The first time I heard this song a couple of years ago it automatically became a classic in my collection, up there with all the great songs by Waits, Cohen, Cash, Bowie, etc. It's untouchable beauty.
I collect off the beaten path local road-trip songs to add to the passion of being free from stress while cruising and although most have the bass music, I am blown away how he uses his vocal bass to steal the lead. It’s almost criminal to go against the norm and lower the vocals even more. And like a renegade he pulls it off even more so. I don't know who these two are - but they are just wonderful. I've been listening to music since the 60's - so at my age one doesn't classify or brand music as one once did. Now, I just come across a tune that just makes me feel good. And this is a song that does. Some here apparently don't much dig this - and that's cool. Everybody is entitled to their own taste I guess. What are you gonna do. That's what makes us all unique individuals.
