I have that very amp and use it with this pedal. Just leave it on the clean channel and turn the two effects dials to off. They sound great together, definitely get this pedal.
just one distortion stompbox costs about 45-65 dollars On this you get 50 presets and 50 other that u can customize that are all based off of digitech stomp boxes. there is also an amp head control along with a cabinet selection to make a solid state amp sound just like either a valve or a tube amp Plus the wah pedal acts as a wah/volume control/delay control/or a whammy like the floyd Rose system sound even when you dont have a floating tremelo it is well worth the money especially for $100
well i use a boss ns-2 noisegate, which is perfect for that - you get all the sustain you had originally but no string noice, no feedback - you can run your finger along the string and it won't make any noise if you don't want it to
The ns-2 was one of the two I had in mind. The other was the ISP Technologies Decimator Noise Reduction Pedal. It's around $40 more. BUT after reading your reply it sounds like the ns-2 will do what I want.
a real whammy pedal is definitely worth the money - the RP90 only has the ability to move the pitch up by a set amount. The whammy pedal can move notes up or down, add chorus, harmonise and octave your sound
@sarthaksehgal Ya you can, You can change the effects on both but if your looking for an intermediate player I'd recommend going the next model up or something.
@evilotto77cheese not really haha i also have the RP 90, a Jackson Kelly and the Fender Frontman 25R amp and i created a distortion which people think comes out of a Gibson Les Paul honestly, my guitar teacher was amazed that sound came out of my pickups
That was exactly what I needed to know. I've got a Metal Muff which I really like. I've got to get a hold on the unwanted noise and feedback. Thanks again.......
@evilotto77cheese of course these things affect your sound but what i mean is if you get the sound of another guitarist's guitar your half way towards sounding like him/her, the rest depends on the guitarist but if you manage to imitate another guitarists sound that helps you if you get what i mean
Thanks a lot for the demo man. I was considering buying this, primarily for the acoustic modeling and this showed that it can handle it to a good enough degree.
if you set it up as a custom setting, then yes. You can select a distortion, effect, delay, reverb, compression and EQ, and then save it all as one preset. And yes, you can turn off any effect that you don't want and leave just the ones you do want - say having just the 5ths effect on and nothing else, allowing you to use your amp's distortion
it depends what your preset it - normally it works as a volume pedal, but for things like wah and ya-ya it should affect them. If it doesn't do anything, scroll round to expression on the pedal, and makes sure the settings are Pr, 0 and 99. That's what mine is set on so that should work like mine does. Is it for the wah that it doesn't work, or just generally?
Great demo. I got a couple questions if you don't mind. What effect does the noise gate have on buzz and feedback? And what kind of metal are you not recommending this pedal for? Thanks
my father had bought one for me.....well, i change some settings for the presets.....and, i looked into the manual's book to reset it to its original factory settings.....BUT,i STILL couldnt reset it...i followed the instructions-press and hold the store button.... but, i didnt see the Fr display... can u help me out?
Well the RP90 isn't really the right pedal for that (one of the dime distortion pedals would be better) but if you want to try I'd recommend making your own using the Rectifier (r) distortion
i recommend getting one of the digitech RP series pedals - get whichever one you can afford. You get loads of effects for the money it costs, it's really good value
@falloftroy555222 The distortion and effects are two seperate functions on the RP90, so you can mix any distortion with any effect. But as you can only select one effect at a time you can't mix different effects, say, chorus and flange for example
idk how long uve been playing but im sure this applies to guitar the same as violin, but watch ur pinky finger, its curled up most the time(probly stressed) besides that, nice demo, im now going to buyu this pedal
I like grunge(Nirvana,Alice in Chains), garage(The Strokes), alternative(Radiohead), indie(The Pixies, Sonith Youth)(Oasis) rock but also i like 70's rock (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, The Doors, J.Hendrix,Black Sabbath) and also jazz & blues staffs. Would you recomend me this pedal??
i haven't tried it myself, but i don't think it would sound all that great - it's not designed for bass guitars. If you check out the digitech BP series of pedals it's basically the same thing but designed for bass guitars
I would - this pedal has some good classic rock distortions, good effects and some good hard rock distortions. The only this i would recommend it for is high-gain metal but if you're not playing that then it should be fine
medium bass and treble, lots of mids, lots of gain, tiny bit of compression (i'd give you the preset but I don't have it anymore - I don't use the distortions on the RP90 anymore
The RP90 will sound good through any clean channel, regardless of whether it's a modelling amp or not And as for being worth the money - I've never seen another pedal that gives you this many effects for this price
to be quite honest, i'm really not a big fan of the noise gate here - it cuts out the buzz quite well but it severely shortens your sustain. You can hear it cut the note off. And i'm not recommending it for any metal where you need a lot of gain - the high gain settings on this pedal sound quite terrible when compared to, say, my metal master distortion pedal. It works much better as a rock distortion pedal, and an effects pedal
what do you think of this pedal for its whammy and wah type of effects? I watched a video somebody else had, and either they were dirt terrible or the sound of the pedal was no good.. what's your take?
heyy im new to pedals. can i run one trouugh a tube krank amp? and if its on full gain and set the petal to clean will it be clean or what the amp is set at?
