Good 370Z review Danny. Here’s my notes: Bought a 370Z Nismo a few years back, used completely stock. 2010 Well maintained with only about 40K on the clock. So someone’s garage baby who had to sell when he had a kid. I added: 1. Stillen Gen3 long intakes. 2. Stillen 34 row oil cooler (yes it’s needed in CA) and yes it all fits. 3. Murdered the stock Nismo wheels Black. 4. JVC stereo with backup cam (needed). Problems: 1. Fuel thing Danny says - my gauge just stopped going to full tank. 2. Steering wheel lock failed (common fault) stranded me once. Google for fix. Cost me
Correction: I meant for #2 that 370Z models later than 2013 had no Electronic Steering Column Lock from factory. Google “ESCL 370Z” and check the370Z.com forum for more info. If it’s still working on an earlier than 2013 370Z - pull the fuse before it fails. You will still have anti-theft, just no steering wheel locking.
The automatic trans in these 370z are actually very reliable. With proper maintenance they shouldn't fail on you unless you're pushing quite a bit of power numbers over stock. If you plan on going FBO the auto is fine. If you're looking for forced induction of any sort then the manual is the only option. I bought a auto only because I can only afford to have 2 cars now and if my wife needs to drive my car it would need to be an auto. The only benefit to the auto over a manual is that they are slightly quicker and you don't have to deal with constantly mashing that clutch in bumper to bumper traffic. Manuals on any car will be more fun to drive and "rewarding".
I bought a 07 350z enthusiast convertible. (I like convertibles) Bought it with 75k miles in 2019. 3 previous owners. Everything was stock except the carb legal kn intakes. And the driver window motor was replaced. No reported accidents. Costs: Price: 11k msrp from used dealership Besides the typical oil change/tire rotation, Timing belt (serpentine belt) replacement: $800 Spark plugs: $400 Battery change: $80 Tpms sensors replacement (all 4): Estimates - $500-$1000. Next on the list I knew when I bought it that it may need a little bit of love. I put about 10k miles on the vehicle since I bought it. It’s little issues here and there are popping up. The vehicle just need maintenance. It is hitting its 100k miles soon. Now would I buy this car again? chances are pretty high. Now am I gonna modify it to my liking? Whenever it stops having minor issues, then yeah. Temporarily I’ll keep it as it is until the vehicle stops giving me attitude.
