In this video I share with you why Herons Bonsai has that name and I take on you a short tour of Herons Bonsai to show you the impressive Spring colours.
Really happy you are doing some pine videos as you are one of the very few bonsai channels I like watching. Also I am trying out bonsai for the first time and in my area there was lots of pine saplings I collected from the wild
Greetings from Australia Peter. Your videos are always excellent and this one is no exception. You impart your knowledge with a great deal of enthusiasm, wisdom, warmth and sincerity. You're truly a wonderful chap and a credit to your profession. Best wishes.
Some amazing trees! I've become a little obsessed with Acer palmatum. I've bought around 8 since autumn! 6 of them around 5ft tall and 2 small 1ft plants. Thinking of turning one of the bigger trees into a bonsai though😁 Great video again mate! Thanks 👍
Great video Peter, this is a great time of the year on both sides of the pond. I did save my Moms Larch forrest, it's really looking good, lots of new roots and tons of needles and pinecones, think I will pot it this weekend. Thanks for all your great work, it's a treasure.
Herons mate for life and never leave each other...its a symbol of being strong in the mind..and I remember seeing a Male heron pick a flower and spread his wings for his wife and dance for her..walked backwards in a zig zag fashion....great name it demands power and respect.
Peter, Your work is wonderful, thank you for sharing your vast knowledge in such an open and honest way. You to are wonderful keeping the art of bonsai alive the way you do on you tube. Sir I take my hat of to you! I hope to re visit your nursery again shortly. ( It's like entering another world HONESTLY! RESPECTFULLY RAY, proprietor Bill and Ben the bonsai men.
No Fair, I'm in Alaska and it's still freezing and snowing overnight. But I love your place and want to visit soon. Thank you for this inspiring video.
You have beautiful collection. Wish u had open more nursery in other part of the world so ppl could learnt to love tree more. I am from India and love Ur work.
Your gardens and bonsai are such a pleasure to see. What a wonderful place to wake up to and work in every day! I'm watching all your videos starting from the first but decided to jump ahead and watched this one tonight. A nice way to end the day. Your selection of music at the end of this video was so perfect - can you tell us the name of the song please and who composed it? Arigatou. :)
Beautiful. Thanks for the tour of your amazing facilities. Though I wish you were closer, you wouldn't have any outdoor trees so it's best you stay there lol. We live in zone 2b brrrrr -40 lows.
Very beautiful Peter lovely collection of trees but wow that shirt needs the colour turning down a bit lol 😂😂😂.thank you for showing your beautiful home ..
Hi Peter : Thank you very much for your work and your explanations. Let me tell you that recently I had the opportunity to get some roots of a "Plátanus Hispánica" that were removed from the street by the county workers; so I have planted in a box with sphagnum moss and try to make it root and sprout. Hope it works. Regards and thanks.
This is a liunk to a picture of the lovely bark peeling down. The tree is similar to the London Plane; widely used in walks and lanes for shadowing. Regards. Link : www.123rf.com/photo_80852191_platanus-hispanica-peeled-trunc-perspective.html
Beautiful garden! 🙌✨✨ Please teach me/us how to re-pot a big niwaki tree in a +30 gallon container... like those garden trees @2:45 in those big plastic nursery pots. 🙏 I recently up-potted two 15gallon garden JBPs into 30gallon white-oak half wine-barrels. They are very beautiful... but I’m not looking forward to re-potting it and cutting back the roots in the future, haha (because they must weigh 300-500lbs each! 😳😆) I assume I’ll need to lay them on their side, roll pull or slide it out, because they’ll be so heavy? 🤔
peter chan ...sounds serious and difficult! 😭 I don’t have a crane and can’t afford renting a crane and crane operator. But, maybe I can rent a small fork-lift, Bobcat or maybe use an engine-hoist. I guess it’s best to just plant them in the ground so I don’t need to re-pot them.
my club and books n online say all white pine bonsai are grafted onto a black pine root sructure!??? is this true iv been a hidden bonsai artist for 12 years in UK my garden is jam packed just now haha. Dougie from SBA
Anyone know why my leafs are dying on my delonix regia tree........it was super healthy now I’m getting red splotches in my leafs....please help, I don’t want it to die....

When we repot Niwaki we use a crane to lift the tree
peter chan ...sounds serious and difficult! 😭
I don’t have a crane and can’t afford renting a crane and crane operator.
But, maybe I can rent a small fork-lift, Bobcat or maybe use an engine-hoist.

Peter, are any of your trees secured to the bench to protect from wind? Any tips that is functional as well as look good.
Will you be doing a video on when and how much to prune back the new spring growth?
Yes - I will be very soon.
excellent. 😊
mine have grown like mad after their winter prune. they have about 18 inches of new growth already. thank you for the videos
What kind of pine is that at 6:32? Stunning bonsai Sir 🙏
Are there still outlets for acquiring live stumps? I live in Colorado, USA. As always, thank you for your insight and wisdom!
It's been a few years since I visited the nursery but I must get back there soon, and bring a fat wallet
You don't need a fat wallet - we have some very cheap and some very expensive trees - huge choice
Herons I just got a bonsai and was wondering if you could me with my bonsai
What kind of scissor you use for cutting . What is brand and where I can buy it. Thanks for sharing you knowledge.
I use various Japanese tools like Kaneshin, and also now the Chinese stainless tools like Ryuga
What is your astrological sign??? Your nursery is beautiful !
Are you an Astrologer - if so please tell me what I need to know. I am Leo and Dragon.
Hello, amazing work 😍😍 do you sell non bonsai Acers at the nursery, I'm looking for something special to grow to full size ?
Yes we do - we have thousands of them which we grow in our fields
Awesome , can you please tell me what the average price would be for a 2ft tree , I'm an hours drive away so I would like an idea if possible
During your open hours can visitors just walk around, purchase etc as they please or is it by appointment or such?
We are open to the public every day of the week
my club and books n online say all white pine bonsai are grafted onto a black pine root sructure!??? is this true iv been a hidden bonsai artist for 12 years in UK my garden is jam packed just now haha.
Dougie from SBA
do you water the outdoor trees during winter?
Yes if it hasn't rained for many days
How does one go about getting a tree imported from Japan?
How much does one of the Japanese bonsai cost
They vary a lot from a few hundred to high thousands
Always out of focus but still love the narration.
Anyone know why my leafs are dying on my delonix regia tree........it was super healthy now I’m getting red splotches in my leafs....please help, I don’t want it to die....

Will have to find one
Ants com in in my Bonsai pot 🙄🤬😂