I have that very amp and use it with this pedal. Just leave it on the clean channel and turn the two effects dials to off.
They sound great together, definitely get this pedal.
Thanks for the review...Helped me to decide to purchase one....
That "angus" tone is pretty damn close to that AC/DC sound. Can't wait to get mine.
just one distortion stompbox costs about 45-65 dollars On this you get 50 presets and 50 other that u can customize that are all based off of digitech stomp boxes. there is also an amp head control along with a cabinet selection to make a solid state amp sound just like either a valve or a tube amp Plus the wah pedal acts as a wah/volume control/delay control/or a whammy like the floyd Rose system sound even when you dont have a floating tremelo it is well worth the money especially for $100
Yes, either line-in or instrument jack. Or you can use headphones.
no. 21 sounds kickass
I use the vibrato preset a lot for creepy songs, it really sounds good for those songs
well i use a boss ns-2 noisegate, which is perfect for that - you get all the sustain you had originally but no string noice, no feedback - you can run your finger along the string and it won't make any noise if you don't want it to
yupp....the whammy is great....fun to play with
this is an epiphone korina explorer 1958 reissue with stock pickups.
I may replace the pickups in the future but for now these ones are fine
your lead sound is beast
oh my friend has 1 its awesom but i saw a danelectro auto wah and it was great(just a vid)and im getting danelectro pedal effects on christmas also
The ns-2 was one of the two I had in mind. The other was the ISP Technologies Decimator Noise Reduction Pedal. It's around $40 more. BUT after reading your reply it sounds like the ns-2 will do what I want.
thanks for this vid, man! i wasnt sure if i was gonna get it but i def am now
a real whammy pedal is definitely worth the money - the RP90 only has the ability to move the pitch up by a set amount. The whammy pedal can move notes up or down, add chorus, harmonise and octave your sound
i think im going to go get this tomorrow
@sarthaksehgal Ya you can, You can change the effects on both but if your looking for an intermediate player I'd recommend going the next model up or something.
como me gusta esa gibson!!!! y la rp 90 un caño mañana me la compro!!!!!
I'm getting it for christmas :D
can't wait!
I think it was the player cause i used it at Guitar center and i love it infact this friday i am going to get it on black friday
it's surprisingly cheap too - the same price as any regular distortion pedal but with way more features
no. 45 is my fav
i have mine for my christmas gift yesterday :P it's really awesome!
Yes it is
thanks
Thanks for the advice on the acoustic stuff man. I'll just go in-store and try it out. Computer speakers don't really give a good of how stuff sounds.
Thnx man, you really helped me out. Like your video's btw.
@evilotto77cheese not really haha i also have the RP 90, a Jackson Kelly and the Fender Frontman 25R amp and i created a distortion which people think comes out of a Gibson Les Paul honestly, my guitar teacher was amazed that sound came out of my pickups
Phase 24 sounds cool but you just can't help but hear the guitar sound (lackin' amplification) over it XD Great video man and great playing !
That was exactly what I needed to know. I've got a Metal Muff which I really like. I've got to get a hold on the unwanted noise and feedback.
Thanks again.......
Yes, you can
@evilotto77cheese of course these things affect your sound but what i mean is if you get the sound of another guitarist's guitar your half way towards sounding like him/her, the rest depends on the guitarist but if you manage to imitate another guitarists sound that helps you if you get what i mean
And all the time I thought I was the only one... :P
Their will be a lot of guitar solo's on christmas morning
This is with an amp - a Marshall MG100DFX.
The video response is how it sounds direct
i'm gonna buy this
i think its good for beginner because of the presets
it's gonna be fun :D
thank you man, 5*
yeah it's an epiphone - the gibson version often has black pickups
Thanks a lot for the demo man. I was considering buying this, primarily for the acoustic modeling and this showed that it can handle it to a good enough degree.
ME TOO!!!!! ROCK ON BRUTHA
Yeah, you program them all in again
@SnakePitGuitar get an eq pedal, like the MXR 10 band eq. that'll help a lot to get the slash tone
please tell me how to assign the pedal....please in my case its not been assigned please tell me to assign the foot pedal
ayt,,,thnks man//...n keep up da gud work...
if you set it up as a custom setting, then yes.
You can select a distortion, effect, delay, reverb, compression and EQ, and then save it all as one preset.
And yes, you can turn off any effect that you don't want and leave just the ones you do want - say having just the 5ths effect on and nothing else, allowing you to use your amp's distortion
Can you use this pedal without an amp? Like just plug in some headphones and listen your creations and stuff.
