Yes! The music is incredible, but the happiness he brings to the kids behind the stage is amazing! It says something about his humanity in a great way.❤
We need LOTS MORE OF THIS❤
I absolutely love this comment x
Now I know why John Popper is such a big man. He needs a big frame for the size of his heart.
Its to house them LUNGS along with that heart
Him playing to those kids both broke and rescued my heart simultaneously. WOW.
3:14 is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and I'm old. I'm crying like a little girl. The way she looks at him and connects and then takes a couple deep breaths as the music was moving her. It let's you know there is a God when you see that beautiful little girl's face and hear that perfect music.
This exactly. I’m sure over the years I’ve posted a comment about this exact moment before, somewhere down there in the thread. The look on her face when he makes that change- that’s what IT is all about right there. You can tell that she was feeling exactly what every other person in that venue was feeling, regardless of one’s “intelligence level”.
Music is one of the very oldest, most ancient activities that humans have ever engaged in with one another. There’s a reason that no matter who you are or where you come from: music connects us.
@@secretsquirrelz Yup.
agree was beautiful!
This concert hit me to the core my boy drowned in Edmon to Alberta in Londonderry pool the year he drowned I seen blues traveler and they. Were the most beautiful thing? I've seen and it took away a lot of my pains and hurts. I was going through at the time. They Are very underrated as a band and as a general. I am the blues great from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet and I swear to God. This was the beautiful moment of life seeing 2 children. They couldn't sing out or sing back but they showed their emotions are the same.
I could have written this comment verbatim. I'm in tears. So beautiful!
Those special kids in the back, especially the one with the white shirt, was having the time of their life !
This was some of the most underrated music of my generation. I HATE that they never got the recognition they deserved... and still don't
Pretty well multi award winning. I dont think that they did too bad
They were featured in one of the greatest 90s comedies Kingpin and he appeared on Roseanne as a person like himself. He got around
know what you mean - 8 miles high was the sound of it's time - the mid 60's tho oney lasted on air play for 10 weeks
So true!! Awesome music!
They certainly aren’t The Rolling Stones but they did pretty darn good for themselves. 🤷♂️
Definitely a household name at the time. That’s some good recognition that some bands would die for.
The kids feeling every note of that harmonica is BEAUTIFUL, great show boys...
Well, from the waist up atleast.
@@breastmeatonly you're a piece of fucking shit.
@@breastmeatonly You will suffer the same weight problem at some point in your life. I hope you see someone make the same comment about YOU.
@@breastmeatonly Fuck off junior!
@@proudvietvet2926 hey i forgot thank you for your service man im sorry about that🙏🏻 my uncle serve 3 consecutive tours no rotation out i have his letter of recommendation for his silver star😳😳😳😳 im a sick retired NYPD 1st responder 9/11 i have generations of active duty family members so much love👊
I noticed halfway through the video, that he was turning his back to play FOR the kids. Wow, brought tears to my eyes to see their joy, what a sweet thing for John to do!!
Man, I'm so slow. I was 42ish when this song was popular...now I'm 72. Always loved their music, but didn't realize til tonight, listening to
Spotify on my tablet, how beautiful this band is. The very way they were getting thru to those children....melts my heart, and brings on the tears.
At 2:39, he picks up another harmonica, looks at it, throws the one down that he’s playing and switches to the new one. All without missing a note. He’s frickin amazing. That being said, the joy that he brought to those kids is the best part of this video by far ❤️
I don't think we would see that in another performance by anyone else ✌️🤟🤙
Sean, your 100% absolutely correct. Dead on. There is no talent left in our world capable of even performing for a group of kids or even adults. Nothing close to these guys. Funny part this isn't even music i listen to often at all but these guys. Skillz, madd skillz
@@andrewtignor7443 Very true, funny thing to I wouldn't have given them a chance either until kingpin 🤣🤣✌️🤟🤙
Great catch.
He switched harmonicas because one was full of saliva for a dryer one
One of the best things I've ever seen.
Great to see the band giving those kids some attention. Kids seem to be having a grand ol' time. Bravo!!
These guys are players. Serious chops. That acoustic bass is so cool.
Tadesan RIP Bobby Sheehan
You don't see that very often. That is fantastic. RIP Bobby Sheehan.
Love how John so effortlessly made those kid's faces light up like Christmas trees. And the harmonica gifts at the end was awesome... That first kid was so excited. Mad props!
OMG! At 3:15, the little girl in wheelchair (presumably, w/Cerebral Palsy) is jamming!!
She appears to be drawn in deeply then reacts to (harmonica/music) harmony, complexity rhythmically (frisson?)...
