative, enjoyable, keep it up !
Keep your old videos. It's like going to a Japanese school, learning from scratch.
Great video. I agree with everyone here, your lessons are so so helpful.
I was searching how to say should in Japanese and found that you just made this video today! Lucky me and amazing how many high quality videos you release so quickly!! I'm learning a lot and watch a lot, thanks so much Misa Sensei!
Seriously, one of the best videos I've ever watched. You are a truly amazing teacher.

Still a beginner but watch anyway. Thanks for being the best Japanese teacher on you tube.
You are an AMAZING STRATEGIC EFFECTIVE TEACHER!!!
I love your old videos and I go back to them when I am struggling.
ミサ先生!I've been finding your classes so effective! I'm learning so much Japanese from you everyday. Thank you so much!! Please keep it up! :D
Thank you so much Misa! This was really helpful!
Excellent explanation! Thank you 🙏🏻👏🏻
Fantastic videos! Thank you for doing more advanced stuff as well. With your explanations I improve much faster than with the regular course only.
Found your channel recently. I've been living in Japan for three years and can speak the language pretty well but lately I have been looking for some brush-up material to review some things. I gotta say, you are so easy to watch and your explanations are very easy to follow and understand. I love the format and pacing. You cover so much, many important grammar aspects that are often overlooked. Will definitely continue to watch more from you. Keep up the good work.
The review of previous concepts and vocabulary is so helpful. It always makes me feel really confident when I can remember something previously learned. In addition, it helps to make sure I am able to use those previous concepts properly. Misa, big thanks!
amazing job Misa. Great lesson, as always
Thank you for this lesson. 勉強になりました
You and your videos are amazing!!!! Don’t let anyone make you feel sad. You work extremely hard in making such explanatory and helpful videos. We appreciate you Misa!!! You’re literally the best

The old videos have been a great help in my studies over the years.
I'm a fairly new subscriber and I am currently watching those older beginners videos. They are awesome. I've learned at least the Hiragana and Katakana characters before I found you and with that knowledge and the way you display the sentences, I'm really learning a lot. ありがとうI look forward to your updated beginners videos as well.
another awesome video, thanks so much Misa!
Thank you so much !

thank you SO MUCH for this video!! This saved me because I didn't feel like I could understand ておく😂 Since you explained the "leave smth be/ as is", I finally understood. ありがとうございました!!I'm not self-taught but sometimes I still need to watch videos in hopes to properly understand the right nuances and I can tell you that I honestly feel that your videos really are the best. 😘
This was great. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for these videos! I struggle with colloquialisms in manga and anime because I wasn't exposed to them much when I studied Japanese formally. The format of your videos are so thorough and helpful!

My god I absolutely love your videos. It puts a smile onto my face for the whole 35:54 mins. Can't wait to use them in real life situations :)
The colors you use for your example sentences are so great... I know how long text takes in video. You clearly put a LOT of time into these. Keep it up. And I hope your neighborhood can recover soon!
Thank you for your videos Misa 🌼 They are very helpful ..
Thank you for making these videos! I enjoy your charisma :)
Waited for this one, 🙏
i really learned alooot like a looot from you...thanks 💙💙
Hey, Misa. I watched a few of your videos randomly and then I decided I would benefit a lot more from your lessons if I did the entire basic programme, even though I have studied Japanese for well over 3000 hours and I had looked into most topics you cover in this programme. I am very happy I did. I have learnt a lot. Today I ran out of pages on the notebook I got for the sole purpose of taking notes from your lessons and I already have another one for the next. I deeply appreciate your dedication.
Just booked another trip to japan last night. Always such a good time and getting to actually use Japanese is a fun challenge.
ありがとうございましたみさ先生。。。。 i love all your videos
Thankyou so much ❤
Thank you so much. Undoubtedly saying, it was pretty helpful. Please keeping doing more videos. Mattane