Sounds like an awesome pedal! I'm getting one!
yeah i want to see the wah
exactly - the individual effects aren't on the same level as a specific stompbox version but due to the amount you get it's totally worth it
But what about the whammy pedal and wah? Especially the whammy, I'm really curious about how that works.
it depends what your preset it - normally it works as a volume pedal, but for things like wah and ya-ya it should affect them.
Thanks
really cool ..did u edit it by yourself or these effect were into processor ??
@ibanez9800 This is just with the RP90
I got this pedal with 2 years of use for about 75 dollars. It's not stolen. And it works fucking amazingly.
You can combine reverb, delay, distortion and one rack effect (chorus, flange, phaser etc), and you can save them
my father had bought one for me.....well, i change some settings for the presets.....and, i looked into the manual's book to reset it to its original factory settings.....BUT,i STILL couldnt reset it...i followed the instructions-press and hold the store button....
but, i didnt see the Fr display...
can u help me out?

nice...
bought one about a week ago. dying for it to come in!
actually i am going to buy it. and guess when? tomorow!!!!!!!!!
i recommend getting one of the digitech RP series pedals - get whichever one you can afford.

Thanx. I'll try to match it.
No, the only modified ones are my custom settings
@metallicaguz Yep.
Love the camera shakin' in Present 40 at the end haha, can feel the power of the playin' from my PC chair...
Nice explorer =D. nice review too =D
idk how long uve been playing but im sure this applies to guitar the same as violin, but watch ur pinky finger, its curled up most the time(probly stressed)
besides that, nice demo, im now going to buyu this pedal
nice epi explorer, I have the ebony one, I prefer your one though :p
I like grunge(Nirvana,Alice in Chains), garage(The Strokes), alternative(Radiohead), indie(The Pixies, Sonith Youth)(Oasis) rock but also i like 70's rock (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, The Doors, J.Hendrix,Black Sabbath) and also jazz & blues staffs. Would you recomend me this pedal??

Evilotto77cheese you know how activate the expresion pedal of the Rp90? tell me please
could you tell me the details of "Custom My new lead sound" please?, that's the sound i'm looking for
I use Ernie Ball Slinky Top Heavy Bottom strings 10-52
Ok thnx, have you connected it to the pc in this video ? I have a proper sound card and it is quite cool if i can connect it to my pc .
absolutely - you get a lot of effects and distortion models for the money you pay
i think is an epiphone explorer but who knows, it doesnt show very well
can you mix 2 things together, for example, a distorion mixed with some whammy?
Is there a way to get this pedal to make a metal guitar sound from a death metal band?
So can you plug the Digitech RP-90 and another distortion pedal and make them work togheter?
About six and a half years now I think
I'd go for the 80 - as you go through the RP range the sound quality doesn't change a huge amount, just the number of and type of effects present
Yep - it sounds really good too.
That's how I record stuff with this pedal
That big solo mode really sounds like like eruption... Should i buy this ?
Do you think it'd be possible to get a good sound similar to in Holy Wars... The Punishment Due by Megadeth?
What is the setting for the detune in drop c? Is it d2? It goes through d1-9. Thanks.
Mann your awesome i have that pedal =D but man can you plz but the settings of your sounds PLZZZ
I would - this pedal has some good classic rock distortions, good effects and some good hard rock distortions. The only this i would recommend it for is high-gain metal but if you're not playing that then it should be fine
I was improvising - this whole thing is improvised! :)
@damnsadgy The big solo one was a preset that came installed on the RP90 when I bought it from new, I didn't change it at all
bro, at 3:13 would you mind sharing your settings on"CUSTOM My new Rhythm Sound"? thanks..
You don't know me, I'm from India. I don't know if this comment will help you or not, but YOU MADE ME BUY THIS MAN! Awesome!!!
You can just plug this directly into an amp too right?
medium bass and treble, lots of mids, lots of gain, tiny bit of compression
(i'd give you the preset but I don't have it anymore - I don't use the distortions on the RP90 anymore
The RP90 will sound good through any clean channel, regardless of whether it's a modelling amp or not
And as for being worth the money - I've never seen another pedal that gives you this many effects for this price
@evilotto77cheese what do you call sounding like Slash if not sounding like a Les Paul? he only uses a Les Paul........
to be quite honest, i'm really not a big fan of the noise gate here - it cuts out the buzz quite well but it severely shortens your sustain. You can hear it cut the note off.
And i'm not recommending it for any metal where you need a lot of gain - the high gain settings on this pedal sound quite terrible when compared to, say, my metal master distortion pedal. It works much better as a rock distortion pedal, and an effects pedal
can you use this with a bass guitar on a bass amp?
do u think u can get sound similar to vernon reid, cult of personality or some kind of funk meal sound
what do you think of this pedal for its whammy and wah type of effects? I watched a video somebody else had, and either they were dirt terrible or the sound of the pedal was no good.. what's your take?
heyy im new to pedals. can i run one trouugh a tube krank amp? and if its on full gain and set the petal to clean will it be clean or what the amp is set at?
