This is definitely the best duel boss in the tales games I have played. Maybe out of all of them in every game, just in terms of story significance and fun factor. Can't be sure but it is definitely up there

I find it impossible to play this battle without the volume cranked up to max. Not only because of the great music, but also simply because of how very IMPORTANT this battle is. I mean, it's not really as challenging as I wish it could've been, but it's still a very intense battle, a final battle to decide which is better-The original, or the replica. Asch, or Luke.

Rending Saber will be used in all modes. If Luke performs a Mystic Arte (both Yulia City and Eldrant battles), he will counter and use his' instead unless he's in the air. That's why you use moves like Devil's Inferno, Slag Assault or Light Spear Cannon to link it. If you have Turnless, as long as you do any Arcane Arte before hannd, it will work as well (example: Lightning Blade> Rending Thurst)
when u start the game and get to the point of choral castle choose to walk back to the navel port. go to the lobby and u'll see the sword sticking in the floor. defeat the Sword Dancer and part 2 will unlock. Part 2 is when ur walking to theor forest from the broken bridge. u'll see one of those areas that usually have items for din's shop, but the sword dancer is waiting there. part 3 is on the island of feres. enter and exit the replica building twice, the sword will appear win and you get it.
Oops. I meant Lightning Tiger Blade. It's fun if you fight using a base arte then arcane... If you link arcane artes, one after another, your tp will drain faster than Asch losing blood seeing Natalia in her swimsuit.
if you want that you should play Resonance of Fate everyone uses guns and fight monsters and machines. (you also use grenades and potions of course but other things like anti damage abilities are actually force fields.)
This is the least thought out scene in the entire game. XD But that's what makes it so great. Asch: *Kicks door* Luke: *falls from sky* Asch: oh hi thar. We can't get out. *opens door* *stands still for 15 seconds* *door finally closes slowly* Asch: one of us has to stay here. insert generic tales speech*(honestly I'm sure I've heard it in every game.) True. If you stay calm, even when fear is choking you to death, you may find a light at the end of that narrow tunnel of possibility. Takes a lot of self control do though.
He can't counter with Rending Saber when he's in the air when you go into Radiant Howl. You kept him in the air with Light Spear cannon -> Radiant Howl. So you weren't lucky when he didn't use it.
Am i the only one who noticed how both Luke and Asch looked super tired and beaten at the end of the fight? This battle is so perfect in the story and with the music and characters.
@hellmaker51 It's the sword you get for beating Sword Dancer 3. You can find him at the end of the floating city around Yulia City after completing it and walking back a room from the end instead of teleporting out so you don't have to do it again. You can only fight him if you beat his first two forms.
i was using Guy for mostly the whole game cause i like his fighting style better, so when i got to this part i realized i was fucked cause i didn't really set skills for Luke at all x.x
I'm on my second playthrough and I'm trying to go through the whole game with each character's initial/signature weapons. I can't wait to see what challenge it holds!
