Gotta agree with “now you know.” It’s your tagline. Arnold Schwarzenegger had “I’ll be back.” This one is yours.
Arnold get' invited to a fancy dress ball where they all have to go as classical composers, he says:
'I'll be Bach'
Haha!
He who would pun would pick a pocket...
For your original cocktail, why not call it the "Now You Know"? It looks right up my street, by the way. I have all the ingredients, so I'll try one this evening.
I agree- so now you know or now you know
Seconding on calling this drink the "Now you know".
Adding support for “so now you know”
When you combine your name - Cara - with Nonino, you get “Cariño”, which is lovely word that describes both you, and the drink!
Aw I just had to look that up but it’s cute!
That was damn smooth, but I have to agree with the name.
Great suggestion! Actually perfect.
We have a winner!!
Don't be shy to claim the name! Sounds fabulous!
Name Suggestion: „Devine Intervention“ ;)
Easily one of the most knowledgeable bar professionals on RUclips in terms of technical knowledge and knowledge of the real industry. Criminally underrated channel
Thank you pal, appreciate that!
My wife thinks it should be named “Through the desert”. The reasoning, “she said it’s really juicy and if you’re going through the desert...you should take a drink with no name”
First name that popped into my mind was «Devine delight» 🤷♀️
'Boozy, brooding and take themselves quite seriously' is the best description of Cynar cocktails EVER! Another brilliant video Cara!
Ha! Thanks pal 😊
This is the video that introduced me to amari. I watch it often! Thank you Cara!
The fact that you dry shook that Rum Monte while in a light coloured dress goes to show how confident you are in your dry shakes! I usually have to put on something I don't care to spill my cocktail on... Also chiming in for "Now you Know" as the cocktail name.
Haha! I actually hardly ever wear light tops filming cause I know I’m messy and Josh will freak out about the continuity if I spill 🙈
"Devine Deviation" - you made a twist on a classic and so hence the name
Ooh good!
The "Caranino". And thanks for the great episode. I picked up a bottle of Amaro Lucano, and have been wanting to mix it. Cheers!
Love the Devine Intervention but also throwing “Forever More” in the ring. Great channel!
Thank you so much for doing this! I’ve been using Amari to change the taste of drinks forever (Negroni 50/50 Campari and Averna or Nonino), and been delighted to hear from the master herself they have a name (sometimes) and it’s not an unspeakable practice as I thought. 🙏🏻
Great drinks! I cant wait to try them all. I submit "Got a Right to Be Cocchi" for the as-yet-unnamed cocktail.
I love your videos, Cara. Keep on with 'em!
"now that I run the bar" good on ya!
“ *La Presidenta* “ is all i could think of
Artichoke hold 🤣 that’s a great name. Naming drinks is the hardest part for me. But I have to say it sounds really incredible. 👏👏
Devine Deliverance
I do love the idea of “Now You Know,” but I’d like to suggest you name it the “You’re Hired” in honor of its role in your journey as a masterful and brilliant mixologist.
Haha!
"Devine" fits! 🥃
Rolls of the tongue well when ordering too.
Honestly, “The Drink with No Name” is a pretty badass name all on its own! reminiscent of the hit song by the band America
That's what I'm saying!
I'd call it a "Golden Devine" cocktail. Great episode!
Now You Know-nino 💡
Love all these cocktails!
Great video - I like seeing the options you have with amari. For the drink name, the Devine Wind :-)
Oh wow... I'm having your No Name drink right now, and it is so good! Luckily I had some Cocchi Americano on hand. I had to go pretty extravagant with some Four Square 2007 rum, because I didn't have anything else appropriate. But well worth it! Fee Bros Walnut and Aztec Chocolate bitters. "Now You Know" also gets my vote.
I'm way late to this party , but if I wasn't, I would have suggested "The Caramaro" as the name for your cocktail.
For the original cocktail name ideas, I like:
▪ "The Devine" suggestion, as well as others based on that ("Devine Intervetion / Deliverance / Right");
▪ "The Cara", as well as the "Caramaro / Caramari" suggestions;
▪ something related to the "Down Under" name, or related to "Scottish Girl / Scot in Melbourne / Down Under Scot"... something of sorts;
▪ finally, the "A Drink with No Name" suggestion is very appealing... reminds me of the "A Horse with No Name" song (you know, chilling, relaxing, talking about the desert), and the name itself is interesting, kind of mysterious, and even a bit classy of sorts... just imagine: "Give me a Drink with No Name, plaese".
