Bobby Sheehan is one of the greatest bass players that ever lived. His loss in 1999 was a terrible shame. Guys just don't play bass like that. He was a true artist.
Just finished watching Kingpen on Comedy Central, waiting for this song to play through the credits....of course Comedy Central shrunk the credits down to a postage stamp size so they could show a commercial for Josh 2.0. Grrrr! I'm happy to find it here on RUclips, I needed my Blues Traveler fix!
This movie is just perfect! The script, the cast, the soundtrack and also the fact that I love bowling and Woody! And what to say about that song? Just one of my favorites!
I love how Ishmael completely arced his character towards the end being influenced by the "English" - straight up GQ denim head to toe, with a fedora and a gold chain that said "Ishmael". One of the best scripts of all time!
I had never heard this song until about 2 months ago until I watched kingpin. and wow usually I don't watch the credits this song I fell in love with. also head over heels from tears for fears which I had heard before but never took much notice until Donnie darko. made me think how much awesome music that's out there that we will never hear just because their isn't enough time in life to find it all let alone experience and listen to it. I don't like missing out lol
It's funny, the first time I remember seeing this movie and then listening and watching BT I could not believe that a human was playing some of that stuff on a harmonica. Since those days, I have taken up the mouth harp and become a big fan of BT... RIP Bob. Just keep doing your thing John and things will be cool. Let what happen just happen, nothing we can do about that one.
Awesome, thanks for posting this. One of my favorite movies and a favorite Blues Traveler moment. Also loved the camio of Popper as the announcer at the Bowling Tournament in Reno.
Guy on bass breaks it down big time! All former Juilliard classmates from what I understand. You can tell, good stuff! Didn't know they were amish, LOL! That was a nice touch.
I love the movie Kingpin. My favorite lines are: "What did I just say?" "I think I tore my sac?" I love how Randy Quaid dances to this song. He is such a versatile actor.
The movie is amazing and the credits are next level. I grew up watching this movie. Now I spend my elderly days driving around Lancaster PA looking for leads on brother munston..
Easily the GREATEST ever!!! Saw the blues traveler open up for train last night in burgettstown pa. Right 👍 before train came on stage, jewel performed an absolute brilliant set!!! You had to be there. SHAME 😳🤔 it wasn't sold out with All of that talent!!!!! Just goes to show the ignorance of the new generation that doesn't appreciate TRUE talent!!!!
I've heard Blues Traveler first in this film few years ago and was amazed!!! It was hard to find the artist, because I did not even know the name of the film, bit music god was on my side :)
I just watched the movie Kingpin and saw these closing credirs, I'd never heard of the song or the band before but was absolutely blown away! My wife and I actually started laughing like "WTF?!" when he started doing those super fast complex harmonica solos, ive never heard anything like it before
Dude, this tune rocks so much! I too was introduced to the Blues Travelers thru the fabulous closing credits of Kingpin... I remember having watched the whole movie while on the pc, so I was kinda watching, kinda chatting and kinda eating so wasnt truly paying much attention to it, especially after the credits started rolling by...
My favorite Farley bro movie next to me n my self n Irene n something about Mary omg what a nice time period to also n to comnlment the same as the other person blessed n fornate to live in this time
Yep, marx, there is indeed a ton of music out there. BTs is one of my favorie bands. The multitalented Popper with guys is just awesome. Being a harmonica player I am a very big fan. He plays a Hohner Special 20 with no modifications. What you see, or hear, is what you get. Peace 'bros!!
Oh, I'm sorry. I hope you didn't experience any sympathy pains. I just think that line is hilarious. It reminds me of Spinal Tap..."What happened to your last drummer? Bizarre gardening accident." I love that kind of humor.
Yep, thanks Chrisg, I stand corrected. It's funny, I used to fool around with the mouth harp years ago. Somewhere along the time lines I started referring to the harmonica as a mouth harp, guess that could be confusing. Anywho, thanks for pointing that out to me.....and, as always, happy harping!!!!
But when the bass solo kicked in I was immediately hooked! Started looking frantically thru the credits to find the name of the song, logged on to youtube, typed "but anyway kingpin" BINGO! There it was, exactly what I wanted to see heheheh GOTTA LOVE RUclips AND THE BLUES TRAVELERS! FUCKING GREAT SONG!
@zoen23 You might be right. I recall Stevie Wonder doing some good playing and Lee Oscar from War, but this might be the most impressive. ...and I must admit, it was the harmonica playing that drew me into the song so much that I had to replay this segment three or four times on a Blockbuster rental...
this film was my first exposure to BT too - theyre not exactly in the record stores in australia under the 'everybodys heard this' section! john popper is truly one of the most remarkable voices we have on this planet, the mans a treasure :D
excellent underrated film one of the farelly brothers best people just forget it sometimes, 10 out of 10 on getting the end credits on here for a good old reminisce.tata x
It always bothered me to see this film on TV....because they completely chopped the ending to remove this footage. I clearly remember it from seeing it in the theater though.
I asked my fiancé what was the name of that movie we saw where the Jewish guys are singing that song that goes “but anyway” and he has no idea what I’m talking about. Hours pass and I’m still trying to think of the right word, I knew it wasn’t “Jewish” so I google: “name of Jewish group” “what religion is Jedidiah” “similar to Mennonite” and w00t there’s the word, Amish. Still needed more info, commence Googling. “Amish song oh but anyways” “blues traveler but anyway Netflix show” and finally... “blues traveler but anyway Netflix show Amish” and BINGO, it brought me here. Thank u internet
This movie embodies everything I miss about the 90's. Let's be honest, it was a much more fun time to be alive.
Truth 💯
Bobby Sheehan is one of the greatest bass players that ever lived. His loss in 1999 was a terrible shame.

No, no… that’s… no… that stuff is behind me I… why you buying?
dude must have made a deal with the devil to play a harmonica like that.
There's something to be said about practice, am I right?
Dude's awesome!
I realize I am kinda off topic but do anyone know a good place to watch new movies online?
@Kameron Augustine Flixportal xD

Nick: you heard it at the end of the movie, Kingpin, with woody harrelson & randy quaid!
Did you start dancing? Could have got messy

I just loves his voice. I bet if he had sung the gospels, he'd blew it away!!!
I remember watching Kingpin at the movies. Still a great movie in 2022!
Every time that I think I have mastered that little music machine I listen to this!
Right, does this guy blow or what?!
I feel the same about playing bass...Bobby Sheehan was next level, as is John Popper.
Awesome, thanks for posting this. One of my favorite movies and a favorite Blues Traveler moment. Also loved the camio of Popper as the announcer at the Bowling Tournament in Reno.

It's one of my favorite closing credits for a movie. Another is The Frighteners with Don't Fear The Reaper redone by The Mutten Birds.

Munson with a full bucket and milk mustache - "I milked the cow." "We don't have a cow...We have a bull." "I'm going to go brush my teeth."

@wikkid2 sing it sister...people remember ''the good old days'' and don't bother trying to find the great hidden music that is around these days..