That is not only adorable but fascinating and heartfelt- he gave them a life changing experience by playing that thang- he is one bad dude! Love Blues Traveler
Just absolutely brilliant! It proves music can bring joy to everyone, the look on those childrens faces was priceless, music is everything!
I have played the guitar professionally for over 40 years and scores of bands. This is THE finest and most heart warming video I have ever seen! To see the performers turn around and play exclusively for special needs children literally brought tears to this old musicians eyes! To top that, he hands out Harmonicas to each child! True Class Act!
God Bless and R.I.P. Bobby! Your music is STILL loved and cherished!
I totally agree. Brought me from tears to smiles. And my friend made that ring for Popper for winning a Grammy.
I agree I love it also and it makes me smile. Pearl Jam has done a similar show you should check out it is so great.
@@johnpatrick5071 Will do Brother! Thanks!
Same here brother, I have an autistic grandson and When I Saw those kids enjoy the music -It went right to my heart!.
@@MarcusEye Not many musicians take any time with special needs children. This just shows you the caliber of men in this Group!
Personally, I would LOVE to meet them and hear them up close!
KING PIN!!
YES!!
I loved how every band turned and played directly to the kids behind them....Very cool
Lesley Davies Yeah, it’s sort of a humbling experience for both people.
not the drummer though.... I am sorry
Still watching this in 2024.
The kids make me happy.
Love John harmonicas are just the best
I have seen many, many concerts. But this one is by far the best!!! Such pure joy on those precious faces!!!😂😀💕
Man those kids in the back were loving it! What a great performance! 👍🏻
God bless BT, I miss Bobby Sheehan, " The Mountains Win Again" RIP Bobby,
3:14 YES, This Why I Started Learning How to Play , the Look of Pure JOY is always PRICELESS. 😁💯
The healing power of music and rythym.Blessings!
The way that little girl looks at John while playing and then leans back in her chair those two people had their souls speak to each other.
2:56 this kid is SO FIRED UP👍🏼😂👍🏼 watch him try to take the harmonica😂” I wanna try!!”😂
dude is going ham like 15 seconds later. love it
This is a brilliant piece of footage of BT. The way John played to the kids too. Positive vibrations. R.I.P Bobby.
Without any hesitation, reservation , nor fear of controdiction, he straight reached those beautiful souls!!!!!😂😚😂😚😂😚
Who's Bobby? Was he in BT?
John is the real deal
@@jmuduke99 Bobby Sheehan, their bassist
@@jmuduke99 the guy in the sunglasses, he passed from a drug overdose in 99 john wrote a beautiful song about how he felt about his death called pretty angry its a tear jerker
MUSIC IS THE “BRIDGE-TO-THE-SOUL” amen big John
I just LOVE How He Stands there Just BLASTING away as if He was doing something SIMPLE like Eating an Apple for Example. 😎🤯
RIP BOBBY, 20 years ago Tuesday you died but left some great, great music behind bro
The kids were loving that show..
Bless up❤
You da man John !!!
class act all the way!
This song I music how they play it to the children that otherwise. Wouldn't be able to show their emotions in they might as we all do but he was able to capture? You're at that moment I give it to them with a response of love and happiness and total enjoyment Bravo John Bravo.🎉😅😅😅😅
When i first heard this song years ago in Kingpin, i knew they rocked. But seeing this video, just makes it even better.
And at 2:58 when that child reached out for his face, and he stops and goes back... that's amazing.
Nothing but respect for John Popper. Not only is he a harmonica God he also seems to be a genuine person
Whenever Im down I watch this comcert and I feel hope.
Unbelievable playing and singing from this John popper and his bank are Ace good too👏👏🇺🇸🇨🇮
They're all absolutely great but I am particularly impressed with the bass player.
I play drums for a living for a touring artist named Hamilton Loomis, look him up. Hamilton is a master guitar player but also plays harmonica simultaneously very well at his shows. I asked Hamilton “how good is John Popper at playing a harmonica?” Hamilton replied “John Popper is as good as you can get at the harmonica dude.” This one little exchange gave me that much more respect for the band than I already had. I feel that John isn’t recognized enough at being an absolute legend of his craft! Wanted to share that!
I miss this band.
They're still around, still sound great. They're playing our town next month, I'm really going to try and go, I've been a fan since the 90s.
Lesley Davies 30 year anniversary tour happening right now.
This band still rocks
Just saw them last year... they were amazing
I came here to jam out and ended up crying my eyes out...while jammin!!!
The reaction of those kids when John was playing to them went straight to my soul. Music truly is medicine. MLH&R Mr. Popper.
John popper the greatest ever. I don't care what you say. He inspires my playing everyday.
