Great trip Wayne! I'm coming back to Thailand in November for 3 months and this travel vlog series has been very educational & entertaining. Rayong was already on my list but Kanchanaburi and Udan Thani are now must-sees. Cheers!
Nice one Wayne. Don't blame you for wanting aisle seat on the plane. Don't want to get my arsh in people's faces either if I need to get up. 😉 I think you're really going to like that part of Issan. Used to go to Udon alot when I lived in Vientiane. It's a great little place. Take it easy.
Don Mueang used to be Thailand international airport before they built Suvarnabhumi , there was a cheap food court up on the top floor or 4th floor as I remember.
The boy is in Udon Thani 🤩 - I also flew there & just that ride from the airport to that main area , luved the vibe and really enjoyed the place a lot 🤩 - look forward to more ✌️😃👋👌👍🙏
Glad to see you made it!Samphan thamit alley is my hangout.Dont forget Nong Khai while your up there.I sound like a travel agent. My partner comes from Ubon Ratchathani.I never been there but would like to look some day.Nok Air flies direct to Chiang Mai from there. While your there ,try "eat well udon" restaurant near your hotel.Enjoy 😎your travels.God I wish I were over there
You should've walked to Udon from Bangkok mate, you're Walkabout Wayne, not Flyabout Wayne 😁 I thought your next stop would be Hua Hin. Never seen that much chicken in a Thai meal before,, happy days.
Haha.. When I got to Udon the first time I had to find out if there actually was a Nutty Park.. 😁 It was right across the road from my hotel, and was where a lot of the farangs hung out. The railway station is worth a visit, took a lot of photos. The bus from Mo Chit to Don Mueang used to be the only way, these days there is also the new Red Line. Bus is still better though.. Incidentally the Rocket Festival in Isan should be around second week of May. I'd like to be able to make it up there for that one of these years.. probably would have to rent a car to get out to one of the launch sites. Check out the tuk-tuks. Very different compared to Chiang Mai or Bangkok ones.
I read that a good vegetarian restaurant in Udon Thani is Barn-Naa Cafe, also for Thai food Samuay & Sons. Don't know how expensive they may be but they were rated among top five restaurants in Udon Thani. Hope smoke isn't too bad. Be safe man.
Hey Wayne, Udon Thani is on one cities to visit before settling down somewhere. What is your honesty opinion about Udon versus Kanchanaburi which one do you think is better to retire? Both cities look very interested but I would appreciate your input. Thanks again, Bob
That's difficult to answer for someone else mate. I would check both of them out for a while. Udon is probably more suited to my preferred lifestyle, not much happening, just a city with not to much going on. Kanchanaburi is much the same, but it has a magic about it. Cheers Bob
Loved my time in Udon, I wish I stayed a bit longer. Yes! it does help driving on the same side. When I was in Vietnam, my head was scrambled, nearly had so many accidents.
Udon is a big town. Guess 500000 inhabitans. What I missed there is a public swimming pool or hall. No danceclub has reopened either. The beaties work in the tourist places on the coast. I got borred quickly in that town. Central Plaza and Prayak Park are great
Hi Wayne Nice to you in Udon Thani if you have time take a minivan to NongKhai around 60 minutes its a peaceful place one Mekong river check it out. Ore go one motorbike. Greetings S.Sjonger
I wanted to visit Udon Thani when I was in Bangkok, in your last vid you walked by my hotel (twice) and now you are in UT, I don't even have to leave my couch, just log in to your channel, happy travels mate.
icings are relaxed more so than anywhere else! this means nothing to their Thai smile, they are just as coming down south! there education is from the gossip phone, not schooling.
15:09 ... there is a homeless old grandma sitting on the ground. My Thai-wife always tells me not to tip people that have a job, but give money to those who have nothing. Please give her sth next time 🙏 Khop khun krap
Wow Wayne glad you got a seat on this airline, I’m still waiting for refund from them & not confirming a booking. This city looks chilled not like pensive bkk. Surprised to see so much English, must be farang territory. Enjoy 👍
@WalkAboutWayne and that's exactly what adventure is all about my friend. Arrive with no expectations, leave with pleasant surprises. Awesome to see you getting around.
Great trip Wayne! I'm coming back to Thailand in November for 3 months and this travel vlog series has been very educational & entertaining. Rayong was already on my list but Kanchanaburi and Udan Thani are now must-sees. Cheers!
That's great! Thanks. I hope you have a great time. All these places are worth a visit. Thanks
Nong Kai on the Mekong is an hour away, a must for a bike ride and maybe a night or two:-)
Definitely agree with this Wayne. Nong khai is beautiful and on the river. Well worth the visit. Welcome to Isan Province! ❤
Nong Khai has way more to offer than Udon Thani.
Probably not buddy, but you never know 👍
I made a sudden visit to Udon Thany 10 years ago without any plan. I decided to go with the flow. The result is that I love this city.
I'm liking the vibes of Udon. It seems slow pace and Sabai Sabai. It's exactly what I like. Thanks.
Another great video Wayne keep them coming
Thanks mate 👍
That’s a great city, I first visited Udon Thani over 20 years ago. A lot of really good people there. Thanks for the flashback
Thanks mate.
Yeah visiting for the first time end of November 🙏😋🇬🇧
Nice one Wayne.
Don't blame you for wanting aisle seat on the plane. Don't want to get my arsh in people's faces either if I need to get up. 😉

