the reason why it backfires is because you're engine is running rich. you're basically using more fuel than normal. get a wide band and a tune(every power mod you do, you should get a tune) in the long run it would help your engine last longer.
Your car can compensate for for 15% of the mods you do to it so the things he did his car is fine it doesnt need a tune maybe an engine remap but still

I can agree on the cat delete being a power gain, 08GT500 with VMP 2.3 TVS, gained 40 hp ish from dyno to dyno. So yeah if the ECU is open to it. Not a legal mod but safe in Fl. It even lowers exhaust manifold temps. I am thinking about picking up a clean 350 or not so clean 370 they cost about the same.
A lot of good parts in this one Danny. I’m currently rocking the mishimoto intake silicone tubes and k&n air drop ins and I like em. I do plan to get a try cold air intake maybe next year. I still need to buy the test pipes or hfc for my G37s.

Instead of spending the money on the AAM short tails you can just have a muffler shop do a muffler delete and weld your stock tips back on for under $100. I had this done on my 16' 370z sport as well as a custom H pipe. I get compliments on it all the time.
Danny you recommend the pipes and bits at the back for sound. What parts did you remove to install to Tomei. I'm new and exhausts aren't anything I really understand. Go easy.
I will be purchase a 350z and a 370z soon and wanted advice onto what type of muffler I should get. I have tinnitus and need a low volume muffler...high pitch ones will just hurt way to much.

From my understanding, a cat delete will normally cause an O2 sensor code. Lots of people solve it by installing a spacer of a sort on the exhaust the O2 sensor goes in so it has a distorted air its reading making the car think cats are working
Mohammed Akram there’s no cons if you don’t like it just take it off and start over. It protects your paint and doesn’t damage it. Like sometimes with wraps it can pull the paint off if you don’t take it off the right way.
Honestly man you should never cheap out on parts for the Z never go with air filters if anything you should invest on Injen intakes or Stillen gen 3 long tube intakes and go with tomei test pipes, Y pipe , and tomei exhaust, don’t cheap out and go with a cheap test pipe or aam short tails

I cant decide between Megan Racing and DC sports also i would like to know wich would fit perfectly on my Z cause last time i bought an aftermarket headers for like 200 and one of the headers was rubbing oneof the directionals and it was making a horrible sound and scratching it when i make turns. If any have some headers on their Z please let me know what would be good thank you.
+Mayin Rodriguez There are a lot of bad reviews about Megan Racing headers and I’ve only heard good things about the DC sports. In my opinion I would go with DC but they are a bit more expensive. Just keep doing research and see if its worth it.
I can believe a 10 to 15 hp gain at the crank. Probably like 6 or 7 to the wheels?? Cats are very restrictive. Did you have the check engine light come on though taking out the cats? Bros Fourspeed did after like 1000 miles. (Sorry I'm not plugging another channel)

The 07 and 08 have the better engine and transmission but lack in the brake and suspension department. My girl has the 04 track. I have the 08. She doesn't have the power on the straights but I lacked in the curves until I upgraded my suspension. Now both of us are rocking close to 500 hp and I put the best of both cars into each other. We are neck and neck against each other at the track and still un touched by other cars in our racing class

Anyone saying they gained any more power from air filters or intakes are clueless (if the car is naturally aspirated). I’ve had a vq for the past couple years and the one thing I’ve learned from modifying the vq is that you shouldn’t cheap out or any car for that matter. I started fucking with mine when I was younger like that now all those parts are in the trash

I mean also not tuning you or engine after those mobs is going to make your car run rich = by by engine especially the motor you got probably will eventually start burning oil. I dunno man save for a better setup 370z ain't cheap might as well save for better equipment and tuning my personal opinion
Well the short tails are made for the 370z so I'm not sure if they fit the 350z. I'm sure other companies make similar ones for the 350z. Check to be safe

Blastkiller 2018 2003-2005 has the vq35de , around 280 from engine. 2006 has the revup vq35de, 300hp from the engine, 2007-2008 has vq35hr, which is the same engine as the 370z, dual cold air intakes. Makes around 300hp from the engine as well. There are different trims on the 350z, never get the base, unless you’re not gonna track/drift it. I recommend getting an enthusiast or higher for the trim. Picking up a specific year.. 05 or 08 are your best options due to reliability.

Don't tell people to plastidip their wheels, spray paint and plastidip don't last and starts to look god awful after a short period of time...

Spray paint is an awful idea... but why not encourage platstidip? It's a great product and fairly risk free. If you mess up just peel off and restart!

I chose a $7.50 air filter from some company previously unknown to me. How can I tell the performance difference from a double price brand?
