    Gotta agree with “now you know.” It’s your tagline. Arnold Schwarzenegger had “I’ll be back.” This one is yours.

    The fact that you dry shook that Rum Monte while in a light coloured dress goes to show how confident you are in your dry shakes! I usually have to put on something I don't care to spill my cocktail on... Also chiming in for "Now you Know" as the cocktail name.

    Thank you so much for doing this! I’ve been using Amari to change the taste of drinks forever (Negroni 50/50 Campari and Averna or Nonino), and been delighted to hear from the master herself they have a name (sometimes) and it’s not an unspeakable practice as I thought. 🙏🏻

    Oh wow... I'm having your No Name drink right now, and it is so good! Luckily I had some Cocchi Americano on hand. I had to go pretty extravagant with some Four Square 2007 rum, because I didn't have anything else appropriate. But well worth it! Fee Bros Walnut and Aztec Chocolate bitters. "Now You Know" also gets my vote.

    I'm way late to this party , but if I wasn't, I would have suggested "The Caramaro" as the name for your cocktail.

  • @DonQuijoteDeTijuana
    @DonQuijoteDeTijuana 3 года назад +2

    For the original cocktail name ideas, I like:
    ▪ "The Devine" suggestion, as well as others based on that ("Devine Intervetion / Deliverance / Right");
    ▪ "The Cara", as well as the "Caramaro / Caramari" suggestions;
    ▪ something related to the "Down Under" name, or related to "Scottish Girl / Scot in Melbourne / Down Under Scot"... something of sorts;
    ▪ finally, the "A Drink with No Name" suggestion is very appealing... reminds me of the "A Horse with No Name" song (you know, chilling, relaxing, talking about the desert), and the name itself is interesting, kind of mysterious, and even a bit classy of sorts... just imagine: "Give me a Drink with No Name, plaese".
    Btw, I love you and your channel. ♥

    I recently made a Black Manhattan with Meletti Amaro, after attending an online class from Meletti. It was really delicious! I'll try it with Averna too once I have a bottle of that.

    My favourite averna cocktail is a take on the "Intercontinental".
    The original recipe calls for 1/1 brandy and averna, and a dash of maraschino liquor.
    I did 2/0.8 brandy and averna and no maraschino liquor (not completely filling the smaller side of the jigger gives the brandy a bit more space, for me this really makes a difference).
    Basically a "black brandy manhattan".
    It's a really delicious cocktail, rich and elegant - best enjoyed with some soft quiet jazz in the background and dimmed light.
    (btw my first try was with Ramazotti, that's ok too but averna is much better...)

    I love a good Negroni. Suze and aperol are also great, but about some of these others... I picked up the Nonino the other day, based on your recommendation in the previous video, but eventually wanting to get some of these other varieties.. How easily can the Nonino sub in for the Averno or Montenegro? That rum sour looks delicious...

    • @BehindtheBar

      I find Nonino and Montenegro fairly interchangeable. Nonino is much more delicate than Averna but still has the lovely warm citrus notes so works in a lot of the same drinks too.

    Nice and informative video I will try the white negroni. I love cooking and baking but I should have worked with cocktails because you taste the result instantly......The "now you know" name, as others said sound very you. My first suggestion was "Cause I said" but then I thought of "NARC = Nonino + Americano + Rum + Cacao" , or is it too much?.

      Haha ‘don’t be a Narc’?

      sounds nice and mysterious, as a cocktail should sound like "don't be a narc",..... yes it sounds nice. Or "don' t be a narc-issist'.??? Good luck, something says me that the "now you know" will be the winner. .

    "The Drink with no Name" you say? Call it "Blondie". Yes, this is a nod to early Clint Eastwood and Spaghetti Western movies.

    You’re too modest to use this but with a name as good as yours..... I can easily imagine myself asking for a ‘Cara Divine’ at the bar.

      In fact.....why be modest. Everyone has a moment of fame and you deserve it. Call it a Cara Divine. If not then - I have to say ‘Divine Intervention’ is a close second.

    I'm for calling it "Divina" for the Italian version of your last name.

    I’m gonna go with “Scottish bitter”. Love the idea of having your name or your tag line be the name but this doesn’t quite feel like your signature (there’s no gin or sherry). I considered “Scottish bite” but Truffles on the rocks already gave that name to one of his original cocktails. Alternatively, the “Melbourne bitter”

      Haha that’s fair, it’s definitely not a signature!

    I think your drink should be called the "Forever More" - its the one that started you off and seeded your cocktail journey... and happens to also be what you (perhaps subconsciously) said it would be know as during the intro ;-)

    "Now you know" for the obvious reason that it is your special tagline.
    "Trial run" since you came up with it on a request on your trial shift.