Take it easy.
Do you fly to Udon from Vientiane?
🤣🤣 Nice one mate. Udon seems like a cool town so far mate .
looks calm and peaceful, looking forward to seeing more videos
Udon is a very calm city. Thanks.
Happy days mate, happy days. It looks like you have struck gold from initial observation. Have fun Wayne 🤩
Thanks mate.
I've lived in udon for 6 years it's a great place..
It’s dull and ugly.
Is there a really good massage shop you could recommend?
Seems nice and chilled 👍
Don Mueang used to be Thailand international airport before they built Suvarnabhumi , there was a cheap food court up on the top floor or 4th floor as I remember.

Cheers. No Nong Khai I doubt mate. Yes, Nok Air is the famous flight from CM. A lot of visa runners take that flight. Nice one.
You should've walked to Udon from Bangkok mate, you're Walkabout Wayne, not Flyabout Wayne 😁
I thought your next stop would be Hua Hin.
Never seen that much chicken in a Thai meal before,, happy days.
Changing my name mate 👌

The tuk tuks here are amazing! Like no other 🤣
Look out for Steady Eddie, he's in town too!
Nice

Nice, I found a couple cheap ones. The smoke has been ok here . Thanks buddy.
Nice one mate cheers 🍻 👏
Cheers buddy 👍

lol … you surprised me again buddy 😮 didn’t expect you to end up there 👍 Happy exploring 😎
🤣 Thanks mate.
Hopefully the crazy Songkran water drenching won’t be as bad in udon as Pattaya
I don't know mate 👍
Udon is a bike city, right up your alley. The only things I like in Udon is Dose Factory and the people, have a blast!
Yes, it's great for riding . Probably one of the best places I've been for riding.
Looks like a great spot in Udon Thani !
Like the food stall area .
Cheers Paul. It seems like a nice chilled city.
Udon Thani! You made it mate! Are you checking out any apartments?
I made it!! Probably not mate, but anything can happen.
visit Nong Khai from Udon, Nong Khai is across to Vientiane of Laos, In Nong Khai also visit Tha Bo nice little quiet town. Cheers!
Maybe one day buddy. Cheers.
Thanks for Udon Thani, mister. By the way, you are lucky, Brits, they also drive on the left, in Thailand.
Loved my time in Udon, I wish I stayed a bit longer. Yes! it does help driving on the same side. When I was in Vietnam, my head was scrambled, nearly had so many accidents.
Nice find! Looks pretty laid back for just over 100k population. You'll have to check out the night market and try some of the street food.
It's a nice chilled town, some great markets and people 👍
looks amazing there. I love Krabi
Nice, I hope to get to Krabi one day . 👍
How did you come from Udon Thani Airport to central Udon?
I got a Grab
I had a click 160 cc cost me 300bht a day in Hau Hin
Great little bike for round town
I had the same bike in Hua Hin. 160 Click 👍
You have some bars near where you are Wayne I been there before it’s very chilled compared to Bangkok
Not too far mate
Udon Thanii is much nicer and more pleasant than the terrible Bangkok and Pattaya.
They all got pros and cons I guess.
Ps,.Always get a seat that is forward in the aircraft and you’ll get off the airplane about 20 minutes sooner
No mate, I always need middle of the plane 👍
Do you plan to look at some of the more chill islands?
Hopefully, yes.
@@WalkAboutWayne Looking forward to that!
I hope you end up going to Buriram one day mate? As a bonus they've got a good football team! 😊
I hope to go Buriram one day mate. Great team, but I'm a Chiang Rai supporter.
Very good food option if you take the walk way toward the srt line. There are two ,totally Thai , not touristy restaurants