Btw, I love you and your channel. ♥
From Scotland/Europe with Love.
I'd cast a vote for "treat yourself", and suggest that in it's top shelf form, made with the good stuff, it should be called the "divine treat"
This drink needs to be named either the "Treat Yourself", or "I Run the Bar Now"
Ooh I like the last one 😜
Plantation dark is delicious! One of my go-tos
Enjoyed seeing you use Diplomatico Reserva as that is currently my rum of choice.
This one just made it's way to my local, so I may be giving it a try soon.🤔
The Artichoke Hold sounds really amazing! Gonna have to get some Cynar.
I recently made a Black Manhattan with Meletti Amaro, after attending an online class from Meletti. It was really delicious! I'll try it with Averna too once I have a bottle of that.
It's looking like 2021 is going to be all about building out my amaro selection :)
Black Manhattans w/ high rye bourbons (think Wild Turkey 101 or Knob Creek) are awesome!! I've knocked back more than a couple of them.
God damnit I love this channel.
I suggest "Cara's Divine." Wonderful video!!
The Black Manhattan is an amazing cocktail, after seeing the video I had to pick up some Averna (I'm the manager of a package store). I really wanna try the Naked and Famous, I love the Paper Plane and a Mezcal variation sounds amazing
Averna is definitely one of my preferred amari. Trying to get into them more, but Fernet for example will forever be my Achilles heel
Fantastic. I do admit I like the name "The drink with no name" Could shorten it to "The Nameless" I will have to make one soon.
Wow. I just made The Drink With No... I mean the Cariño, and I don't want to sound too dramatic about it but in my book that's about as close to a perfect cocktail as they come. Absolutely amazing. :)
Amazing, so glad you like it!
I don't know what you call it but the drink is gorgeous... I'd suggest "One Hand Tied" behind the bar, as it seems like an easy drink, but it's very complex in flavors.
Maybe call it the "Shoe In" since it made you the shoe in for the job. Caramara Devine sounds cool too.
Awesome work as always... Cheers!
Haha! My mum used to call me Caramarara.
I second the "Now you know"
And the white Negroni was delicious. The Suze really dominates the drink despite being the smallest addition.
Amaro Devine!
My favourite averna cocktail is a take on the "Intercontinental".
The original recipe calls for 1/1 brandy and averna, and a dash of maraschino liquor.
I did 2/0.8 brandy and averna and no maraschino liquor (not completely filling the smaller side of the jigger gives the brandy a bit more space, for me this really makes a difference).
Basically a "black brandy manhattan".
It's a really delicious cocktail, rich and elegant - best enjoyed with some soft quiet jazz in the background and dimmed light.
(btw my first try was with Ramazotti, that's ok too but averna is much better...)
Thanks Cara, this is one of the most mouthwatering episodes yet. 😋
The magic you have shown with sherry and amari is a never-ending delight. Although it makes me feel I'm never catching up.😓😏
SO ... NAMES.
How about:
THE BITTER BEND
THE BOSS'S TEST
THE COCCHI COCKTAIL
Happy judging!😊
Ooh I like the Boss’s Test...
The Forevermore cocktail ❤
The Devine Right! 👑
I'm throwing my hat into the ring for "So now you know"
Got two name suggestions. 1) "Trial shift" because then you'll never run out of barbacks. 2) "What are bitters?" because three of the ingredients contain bettering agents, and you can say "now you know" as you serve the drink.
Forevermore… like you said.
The "Now you know" idea is very good; however, you're searching for a name. So, how about, "Now You Know the Name"?
The Rum Monti Sour was divine.
That's the recipe I like the most. Definitely give that a try this summer
I'll put forward "Thistle Down Under" for the no-name non-negroni original. BTW, your videos have single-handled upped my pandemic home cocktail game!
I have to cede that “Now you know” is pretty spot on, but my first thought was “Golden Hour”
Sounds too much like Golden Shower....which could totally work.
"Cocktail to be named later ". BOOM!!!!
Great drinks, Love the Glasses!!! Really like the rum drink, hmmm. The drink name? The Amari Devine
Hi Cara, great video as always! What is the brand of the cocktail glass that you pour white negroni in?
_Forevermore_
I think you should call it "The Drink with No Name". Sounds fun and mysterious. It'll get people to order.
Great video. You missed the lemon juice in the sour recipe in the description.
Thank you!
Given where you work, "The Bombastic" is a good fit. Personally, I'm leaning towards "The Glasgow Kiss"!
