Three Questions: 1️⃣ Have you ever had Averna? 2️⃣ What’s your favorite Averna cocktail? 3️⃣ Which of the cocktails in this video interest you most? Cheers! 😉🤙🏽🥃
I love that when you don't like (or don't like that much) some cocktail, you actually say it. It doesn't sound like much, but there are guys on YT that have hundreds of cocktail recipe videos and always say that "this is so delicious".
Speaking my language with the Queen's Slipper! I had everything handy except for the walnut liqueur so I subbed it for 1/4 oz of allspice dram. Goes down too easy. Thanks for the recipe!
Vino, dude! The Queens Slipper sounds like exactly my kind of cocktail! I need to see if I can find walnut liqueur! I do have the ingredients for the Sucker in a 3 Piece, so that’s going on the list. I think that Averna was my first Amaro, and one of my absolute favorites.
My man, Rob! The Queens Slipper was exactly what the doctor ordered. Probably my new favorite Averna cocktail. That said, the Sucker in a 3 Piece is a banger too. Cheers pal.
As expected, this series has already delivered in a huge way. I wish I could have that Queens sipper but Walnut liqueur is a no-go for me (allergies), but the Devil's Soul soul might be fun to try, Sucker in a 3 piece might be the winner though-- sounds amazing to me. Saving this vid on my "awesome cocktails" list for future consumption. Cheers, friend!
My man, Dave! Even walnut liqueur is a no-go? Crazy how allergies work. Maybe you can sub for another nut liqueur. It'll likely still be a banger. Hope you're well, pal. Cheers!
@@CoachVinoLLC True! I thought about trying something like dissarono or a hazelnut liqueur but I'm afraid it might be too sweet, though I could lessen the amount perhaps. Either way, I DID try the sucker in a 3 piece last night! Was super awesome as expected!
Solid flight, nice washlines, spirit forward sippers. What is not to like!!!! Need to try the Sucker in a 3 Piece, others have been explored and will again.
Vino!! These cocktails are fabulous! I love, love, love AVERNA!! I would be in bliss with any of these cocktails!! I just finally found a new Carpano Antica and it's a must for a delicious sweet vermouth! Delicious! The Queen's Slipper is a must make! I haven't had this drink. What a great opportunity to have some Smith & Cross! I can see how this all comes together in a beautiful way! I really love The Devil's Soul! Averna is so versatile. Agreed that this cocktail isn't especially complex. Right on. Wow Sucker In a Three Piece looks terrific! It's another drink that I haven't had and what a great opportunity to have cognac and averna! I love Benedictine! If you are makin the cocktail I know I will love it!! Look at those wash lines! Awesome!! Hey Vino check out the Rusty Compass as a bit of a change up to The Rusty Nail which I adore in a massive way! I love the Compass Box Blended Scotch and the addition of Cherry Heering in this beauty. I don't like a cocktail that is too sweet, not at all, but this one is nice! Happy Sunday Vino!! 🙂
Hola Christine! I think you’ll enjoy these all. I mean they are all STIRRED after all. 😉 I’ve had the Rusty Compass and throughly enjoy it. It includes two of my all time favorite liqueurs in a riff of one of my all time favorite cocktails. It’s really a win-win. Have a great week, my dear friend. Cheers!
I was planning on making an order from TotalWine today and I was mulling it over. I think i"m going to have to make that SUCKER IN A 3 PIECE for myself!!! It even goes along with my "3 booze rule" for cocktails. Rye wiskey is my favorite, I've been wanting to try Amaro and cognac. I think it's time to do it! The THE QUEEN'S SLIPPER has 4 types of booze, it misses the mark. Maybe I'll amend the rule this one time and live a little.
I see we are cut from the same cocktail cloth. Ha! I'm all about the three-ingredient cocktail. I tend to lean heavily towards that style. I actually have a three-ingredient series planned. Hope you enjoy! Cheers, pal. 🥃
Funny story about Averna. One New Years Eve (during covid) I started making drinks with Averna. I probably put together about 5 or 6. Of course, I couldn't leave a man down, so I finished everything. It occurred to me later on that it's digestif, and my stomach was not happy.
@@CoachVinoLLC I know we have differences, but if you really enjoy it, I know I will... That's good enough for me... Sure, I might miss out on other things in life, but I'm quite happy going with big winners every time...

Across the Pacific has to be my favorite currently!

Thanks! Yeah, even if my words lied, my face couldn't. haha. So I might has well tell the truth. Thanks for the kind words. Cheers!
Happy Friday Vino! Love me some Averna! I'll be making the Sucker in a 3 piece! Great video as always! Cheers!
I am NOT in a 3 piece suit!!!! HAAAAA!!!
@@TheSpiritoftheCocktail 🤣🤣🤣 Never you Tim!
My man, Sean! Happy Friday pal. I think the Sucker in a 3 Piece is a perfect reason to crack open the Averna this weekend. Cheers!
those all look awesome! I've made the Devil's Soul before, enjoyed it! Cheers!
I think for me, any cocktail where the smoke dominates, doesn’t usually resonate with me.
Speaking my language with the Queen's Slipper! I had everything handy except for the walnut liqueur so I subbed it for 1/4 oz of allspice dram. Goes down too easy. Thanks for the recipe!
Allspice dram as a sub is a cool idea. I love the stuff. Might need to try that. Cheers!
I have a bottle of that stuff and never knew what to make. Excited to see you made this video
Glad I could help inspire you to wipe the dust off that bottle of Averna. Cheers pal!
Fantastic! Never had a Queens Slipper. Looks like a killer!
The Queens Slipper is a Jeff Moore cocktail if there ever was one. Boozy, bold and clean.

Really gotta get into some Amaro drinks, and winter definitely seems like the time to do it!
Amaro and whiskey work REALLY well together. Definitely worth taking the journey.

1 out of 3 that you haven’t tried is a big accomplishment for us RUclipsrs. lol. 😉
@@CoachVinoLLC and that oddity will be rectified :P
Hey Coach great video , i'm just getting into Amaro myself so this series is great!!
Thanks Ben. It's a great category and one you're sure to enjoy even more as you delve into it. Cheers!

Averna is from the deep Mediterranean, it gets more sun and more power to separate out the generic Cola effect. Already perfect neat or on the rocks.
I agree, it's pretty near perfect on it own. Cheers!

Haha! That’s one way to stay “regular” and buzzed. I’m happy to see that the experience didn’t turn you off to amari. Imagine life without it? 😳
I just bought a new bottle, not even a week ago…. Was interested in the mezcal one until I saw your reaction…. Might still, but others first….
Keep in mind, I’m also not the biggest fan of mezcal or peated scotch. It might appeal more to you. Cheers!
