This is an excellent tip. My kids over halfway through the season with the leading batting average SO FAR but he’s lacking some power. This might just be that missing link. Much appreciated for the advice.
Often intentionally creating the effect while doing the move (in the case allowing your back knee to drop when you turn rather than drifting forward) can help you feel the move correctly. The reason guys drift is because the body doesn’t instinctively know how to create that much force without drifting, and if the knee doesn’t go down to make way for the torque it’s not possible.
He drifts forward in his stride (which all hitters do) but if you look at his head once his front foot lands, it doesn’t move during his swing. Hope this helps
@@felixbabe6215 Well said. Positive move occurs as you stride forward and move your center of mass(COM) forward into launch position. But once you begin to rotate you don’t move forward anymore with your COM….if you do continue to move forward with COM once you begin rotation, then you are drifting and leaking energy (typically called a weak front side).
Thanks for the tip

Which workouts would you use to train the muscles that produce that torque?
No.. don’t throw the back leg down, that is the effect of moving properly not the cause. This would also disrupt the Kinetic chain
What would you suggest?

question I’m just curious acuna seems to have a big drift forward is he just a monster which he is or is he also relying heavily on his backside

@@elforrestgumphe is giving accurate info. Drifting forward in the swing is bad, unnecessary movement
@@Baseball2287 And if so, what is he doing making videos for RUclips and he is not in the major leagues?
@@elforrestgump not everyone can make it. Some people are better teachers than players themselves