The Glasgow Kiss would have to have Buckfast...
@@BehindtheBar Of course it would! I should have thought of that. You should develop a whole line of Buckfast cocktails - "The Glasgow Kiss", "A Kick in the Goolies", etc.
Devine Pride
I have a cocktail I haven’t named in 20 years or so. It combines Spiced Rum, Midori, Melon Vodka and Banana Liqueur, and is one of my wife’s favourites, though I’m not so keen myself. I also have one I’ve named 28% of Cocktails Are Made Up On The Spot...
Haha love that!
I suggest namig it Diplocanonino!
...a delicious mouthful!
Great video. Name Suggestion: The Bitter Diplomat.
Yes, I like this!
The Divine Cara (if it’s not already been suggested)
Caramaro or Caramari sound good :)
How about “faffing about”? Great video as always!
I’d like Devinely mine. Bartender mixes the cocktail and then serves it saying: “Devinely Yours.”
I love a good Negroni. Suze and aperol are also great, but about some of these others... I picked up the Nonino the other day, based on your recommendation in the previous video, but eventually wanting to get some of these other varieties.. How easily can the Nonino sub in for the Averno or Montenegro? That rum sour looks delicious...
I find Nonino and Montenegro fairly interchangeable. Nonino is much more delicate than Averna but still has the lovely warm citrus notes so works in a lot of the same drinks too.
How about the "Bittersweet Decorum"?!
I think "drink with no name" is suitably epic and doesn't actually need to be changed. However, seeing as its star ingredient is the Nonino and in keeping with the Spaghetti Western theme, how about "bevanda senza nome"?
Golden Tone
challenge accepted, back to the antique shop for awesome glassware to dust off and bring out to party once again!
"Always fine strain when you're using egg white as it prevents the ice chips from messing up your nice foamy head" Thanks for the wisdom!
Can be called "Bitter sweet".
What is the glass that the original cocktail went into? Looks great!
It’s from the local hospitality supplier (Chef’s Hat) 😊
Nice and informative video I will try the white negroni. I love cooking and baking but I should have worked with cocktails because you taste the result instantly......The "now you know" name, as others said sound very you. My first suggestion was "Cause I said" but then I thought of "NARC = Nonino + Americano + Rum + Cacao" , or is it too much?.
Haha ‘don’t be a Narc’?
sounds nice and mysterious, as a cocktail should sound like "don't be a narc",..... yes it sounds nice. Or "don' t be a narc-issist'.??? Good luck, something says me that the "now you know" will be the winner. .
"The Drink with no Name" you say? Call it "Blondie". Yes, this is a nod to early Clint Eastwood and Spaghetti Western movies.
The "Cara-mia"
You’re too modest to use this but with a name as good as yours..... I can easily imagine myself asking for a ‘Cara Divine’ at the bar.
😂
In fact.....why be modest. Everyone has a moment of fame and you deserve it. Call it a Cara Divine. If not then - I have to say ‘Divine Intervention’ is a close second.
I'm for calling it "Divina" for the Italian version of your last name.
The lemon juice is missing from the recipe in the description for the Rum Monte Sour
Oops, thanks pal!
Amaro Amori
I’m gonna go with “Scottish bitter”. Love the idea of having your name or your tag line be the name but this doesn’t quite feel like your signature (there’s no gin or sherry). I considered “Scottish bite” but Truffles on the rocks already gave that name to one of his original cocktails. Alternatively, the “Melbourne bitter”
Haha that’s fair, it’s definitely not a signature!
in the description the lemon juice is missing from the monte sour!
Well spotted, thanks for letting us know. All fixed now.
I think your drink should be called the "Forever More" - its the one that started you off and seeded your cocktail journey... and happens to also be what you (perhaps subconsciously) said it would be know as during the intro ;-)
Another informative and fun video! What do you think of "Cara's Resume" for a name for your cocktail?
Haha that’s fair!
@@BehindtheBar haha 😄
Call it the Devine cocktail
The Cara Lily.
You should keep it simple and call it the Devine.
I bought a bottle of amaro nonino because of this video.
Let me know how you like it!
Obviously Te Devine
"Now you know" for the obvious reason that it is your special tagline.
"Trial run" since you came up with it on a request on your trial shift.
I like Trial Run actually!
Nonino Devine
Hi Cara, You could call it a "Trimbaker" then it would remind you of me. : )
Haha!
The drink with no name = Devine Knowledge
Well up to standard--which is saying a lot.
Now You Know! T he NYK
