Thanks for someone FINALLY clearly explaining the differences between Bias Amp vs FX program types! Really confusing for someone checking out their software for the 1st time. Bias's website makes it difficult to compare for who knows why.
Hidden tip: On bias amp 2 lite version...since you limited on mic placement , when you load an amp... if you want to change the mic placement go straight to the pre amp presets. Some of them are already dialed and mic has been moved to a better position depending the name on the preset. (ex; British tube-mic as been placed on the edge of the speaker instead of front of the cone as it is on the default) Note that you cant see where the mic is on lite version but you'll hear the change on frequency. From there you can now dial the preamp and create the sound you looking for. Of course this is one option if the only thing you have is lite version.
Good video. I saw some conversations where people were talking about running Bias FX in front of Bias AMP2 to combine them. I was thinking .. "did they seriously not integrate them so that you can just do it all in Bias FX?" And this clears everything up :)
I still don't understand how you are able to "download" more amps? I have a desktop Bias FX 2 elite license with all the bells and whistles, but many of my favourites (V2 version of Tweed, Mesa Roadster,Friedman, Soldano etc) are not part of the mobile collection. How do you do that?

Thanks Steve - exactly the video I was looking for. I've been using Bias Amp 2 (Soldano amp) and then a separate FX instance in DAW of Bias FX for the effects. I'd just turn off the amp within Bias FX. Now I have Bias Amp 2 Pro & Bias FX 2 Pro and want to import a tweaked boutique amp from Bias Amp 2 into Bias FX 2 ... I wasn't sure if i could do that. So maybe now I can run just one instance of the plugin within my DAW. I'll try it tonight! Thanks Steve!
I am using a focurite scarlet18i8 with bias amp 2 and the tone is not going thru the software I just get a clean sound I dont get it . I am usuing a windows pc. Any help would be appreciated
this all fun and games but why duz someone not do a vid on how to use this software on a guitar amp not one of these new shitty amps but a proper amp and mixer not ipad irig a pc and mixer interface
Why is my interface not the same as yours the amps and cabs are seperated AND the cloud isnt the same at all . I cant research anything on tonecloud. I did buy both programs Elite versions
I am not sure, maybe someone here can help, otherwise, you might have to contact Positive Grid and see what they say. They are quite responsive on Facebook, or their Customer Support from their website. I hope you find the answer!

If you are going to be using BIAS Amp Rack hardware with BIAS FX 2 you will need to shut off the amps in the BIAS FX so that you don't duplicate amps since your BIAS Amp rack hardware device has one saved on it already, this is where Postive grid failed in integration. There is no way to bypass the amp head simulation ( though Cab simulation can be shut); so in a scenario where i would like to use the BIAS Amp Solid state Hardware with BIAS FX especially when BIAS FX has more than 1 simulation amp being used, i just cannot without having to start my signal chain with a preset that is already on my Amp head device :(
Extremely disappointed that PositiveGrid now double dips by charging TWICE when buying apps/expansions for both iPhone & iPad. Didn’t do this in past! I’d have 2 spend over $100 w/ SALE prices no less to get Bias Amp 2 on both devices. Nope, I’ll go 2 the competition in future.

Go to ToneCloud from within Bias FX and you'll see all the amps you can purchase.

I can’t get this to sound good. It’s tinny. Leads sounds dry and horrible? Using Mac Pro via focusrite solo. Out to headphones? Any help?
