I also have this harbor freight case as well and I used the magpul daka grid, works so much better. I did the flex seal on the pluck and pull and it was pain, multiple coats and had to do it outside
I'm sure by now you realize that the pick and pluck foam is garbage. Just order some bulk foam from Foam Factory and customize your case in a much cleaner, much more effective way. You can order the charcoal foam in whatever width and length you need it, and it comes in different thicknesses, 1", 1 1/2 ", 2", 2 1/2", 3" and so on. And you'd be surprised, it's actually pretty inexpensive. I ordered extras, just so that I can change my case orientation later if I need to.
So if you had to do it all over again would you use the plastidip or the flexseal? I think I’m going to try to brush on one or the other after using a hotknife for the foam cutting.
Do you have to cut the foam? Looking for a transport case for different firearms depending on game being hunted. Might want to carry different rifles or shotguns? Or a combo of both.

@@theoriginaldashriprock the foam of the smaller case is still great . The rifle case is working but definitely not the best

The original all over in All honesty I would use flexseal for sheer coverage you get out of it.

You can put the firearm in and not cut it in all honesty. Cutting it does limit you to using only for that given gun. Give it a shot!