This video brings me soooo much joy when im down. Life is a beautiful thing!
AWESOME!!! Awesome, outstanding, and knockout good! I'd be jumping around with that kid in the back if I'd been there live for that. Nothing else would be a right response to that performance.
If this doesn’t get you “emotional” - I don’t know what to tell you....
3:13 is heart breaking, love J.Popper and the Blues Traveller
Sweetly, God bless 🙏🏼the special group that he is hugging, and their alertness is so sweet 💜❤️💚
What a wonderful music! I saw this band and this same song in the movie "Kingpin".
What a performance. The harmonica switch, the kids, the whole thing is unreal.
the way she was jamming to the music played strings in my heart.
A complete and total class act
30 years of playing music and I never knew that harmonicas eventually wear out. But if you think about the sax, and other wind instruments, you have to change out the reeds. Watch him flip out to a new one at around 2:40. That's a PRO!
Thats him changing the key hes playing in
@@geraldoberting9728 it was the same key.
We’re blessed to have such great music its magic touches everyone ❤️
i got tears in my eyes just to see joy in those kids hearts
What a master on the harp. I love how he just throws one away to move onto the next key. Aaaaahhh.. please dont just throw them away. What a master of the art!
Blues Traveler has always been one of my favorite bands. After watching this and watching Popper tear it up for the kids......fukin unreal. Good stuff.
God bless the band, God bless those young 'uns.
Brilliant….love it that he goes over to the kids 👍🏻
What harmonica skills…… fantastic stuff. God bless king pin for showing me this song!
That man is a king of the harmonica...
I can't get enough of this tune. And, the interaction with those kids, softened my heart.
I put no hope in tomorrow. Those were the days !!
Beautiful the connection. God bless anyone who plays bridge school. Thank you Neil young
I think is the great harmonica player ever. Mind blowing
This a wonderful, wonderful music video. I find it especially heartwarming to see John and the band playing to the disabled children (and their loving parents) as the song winds down. Very, very nice. Will head to Red Rocks to see them in July!
Wasn't expecting that! Music truly is the universal language. Those kids felt every notes meaning! John handing out harmonicas was the icing on the cake! Amazing video!
The Respect is mine
The Love is yours..
John Popper..soo RIGHT on that you gave your time to those little ones that where disabled....God bless
They are ALL amazing musicians, but the bass... Just as signature sound as that harmonica.
Rest in Paradise my dude.
Damn tears in my eyes, what an awesome thing to do
Entertainment for sure but that happiness is just beautiful!! We all walk this life together! WOW 😮😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Was expecting to rock out to some Blues Traveler today but here I am bawling like a baby. Class act giving the kids a front row show and then handing out harmonicas at the end. ❤️❤️
Heart throbbing what he’s doing
It’s not everyday that every single member of a band is super talented as blues traveler is
Ive been to alot of concerts and listened to alot of music in my life, but this is one of the coolest things I've seen in music.
Always been a Blues Traveler Fan....and this video is now my favorite concert video ever.
Can't wait to see these guys again once live concerts can start again🤘
That was awesome what a great guy playing to the kids like that. He plays harmonica like no other
One the greatest jam songs in rock
History!
One of the most UNDERRATED & UNDER APPRECIATED BANDS EVER!! OH AND THEIR album FOUR...UNREAL!!!
I was having a bad day and for some reason blues travler was on my mind for some reason because I haven't heard there music in many years and the nostalgia has brought back many memories and I'm feeling a lot better now. Thanks Blues traveler!
OK, this is the harmonica equivalent of Eddy Van Halen's _Eruption._ I mean, my God. It's freaking unbelievable.
He's is a loving kind person love your songs❤
Bassist is kicking some ass
Music is food for the soul
seeing the kids smile is all that matters tks jon
Omg..big fan of the Blues Traveller.....whooooowhooo
I was a little baby in the 90s... born in 93... but I can tell you, that I still remember how wide my eyes got when I saw them play on Rosanne!
This is so cool how they played to these disabled children! Love it!
so awesome seeing those kids loving the music.
Mountain View, California in the house!!
These videos just put a smile on my face.
Absolutely beautiful!!!
1:48 - 1:52 multitasking a mic cord correction while harmonica soloing.. the mad man
Gosh dang this is truly beautiful!
This was filmed at The Bridge School shows. I was there.
Mike Clayton I have Two “Pooper” harmonicas
This is one of the coolest songs of any band ever....great job Blues Traveler!
Love Popper! Dude is amazing and full of love.
This was such an amazing concert ole boy goes in on that harmonica
The last 3 minutes of that are just beautiful. That was heart-warming.
Does this song give any one else chills. The last of real music
