Imagine going back 1 year and hearing that next gen you could build a PC faster than a 2080 ti for less than the price of the card.
Just shows how overpriced the flag ship cards are. 4070 will do the same to the 3090, same story every 2 years. They cash in on the flagships because they know some people (esp. streamers) will just get the best card available, no matter if it's 800, 1200 or 1500.
@@drchtct the 3090 is the titan equivalent card for professionals and people who have a virtually unlimited budget tho. Even nvidia acknowledges because they officially position the 3080 as the mainstream consumer flagship. And the entire rtx 20 series had fucked up pricing haha

@@Soundaholic92 No, the 3090 is a merge of 2080Ti and Titan positioning. Titan would be too expensive for consumers, bu nVidia saw people are more than willing to pay for he 2080Ti. So they upped the price and performance a bit again and now people who got the 2080Ti will get the 3090

2-8GB sticks is cheaper than 1-16GB stick. Start with 2-8GB, still have 2 empty slots if decide you want 32GB total later👍

Joe Gentleman no at 1080p you might see some bottlenecking anything over 1080p you won’t notice it it becomes more GPU dependent the higher resolution

@Yellow Tail You cant seriously think Nvidia will be low on stock... Its hilarious if you think so... Nvidia have 100% stocked up on these cards so much that they wont be able to sell them all. Only card that wont have a stupid amount of stock is the 3090. This have all been confirmed already, 3090 will have about 1/4th the availability of the 3080 and under.

Man I been waiting 2 years to get a new pc. This will be my first time building. I’m really tempted to just finding a build to get started already. But I’ve waited 2 years only 1 more month until the 3070 comes out. I have to hold the urge😩😩

For my sons computer I used a 3700x in a crosshair vii hero. The included cooler was terrible. Temperatures dropped significantly with a NZXT Kraken x63. I’ll be getting him the 3080 when it releases. I didn’t want to spend a whole lot on a GPU knowing the 3000 series was coming out so I just got the kid a 2060 super. He is going to love this upgrade to the 3080.
@@sloth1996 I hope you're atleast gonna teach him to do some things himself. A person that knows nothing about his own pc is more or less the same thing as some random famous person having a ferrari without the faintest passion or knowledge for cars.

Couldn't you kinda add $200 for the 3080 which would make the budget $1200? Although the cpu would bottleneck, so maybe $1200-$1500. I guess if people had $1200-1500 an extra $500 for $2000 total is affordable for them.

Just use the same stuff... but better. Go 3700X or 3900X for CPU, choose a motherboard with better ports, a PSU with more Watts, etc, it's not rocket science lol

also prices wont fluctuate within a month?, prices of dram are plummeting, so technically the storage and ram should be cheaper, and the prices of power supplies are skyrocketing due to shortages, unless that evens out i dont think prices will be the same.

@@walkingmadnesscrawlingsanity mining isnt really dead and the prices in the used market still reflect that, but even with this sort of performance mining just isnt as profitable as it used to be, main thing being with these new nvidia cards is they draw way too much power for it to make sense.

I understand not all people are fortune to have a family that will provide for them, but if you fortunately do and are over 14. You can get a nice about ish $1500 complete set up with 3080 pc + monitor. if you work 4 months 15 hours per week if your schoolwork doesn't take all your time. but if you live alone and struggle paying the bills, then yes that is unfortunate. Sorry if you were joking and I ruined the mood because I can't detect sarcasm and I'm a boomer about to die XD.

That's awesome giving your friend a nice price but I wonder about the worst case scenario and because I'm paranoid. If what the gpu and cpu stop working and your friend is left with a dead pc? Or is it an extremely rare 0.000...%?

I've been shopping around for the longest and doing my research and I watched this video and saw how you broke it all down and even gave your honest opinions and was sold. Thanks again for all the great insight.
Just ordered everything for this build, but upgraded the B550 for x570 mobo. We'll see how it goes! Last "gaming" system I had was a laptop (XPS m1210) in 2005 that I took overseas, I still have it.
Just a heads up, we had about a 20% failure rate with those A55 SSDs in our computer shop. We stick with WD Blues now. Fast and never a single problem.
Wd blues and Samsung ones are the only ssds I trust atm , have had both brands and haven't had any issues , only issue is WD puts on those ugly sticker's 😂

Both my SSDs are Samsung and I have never had any issues with them after 3 years of use

Just get a better power supply a 2tb hard drive a slightly better motherboard then your monitor will cover the rest of u want it to capitalize the frames your getting. Plus I’m guessing u don’t have keyboard mouse etc

Get a 10600kf. It’s the best cpu for gaming at a cheap price. AMD 3700x is the same price with worse gaming performance.

Why am I just now finding out about a new Medal of Honor game? One of my very first online PC experiences and it's what got me into FPS games. Kinda sucks it's only on the Oculus, but maybe this will get me to buy one.
@@The_Real_Frisbee Do you use a valve index? What a first world nightmare having to spend more money because of game exclusives XD. But yes it does suck because one game I want to play is a ps4 exclusive only. Paying for a whole system for literally 1 one game sucks.
Have you built this computer yet? How do you think it would run exactly as you've built it for Sim Racing on iRacing platform? I was building in pcpartpicker along with you and actually got a +80 Gold Power Supply, but I still haven't been able to find the 3070 available. I'm just curious if you think it would be a rig that would handle the load of Sim Racing without overheating and without needing to be overclocked?
I got a similar build but with a Corsair CX-M Series CX550M 550 Watt 80 PLUS Bronze Certified Power Supply , Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Memory Kit - Black, AMD Ryzen 5 2600X . I'm Using the same case and a wd 500 gig ssd . Do you think my psu will be enough for the new 3070 or should I also change my processor ??

Is there a reason you skipped over the Cooler Master N200? It's main feature is that it's all mesh, it comes with 2 or 3 fans preinstalled, and it's a bit cheaper than the case you chose.
Also, don't kill me but I prefer it when PSU cables are "ketchup and mustard" (or was it the other way around) as you call it. Color coding can make troubleshooting or quick mods so much easier for somebody who has even a basic understanding of electronics.

@@Tsume_- In case you didn't know the gpu node they will use will be Samsung 8nm. It has been reported that their yields are far worse than TSMC 7nm yields. In turn they will have an extremely limited amount for the demand they keynote generated.

im gonna be playing with a 1080p 144hz monitor. Im looking at this build with the 3070 but since I don't really have an expensive monitor, and the ryzen 5 will bottleneck a little, would I just be underusing the 3070? Should I go cheaper and get like a 2060 or 5700xt instead?

Gas money is kinda variable. You could use gas money from Dubai and get a bit better motherboard or you could use gas money from Mars and buy a supercomputer

@Adam You don't need an amazing PSU, 650W or 700W would be enough. Any of the latest CPUs wouldn't bottleneck at resolutions higher than 1080p. At 1080p though yes you'll need one of the faster CPUs to not bottleneck.

If you're gonna build it next summer, go for ryzen 5 5600x, thats gonna be the sweet spot for the 3070
