Could I add an additional tip which took me ages to work out. A huge problem I found was the ball was 'sparking' i.e. slight bumps on my roof which impacted my flicks a lot! to stop sparking, release the accellerator for a fraction of a second. Literally let go and put it back on immediately. The sparks should stop. This will help your flicking hugely.
This may sound silly, but when I'm dribbling I can never see where my opponent is because they are behind where my ball is sitting on my car. How do I know when to flick it over them if I can't tell how close/far away they are?
@@jasonbaylor9865two ways I do it is the right stick. Move the camera. Also ball cam. Ball cam is a league harder to do than car cam. Because the camera can get wonky. But you can toggle it on off quick or even learn it in ball cam. You can also turn name the size up. It might help
For sure! I don’t get why more people don’t sub to this channel, it doesn’t take any effort on our part but helps give something back to a coach who is out here trying to help us all improve.
@@hexem1978 for sure my rank has definitely improved but more noticeable are my confidence in my mechanics and game sense that Spookluke has helped me with. Just him pointing out some basics errors I was making has made me a far more confident player by far. I honestly can’t recommend his coaching any higher. If you think the videos are good try a few hours of some one on one time with him it’s time and money very well spent if you want to seriously improve 👍👍
Hey Spook, I really liked this video and how unlike some youtubers you haven’t tried to make it sound more difficult and complicated than it needs to be. A solid dribble is sensible and I have been working on mine since our last coaching session and I’m slowly seeing improvement. The basis of flicks just being a well positioned flip also makes a lot of sense and gives me hope I’ll be scoring some flick shots in the near future. Thank you as always ✊
Anthony Camacho Let me just say, your tutorials are by far the most in-depth and intuitive for people looking to learn these mechanics. The way you communicate and break these things down makes it so much easier to grasp on a more practical level then just “do lethamyr’s rings map” or “just do the dribble challenge” or “just spin around in free play”. I’ve never been able to translate these types of videos into my actual play, so hats off to you man a sub well earned and deserved.
I recently got back into rocket league after I saw an ad that it was free, I had it back when it came out but I lost the disc and never got it again until now, your channel has helped catch up to players. Thank u

Love ur content spookluke, I always see ur comments on Instagram posts and I’ve also been stuck in gold for 4 years so I could really do with some help getting out. Love ur content tho, and have a good day :)
These are the best rocket league guides on youtube. You point out all the shortcuts that a lot of other tutorials explain away with "just mess around in freeplay". It really helps make training much more efficient. Keep it up dude!
In my experience for practicing dribbles and flicks was in the early stages of getting used to the small corrections the circle was better to look at the more I got used to the corrections the ball was better to look at especially in turning
A thing that helped me dribbling was Private Match i did Put the Game Speed in Slow Motion so i could learn dribble better and in Normal Speed it worked too. Hope i could help :D
One thing I noticed that has helped me slightly with dribbling is adjust your steering sensitivity to what suits you best for those tiny adjustments you make with your vehicle to stay under the ball.
Like @Hexem said idk why people dont subscribe to him. He give us all tips, tricks and tutorials and subscribing takes like five seconds and is free plus it gives back to spookluke and this is before we even talk about liking the videos.
I don't get to grind much having a family and whatnot but man these tips have been some of the most helpful I've had in my short venture into doing real research keep it up spook even learning new things from the basic videos
Commenting on every SpookyLuke video I’ve watched to thank him for his numerous eye opening tutorials and to help his channel get the recognition it deserves.
Thx so much for this video (and the previous dribbling basics one). Forcing myself to keep adjustments small is probably the only real advice that helped me in training dribbling. I really hope to incorporated more dribbling in 2s (plat 1).
Last night I got into a game and my tm8 was INSIDE of the goal and then left when he didn’t jump when the opponents were scoring. I did, in fact, go for it
Love you spook, you are my favorite rocket League RUclipsr. I found out that your vids are the most helpful that all other RUclipsr creators. Wish u all the best in life l.
I got this game recently and I haven't done my placements matches yet because I don't want to start in a low rank, but honestly if I were placed, I would be in a rank of my own - that being wood because I'm so bad 🤣
ive been practicing alot and this advice for sure helps. id appreciate even a week of being trained by you. i think the thing i need help with the most is positioning and game sense tho
the best way to learn dribbling is by doing the dribble challenge map. I did it for 4 days straight and it clicked in my head. I can now do it automatically without thinking.
I seem to mess them up no matter what I try. Guess I need to strategize and figure out what I'm doing wrong and practice good habits. This helps a lot. Thank you.
Love your videos! Found you about a month ago and I’ve been watching your videos like they’re homework. I’m currently stuck in high plat and I’d be super happy to win an opportunity to be coached by you.
Yo I actually got completely faked out by that discord notification. Anyway, just found this channel. Enjoying everything from the perspective of a diamond/champ player!
It took me about 2 weeks of daily training to be decent at it. I'd say it was about 20 hours total. The first week I was helpless at it but then something clicked. By the end of week 2 I was able to do basic flicks. The learning curve is rough for dribbles as there's a lot of "feel" involved, but you can figure it out.
Hey man, I’m a gold 3, I’ve been training a lot but I don’t know what to focus on, I’m having trouble lately, and I’ve seen your videos, and they help, but it would be better in person, 👋 bye

I’ve only been practicing air roll left for like 2 days so I know I’m just beginning but I don’t understand how to go backward and forward while air rolling. I can go left and right pretty well but sometimes I’ll start going too forward or too backwards and don’t know how to adjust. Any tips?
Yes but first get to the point that you have total and full control over your dribbling and you might find this goes away once you can turn and cut the ball whilst maintaining control. Dribbling is a skill that you build on as you go.
i would love for u to coach me because i got the game since its free and im already a low diamond but i still feel like i need to be more consistent and need to know what im doing wrong.

You are on the right track... but it’s a long road.
@Allen Murphy no you should start learning it in gold 1 or silver 3
