I feel like when people watch these videos they see that the opponents have plays that look really sloppy which doesn't happen so often in their own games.. but what they don't realize is that those plays look sloppy specifically because of the way the SSL players are playing - their opponents are actually making the same mistakes in their own games too, it's just that they aren't making the decisions (or don't have the mechanical skill to be capable of it) that punish those mistakes which makes them appear to not be mistakes.. but when they make the same plays against higher ranked players, it becomes much more obvious that they're mistakes which makes them appear to be playing worse even though they were actually making the same mistakes all the time - they just weren't getting punished for it before. It's much easier to look like you're playing well against weaker opponents than it is against stronger opponents even if you aren't actually mechanically any better/worse in either game.

I think people misjudge their ranks too much. I've been climbing pretty steadily and the difference between c1-c2-c3-gc1 today is night and day. Mainly on the way that the ranks create time on ball. I remember being diamond thinking I would probably score a goal or two on leth but even today at a steady C3, I would be lucky to score 1.

I recently played with Musty in one off his Shorts and I’m diamond everyone called me plat / bot. These guys definitely were a little nervous at first and you can tell. They definitely started ramping it up. They did good so please no one hate unless you know how it feels to play with a content creator of this size. ❤️ congrats and GGs

This concept is so enticingly complex. I genuinely believe a series of just this concept at the platinum or diamond level with money on the line would work wonders. It just doesn't make sense to me. I'm a D1 at best. I have a friend who's a D3. I would put $100 down. Maybe a few hundred if I can practice a bit.
This is the perfect hustler's play and I fell for it. There's just no way. We could all do comms and talk because, what's the point after a few minutes in really.
This is C'estTrey, teammate would be Pibbing on Twitch. I get you don't want to reuse the idea and stagnate the channel, but this is nuts.
You should do something similar but the challenge involves not being able to touch the ball more than 1 time in a row. You have to alternate players with every touch.

There are 3 stages of diamonds
Diamond 1: never wanna play, either riding you or in net. They're never ready for a passing play.
Diamond 2: toxic, love to forfeit when losing by 1 goal at 3 min mark.
Diamond 3: chill but not consistent. But you can't get there cause you're stuck in diamond 1 or 2.
At least that's the problem I have.
These are some embarrassing Diamonds. The diamonds I play free syle, flip reset, flick, pass play and can 100% save air balls 😂

All that i learned from this video is the skill gab between d1 and c1 is the biggest skill difference out of every rank. These d1s cant even arial and people in d3 c1 can flip reset, perfect flick and play great defence
I am diamond myself, and I would say that when I'm having a somewhat good day I would be able to at least come close to a win playing against you with my teammate, but I 100% know that if I actually were to play against you I would whiff 99% of all touches just by beeing way to stressed out.
No offense but you'd lose on a good day too with no stress
@@jmj0795 A good day for me would be hitting almost all of my touches, including aerial stuff, which Leth and Flitz couldn‘t go for due to lack of boost.
I‘m not saying I would even get one goal against these two with Boost, not even in 100 games. Maybe some weird 50s, but even then, they know how to 50, and I just go for ball.
Also my teammate is closer to champ, while having reached champ 2 once, so it wouldn‘t really be the same as the two guys featured in this video.
The reason I said I think I could come close is simply that when I‘m having a good day, it‘s more about having incredible luck than actually peaking.
But then again I‘ve seen way to many people say the same and they were wrong in the end, so I guess you are right on this one.
just for your understanding your good day is 1% of what a ssl is doing in bad day the gap is crazy until you reach gc you won't really understand it I get crushed by ssl's left and right even tho im gc2 its crazy

It may be the lack of boost on your end but I feel like as a fellow diamond the gameplay just feels slower on their part.

Last season my buddy and i made a challenge how far can we get in 2s with no boost. We were originally somewhat around D2 and after 20 games or so (we got bored of slowness) we stopped at plat3. It was good sport but i think we could reach D1. Shall see next season

How about doing Squishy save, the fall down without using the jump similar to ceiling shot, then ground pinch on the goal line?
There is also the pinch on the goal corner towards the opponents' net, but that is maybe harder to do?

I'm Champ 1 and think myself and my 2s partner could take you in the same challenge only you can use boost, but the same concept of this video with the map shrinking. The fact its true that most people only ball chase is crazy to me, as a plat, if Im in 1s and someones holding net and its either tied or I'm winning, I'll just hold ball at half and wait the clock down. Never had it not turn into a free goal when they get impatient.

This kind of videos have got me back to regularly watching your videos after a while, hope you can keep them up! It also got me thinking of something... I'm champ 1 and my friend doesn't play a lot but he's maybe around gold level. We usually just play rumble together for fun, so I thought maybe it would be interesting to try playing against you guys so that only my friend and I are allowed to use boost and the rumble items :)

I just noticed Leth and flitz were just shooting not air dribbles and flip resets
a cool idea for a video is in the first round its a normal match but who ever wins the match loses 25 percent of the field on the other teams side, and if they win the second match they get it back and say the win again the the other team loses 25 percent of the field, and it stacks
it would’ve been good to see ssl’s that use chain dashes and stuff to show the potential without boost

i think the main reason people say "i'm that rank and way better" is they underestimate the pressure of playing in a video vs playing ranked. or they've never watched their own replay

Video idea. Random boost and placement on kickoff. Opponents will be mirrored. Creates some unique 50s. Imagine starting backwards on the ceiling.

I was actually feeling the same way, when I saw your other video with this no boost challenge. But knowing how good your game sense is and how good your car control is I would definitely lose lol. I’m usually d3 or c1 in 2v2 (currently c1) but I would love to challenge you just for fun someday.

Challenge idea: no boost or drive, so basically only jump but there is unlimited flips. Not sure what rank you could beat but I bet it would be interesting.
video suggestion: 2 ssl vs 2 diamonds but only 1 ssl is allowed to be driving on the ground at a time. each time both ssls are on the ground diamonds are awarded a goal

@@cc-fz5ne I peaked c3, it's different. After every game I get added by 2 people and "wants to party". In 1s, I'm d3 and win every game by more than 5 without trying. What's sad is your inability to comprehend legitimate problems about the matchmaking system. Stay in gold.

@leth I have a challenge for you. My friend and I are both Diamond and I think we could take you guys on if you have to hold your drift button anytime you’re not in the air, so basically on the ground, walls, or ceiling.
I watch all these videos of diamond players losing and it looks like they try to do too much. As a diamond myself, i think that i would perform better than most of the people in my rank. Im not saying I do not make mistakes, but I think that the range of skill in diamond is wide.