I had to look twice 🤣🤣
I love this place
Udon is a nice place.
That's where I bought my first tuk tuk and driven back to ban dung 😂
Nice 👍
Steady Eddie is living in Udon Thani you should maybe catch up with him for a sneaky sneaky sip.😂
👍👍
I don’t think it matters where you sit for a 1hr 5 minutes flight
True, 1 hour is too bad. 👍
I enjoyed that.
Cheers mate.
How often do you get a massage ?
It used to.be once a month. But once a week lately.
How much was the flight
Around 2000 Baht.
Hi Wayne
Nice to you in Udon Thani if you have time take a minivan to NongKhai around 60 minutes its a peaceful place one Mekong river check it out. Ore go one motorbike.
Greetings S.Sjonger
Probably not this time. I will certainly not be getting in a minivan. Thanks buddy.
Good on ya mate.
Cheers John 👍
In the isan…… still never been. Good luck 👍🏾
First time for me also.
My first impression it's cheaper less chaos but very quiet for my taste and boring after a few days.
I think you've described it perfectly. Doesn't seem like alot to do here, but I kinda like that.
Are you meeting up with Steady Eddie? 😂
He will definitely bump into him ..
But Eddy will only be grumblin' 😆
Not if Wayne's playing copyright music 🤣
He'll be too busy squirting like a chocolate fountain
😀😀
I like market foods thai
Me too
You went the wrong way. If your going to DMK, take the mrt from term8nal 21 and get of at bang sue and take the srt directly to the airport
No mate, I was fine. Got to DMK, no problems . Cheers buddy.
I wanted to visit Udon Thani when I was in Bangkok, in your last vid you walked by my hotel (twice) and now you are in UT, I don't even have to leave my couch, just log in to your channel, happy travels mate.
Nothing to do or see, don’t bother.
Udon seems like a good place to get away from it all. Not much to do by the looks of it. Nice place to chill for a while though.
better
Air quality by 50%
The air is not to bad here at the minute 👍
Don't laugh I'm in Majorca and t ain't no Thailand!!! Give me Thailand any day of the week, roll on July!! Have fun in Udon!😅
I'm sure you're having a good time in Majorca Shirley. Thailand is waiting for you!
Better night market further down the road to the right where you saw KFC

15:09 ... there is a homeless old grandma sitting on the ground. My Thai-wife always tells me not to tip people that have a job, but give money to those who have nothing. Please give her sth next time 🙏 Khop khun krap
Your wife sounds like a nice person. I give to whoever I choose buddy 👍
Most This make about $10-20/day. And have families. Your wife is wrong.
Two hours before for me, domestic or international flights. I've only ever missed one flight and I was very drunk, check in closed lol
🤣 Luckily I've never missed one. I came very near once though.
Awesome, Wayne.
(flying rats, hahaahah)
Thanks mate 🤣🤣
Wow Wayne glad you got a seat on this airline, I’m still waiting for refund from them & not confirming a booking. This city looks chilled not like pensive bkk. Surprised to see so much English, must be farang territory. Enjoy 👍
I waited for a refund for air Asia for 6 months during COVID . I got it back in the end. Udon is a cool place 👍

Nothing wrong with a rough diamond. Give them a good polish 👍
I remember the days when you only had black beauty.
The good old days 👍
Wayne you need to go back to the market and check that woman out properly later 👌😂
I might go pick her up later 👍
I think Ed Sweeny is still there. Maybe buy him a drink. I'llI' just listen.

Ok I'll admit it. Never ever never did I think you'd make it to Udon Thani.
🤣 I did't know either until last minute.
@WalkAboutWayne and that's exactly what adventure is all about my friend. Arrive with no expectations, leave with pleasant surprises. Awesome to see you getting around.
There’s nothing to do or see in Udon.
I’ve spent a few months there.
Prove me wrong…
I kinda see what you mean already. Doesn't seem to be much.
Maybe Khon Kaen is better?
Looks dead
Very quiet and chilled town.
"You know the drill"! _ "bobby dazzler" @walkaboutwayne.
🤣 You know the drill mate 👍
